These people do NOT care. I have had ongoing symptoms for 9 weeks now, all I’m given is medications that come with serious side effects, or told to go to the ER just for the ER to tell me to follow up with my GI specialist. If I ever leave a voicemail for the MA, I don’t hear back for about 3-4 days or the receptionist doesn’t give the note to anyone when I call so I simply get no response at all. This facility does not want to help me. I feel unheard, pushed to the side while I’m miserable with my symptoms that can’t be managed by a specialist. I will never return. They did one procedure and when that came up with no results, they don’t know what to do.

Dr. Karnam is the best doctor in a sea of doctors I’ve seen. He is attentive compassionate caring and very accurate as to his methods and treatments of the patients he sees. I’ve seen him for 20+ years and refer him to family friends and strangers. He has a variety of locations to see him. He and his staff always go above and beyond. Your health is in great hands here!

One of the receptionist was the rudest person I talked to. I asked if she could have Dr. Karnum call me after I had an endoscopy and she said no. I had to wait for my appointment which I couldn’t even schedule for another month. I asked her why she couldn’t even ask him to call so I could discuss things with him before potentially going to the ER and she just got mad and said they don’t do phone calls. Stop wasting your time with other doctors and RUN to Dr. Karnam. He is the BEST, most caring doctor you will EVER find. In a world full of doctors that only treat you as simply another patient, Dr. Karnam takes time to find the true problems and cares about you far beyond the exam room. His nickname of the Gut Whisperer fits him to a T. He has turned from being just our GI doctor to a lifelong family friend who we trust our very lives with. We will continue to refer our friends and family to Dr. Karnam. Our family will be forever grateful to this wonderful man.

Dr. Karnam saved my life. I was waiting for a kidney transplant and my stomach shut down. I had lost 85 lbs and was not going to live much longer. My son found Dr. Karnam and I went to his office and the first time I met him I asked him if he could save my life. He told me he would, and he did. After a few weeks he got my stomach working and after 3 or 4 months I was able to get my kidney transplant. I am alive today because of Dr. Karnam and his great care. He is a tremendous doctor. I owe everything to this great man.

Dr. Karnam is a knowledgeable and gifted gastroenterologist. He has done more for me than any other doctor has, and he has given me more answers to my health problems than any other doctor has throughout my entire life. I wished this doctor had cared or treated me like some of the other patients on here. He literally did nothing for me. He couldn't even call me personally to tell me the results. Dr. Karnam gives off the impression he can't be bothered with your medical issues. He does not listen to a patients concerns on their digestive health or your family history of digestive disorders. He will interupt you or shut you down if he doesn't agree with symptoms you are having. Just because you have Dr. before your name does not mean you know your patients body better than they do and it would be a wise idea when a patient is telling you about their symptoms and family history that you actually listen to them and address their concerns in a professional and appropriate manner instead of diagnosing them without listening. Dr Karnam is a kind man who has a good bedside manner, especially if you have surgery. He also seems to be a great doctor who knows what he's talking about. Unfortunately, his office is always so busy that you're lucky to have 5 minutes with him to ask him questions, etc.. I'm more often left speaking with one of his assistants when I'm really paying to see the doctor. His office is also extremely hard to get ahold of, almost never returning voicemails so you have to call over and over again. I've had issues since I was ran over at the age of 3-4. When I turned 50 I was having issues with eating and holding down anything I ate or drank. Dr Karnam is the BEST. Having ulcerative colitis for 16 years he is bar far unequivocally the smartest dr I have felt with. He listens to his patents and he KNOWS MEDICINE. Since day one my UC has been under control and at times when I have flair ups, depending on the contraindications, Dr Karnam knows how to address is and get me back to normal. I don’t trust any other GI dr and I have met a few in my life living in Alaska and Michigan. Dr Karnam is all around a good person and definitely paid attention in med school. I have been seeing Dr. Karnam for over five years. Not only is he an excellent doctor, he is a true care provider. He always shows complete focus and dedication to his patients. He is interested in total well being and consults with your other doctors when there might be overlap in care. I highly recommend the Gut Whisperer!

He is amazing! He saved me! I went to the ER for unexplained abdominal pain. He performed an upper and lower GI test. He educated me on my condition and gave me medications to remedy the situation. Two years later I was having an acute attack of diverticulitis. He made time in his day to see me at his clinic and prescribed a STAT CT Scan. He prescribed antibiotics immediately. He even called me in person to follow up on my at home care. He is accurate, compassionate, and makes time for his patients. He listens.

