Wesley Eugene Choy

I see Dr. Choy for my wrist/hand pain in both hands. About every 12-19 months he gives me injections to help with my Carpal Tunnel. I’ve had 2 other doctors in the past 25 years and he’s been the best. I’ve been going to him since 2008. He seems different but he’s nice and understanding. Tells you like it is.. ????

He deserves zero stars. A patient I know very well has been going to him for the last few years for their knee. Long story short, it took a really long time to finally get partial knee replacement. Imaging based only on x-rays, no MRI, no CT scan to see the soft tissues around the knee. Ankle (yes, ankle) issues worsened after surgery and still no diagnosis. Patient has been given cortisone multiple times in lieu of actual treatment and told healing nicely, yet 21 weeks post-op & at least 16 weeks of PT still cannot walk unassisted. I believe he's milking Medicare and insurance, putting off proper treatment just to keep the patient coming back. Patient requested records that are being withheld, they can only get one picture of the computer screen on their phone & told that the office no longer prints out records. The fact that personal records that the patient has a right to at any time is infuriating. This guy does not deserve to have a medical license.

I don't know how this guy has such a high rating, almost everywhere I looked. I can only imagine that reviews are scrubbed to show only the highest ratings. He deserves zero. A patient I know very well has been going to him for the last few years for their knee. It started off nothing wrong, nothing wrong, let's give you some cortisone, some more cortisone, oh you might have some arthritis, here's some more cortisone, now I think you need a partial knee replacement. Only x-rays were done, no MRI, no CT scan, nothing else to look at the soft tissue around the knee. Surgery complete and they are now 21 weeks post-op, at least 16 weeks of PT, and still cannot walk unassisted. I realize everyone is different and not everyone fits the standard "return to normal" time, but when someone can start to walk better post-op and then gets worse again, there is something wrong! This patient also had ankle issues (swelling and pain) that got worse after the knee surgery. Choy's responses - nothing wrong, nothing wrong, you might have arthritis, nothing wrong, it might be bursitis, it might be calcium deposits, here's some cortisone. No imaging or tests to determine what is wrong with the ankle. No actual diagnosis. Everything is "might be." How does a patient get better with an untreated "might be" thought? He pushes off his patients as long as he can with cortisone shots and pills, which only alleviate a symptom, it doesn't fix the underlying problem. I also believe he is playing the system getting as much out of Medicare and insurance payments as he can without doing anything. The longer the patient goes untreated and mistreated, the more money he gets. Now that this patient has decided, at the request of their PT techs, to seek a second opinion, he absolutely refuses to provide a copy of their medical records. This patient has asked twice and both times returned with a single picture on their phone taken of his computer screen. This patient was told they don't do print outs anymore. I scream bullsh!t! They are personal records and the patient has right to them upon request! At the first request, the patient was told to come back in two weeks to pick up their records. Now that the patient has driven another 50 miles round trip, they are told they can't have their own records. Another doctor this patient saw before Choy is willing to provide the records they have, so what does that tell you? I didn't like the sound of Choy from the very beginning and I fear that he may have messed up this patient for good. He's telling this patient that they are healing nicely. Sure, there's no infection, but that's about the only thing. How is someone healing nicely when they walked better before the surgery and now cannot walk unassisted for the past 21 weeks? If Choy can figure out who this is, then step up and do what is requested of you. What are you trying to hide by not giving a patient a copy of their records when requested? A real doctor, and a good doctor, would not abuse patients and use them as an ATM. He doesn't deserve a medical license.

Dr. Choy is a great doctor! He took the time to listen to what was going on with my health and well being!

A great doctor attentive to your needs.

Everyone was nice and helpful. I was seen right away, and Dr. Choy wasted no time... they're awesome!

Dr. Choy listened to my concerns and came up with a good plan of action instead of sending me home to try a bunch of interventions that I’ve already tried. I was very pleased at how easy and quick it was to get an x-ray when it was discovered that I needed one.

A lot of time, energy, money and suffering could have been saved by some simple lab tests. You should be picky about your medical care, because you can die broke from doctors looking in all the wrong places ... I had to fire my 15 year GP before reaching out to Oak Orthopedics and finally zeroing in on the real issue. TY to Doc Choy and Doc Puri! Dr Choy and his staff are wonderful. My 4yr old son broke his leg and everyone has been so good to him during the numerous visits we’ve had. Our personal favorite CNA is Ade, she is so loving & kind, & my son has really warmed up to her :). We also want to mention Alexis, Tonya, Kaitlyn & the Xray techs who have been so great during our visits. We are so thankful & grateful for all of you! Dr Choy and his staff are wonderful. Office got me in when needed & was very helpful. All the staff were very nice. First time seeing this doctor but have seen others at Oak Ortho. He was nice & seemed to listen. Was to the point. He saw me because my regular doctor through Oak was booked.

Dr. Choy was very professional but also compassionate. Definitely recommend!

Dr. Choy and his staff are fantastic. He thouroughly explained my injury to me, so that I completely understood what my condition was. He was very professional and I have full confidence that he can help me recover. I will be returning to see Dr. Choy.

He helped me feel less stress about my Bursitis procedure, by explaining to me the cause, what to expect, and the after effects of the steroid being applied. Even the follow-up was a great experience. Explained to me how this would play out if this occurs again.

In the past, I have seen other doctors at Oak, and I hold them in high regard. However Dr. Choy treated me shabbily, as though I were an errant child. He acted in a dismissive manner when I asked him to clarify questions regarding my broken heel.

Dr. Choy was friendly and efficient, and very caring.

I FIND HIM VERY GOOD. ONE OF THE BEST.

My first visit, I was recommended by my daughter, a nurse practitioner at Riverside Hospital . He seems very good.
