Dr. Kaufman is very thorough and explains in simple terms why good nutrition is so important for my gastrointestinal health.

Dr. Kaufman is an excellent doctor in every way. He takes his time and explains everything to you. He is very thorough and he literally saved my husband’s life because of his ability to be a great diagnostician. He ordered tests that showed that my husband had bladder cancer because of him. We caught it in a very early stage. He is kind and caring and has a huge amount of knowledge in his field. We would never use another doctor.! he is simply the best!

I have IBS and have seen Dr Kaufman many times during flare-ups and he has always been very helpful in helping me manage the IBS. He has also been very patient and kind.

Amazing! Dr. Kaufman has been my GI for about 10 years! He has saved my life in the hospital when I was so sick with C-Diff and all tests were negative. He listened to me with empathy and always gave me a solution. I’ve had about 5 colonoscopies and he was always so gentle and informative. I drive about an hour to see him. Worth it though!

I've been a patient of Dr. Kaufman since the late 70's. He has guided me through my healthcare since I was first diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in the early 80's. Eventually my condition led me to have a permanent ileostomy in 1986. I am still under his care to this present day, and cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kaufman and his treatment plan for me over these past 40 years.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kaufman for many years. He is far and away one of the best physicians that I have seen in my life. He is a very caring and responsive professional. If one has an issue with a condition under Dr. Kaufman's care, he is very reponsive in contacting you, listening and addressing the issue. That's one of his strongest gifts ...he is an extraordinary listener. As you speak he takes it all in without interrupting you. And he is very knowledgeable regarding his field. He keeps abreast of current research. He is detailed in his diagnostic review; e.g. actually looking at radiographs/scans to confim the reviews of the radiolologist. As a topper he is a very pleasant individual that is concerned with your health. All in all a very gifted physician.

Short wait until I saw Dr. Kaufman. He listened to my concerns and explained my condition. He then gave me instructions on how to treat my problem. I would highly recommend him to anyone with GI concerns.

My visit went smoothly from start to finish. Dr. Kaufman is easygoing and pleasant to deal with. He seems to have excellent knowledge of all aspects of gastroenterology. I would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

I have seen him for over two years a handful of times. He never actually gave me any true exam. Honestly he wasn’t helpful at all with my abdominal pain. He told me to try the south beach diet, keto, and even told me to try and find god. He doesn’t look you in the eye and just stares down at a pieces of paper when talking to you. Oh and don’t expect him to follow up on any referrals or to do ANY extra work because he won’t and places blame elsewhere. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS GUY. LOOK AT HIS REVIEWS.

Each visit is positive, and Dr. Kaufman is very prompt to follow-up office calls and to messages on the practice MyJeff portal.

My original appt was with Binder, Kaufman did my colonoscopy/endoscopy to diagnose celiac. Turns out I have celiac and not that I can't find out info online about how to deal with this lifelong disease that impacts daily consumption, but it might have been nice to have follow up of some kind. I called the office to request results citing issues with their portal, no one called me back. I could not get into portal for the information. I think I was a new patient when they had one system, but by the time I had the test, the office switched to another system. No one handed me a pamphlet about this life changer. I researched all of the info on my own, but why? Mustn't this practice diagnose celiacs weekly? I've also had vision/eye issues for months that have baffled my eye doctors after 4 appts and 4 trials of 4 different contact lenses. Turns out my mascara, primer, foundation, chapstick, shampoo, conditioner and gel all had gluten. Could these docs maybe mention this potential issue?!?!?

Wonderful knowledgable kind. Listens and understands my needs and concerns. Happy he was recommended to me. So glad he is my doctor. Best doctor I ever had.

Dr. Kaufman only provided me with things to do at home, More over the counter remedies. He did not exam me at all, told me to try the home remedies and come back in a couple months. No help.

Dr.Kaufman Sr. Answered all of my questions about my upcoming procedure and made recommendations about medications to help relieve other issues. He listened to my concerns and answered all of these also.

I met Dr. Kaufman in the ER 19 years ago. Under his guidance I have not had to go back there. He is so well informed about medications, new studies, diet and supplements. As long as I pay attention to his instructions, I am able to lead as close to a normal life as possible. caring listens and answers questions. does not seem his age. only complaint he talks very softly. if you have a hearing problem i think i would pick a different associate.

Just had a Bravo Endoscopy... supposed to be a 15 minute procedure.. took an hour... the Endoscopy part went normal, however the Bravo did not. For the Bravo study, the dr is supposed to place a capsule sized pill onto your esophagus and then it minitors your acid... they tried twice and the capsule would not stick. They were able to retrieve one capsule, the other one was lost.. went for an emergency x ray to see where it went.. as far as the Endoscopy results... the dr told me it was all in my head and to go see a hypnosis... I have had a previous Endoscopy years before which would state otherwise. I should have known something wasn't right with this Dr at my appointment. He never once looked me in the eye or did any kind of exam. If I could I wouldn't give him any stars... never once looked me in the eye during my appointment.. never did an exam... he only revived old studies I have had done... he did a new study a few weeks later (well 2 procedures in 1) and the one procedure failed.. he lost the device in me so I had to have an emergency x ray.. as for the other procedure, he said I would need to see a hypnotist to fix my acid reflux!! A hypnotist!!!!!

My former doctor has retired from this practice and I saw Dr. Kaufman for the first time today because of a new problem. He had to do a procedure and was very professional and kind which helped to calm my anxiety. He explained everything he was doing and then gave me recommendations for follow up. He answered all my questions and did not seem rushed. I will see him again and liked his reassuring manner.

Not a good experience. Dr Kaufman walked into exam room, never introduced himself or made any eye contact during the visit. He made all decisions/recommendations based on health history form filled out prior to visit and never questioned me further. He wasn't going to do any physical exam until I questioned him regarding tenderness. I am a health care provider myself and found this visit totally unsatisfactory. This was my first GI visit ever with life-long bowel issues and very upset with visit

when discussing my particular situation and dr. Kauffman's study of my records he recommends the right procedures and regimens to follow. he is a tremendous help; a most knowledgeable and able physician easing your anxieties.

As a new patient, the basic level of care I would expect would be at least an introduction as the doctor walks in the door the first time. Having not even received that much, I should have been prepared for a less than favorable experience. Instead of asking me questions about my situation, he was reading questions from the computer and making assumptions without getting my feedback first. There is not enough space here to go into detail about just how bad this experience was.

Went in for colon cancer screen, tests were not very thorough, they are reluctant to do any imaging studies, the excuse is "radiation risk" but ultrasounds do not produce ionizing radiation... there is always some excuse with these doctors... waiting room was crowded, and the one test they did run was supposed to be taken home with me and the nurse claimed not to know what I was talking about. I did not leave until insisting upon paging the doctor. After the doctor came back out of his office, the nurse produced aforementioned test from a big box of them she had under her desk. They were hoping I would leave without the test so they wouldn't have to process it. Dr. Kaufman has treated me for GERDS for more than 15 years. He is knowledgable, thorough and informative. His treatments have allowed me to eat a normal diet and enjoy life without many restrictions. He does colonoscopies too.

I would recommend Dr Kaufman because he always makes time to answer questions when asked and I've had wonderful outcomes after a serious swallowing condition.