Dr. Karnam & Staff, I need to thank you for all of your help. The very first appointment Emily gave me hope that my health issues could be resolved. She scheduled me for an endoscopy both ends with Dr. Karnam. The procedure revealed a cancerous mass. Dr. Karnam had me scheduled with a specialist before I woke up. The communication between Dr.Singh and Dr. Karnam was unlike anything I've ever experienced. Anything I told to one doctor was told to both, so I wasn't repeating anything. With each new referral Dr. Karnam would tell me to call his cell if I didn't hear from the referred Doctor by a certain time. Dr. Karnam is so kind, he listens to every concern, he is thoughtful in his responses. He only works with the best doctors, who are equally amazing in their bedside manner and attention to detail. Edit: Dr Karnum himself is an amazing guy and reached out to me to rectify the situation. He gave me his cell phone and asked me to call him directly from now on not the MA. The MA definitely should not be working with people with her behavior and work ethic. This is going to be a bit long. I came to Dr Karnum for a second opinion on an old diagnosis and hoping for answers to help my symptoms. Dr Karnum ordered a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. Never got an result call back after several voicemails. Got a little testy with the receptionist who got the MA. She could not find my results at all. Lost had to track them down. Finally got them. Went back to the doctor who wanted more testing. Ordered a Prometheus test. Once again didn't receive a call on time for the test results nor did my calls to voicemail get returned. Once again get testy with receptionist to get a MA on the phone. Who then says Dr Karnum wants to do a pill camera. They put in a pre auth with insurance. I had a call, a letter and a email from insurance letting me know it was approved. I spent 3 days then trying to get ahold of someone in the office to schedule the appointment. Went to get the pill test. They said it was a 4% chance of getting stuck. After 7 of the 8 hours I started getting very sick. I had to take the camera box off early. The MA very rudely said I hope the doctor can get results from this. No regard for me being sick. After 3 days of intense pain. I had to go to a different doctor because I couldn't pass a bowel and now had a flap of skin hanging from my rectum. 6 days after swallowing it, it finally passed with the help of a strong laxative. Once again time for test results no phone call. I have to call and leave voicemail that goes unanswered again. I get the receptionist on the phone who says she will get the MA. Our family is eternally grateful for Dr. Karnam. We arrived at Dr. Karnam’s office in dire need of a miracle. Our father was awaiting a kidney transplant but had become so ill and wasn’t able to eat or drink for quite some time and had lost close to 90 lbs. Dr. Karnam was so compassionate. He took the time to listen and understand our frustrations. Frankly, we had run out of hope. Dad asked, “can you help me?” He said, “I will make you better!” That one sentence gave dad hope and a will to keep fighting. At each appointment Dr. Karnam made us feel like dad was his only patient and like nothing else in the world mattered to him other than making him well. Dr. Karnam was able to find the causes of the stomach troubles and soon had dad back to eating normal food again and gaining weight back. Fast forward a few months and dad has his new kidney. Dr karnam is alright, my husband is still really sick, this has not changed! The billing is super messed up. They make a new account for every appointment, they dont give you credit when you pay online! They have charged more than their billing and still say we owe somehow. It's a joke!! you have no idea what you owe. I got duplicate staements for the same appointment one for $30 and one for $50. You have no idea where you stand. I will never go back, even though I have used him in the past with family members! He needs to find people who know how to do proper accounting! Also I looked at his reviews. when we went to see him. I have been seeing Dr Karnam for many years now and have referred family and friends. His clinical judgment exceeds all expectations. But just as important he is one of the most friendly physician I have met. After you have visited with him, you truly know how he really cares about your your physical and emotional well being.

I have been a patient of Dr Karnam's for over 10 years. Chrohns can make life a day to day hell, but Dr Karnam has always been there to support me. Keeping track of my symptoms, following up after hours to see how I am doing. And if a new issue is developing, always willing to move quick without taking any shortcuts to insure we have the right treatment. Always personable and relate-able, you are in the right hands for a GI Doctor with Dr Karnam.

I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. We have seem him twice once for our daughter and second for my husband. THIS DOCTOR HAS A I DON'T GIVE F*** ATTITUDE AND DOES NOT GIVE A F*** ABOUT YOU!! HE JUST WANTS YOUR MONEY AND GIVES YOU NO ANSWERS...Do not go to this Doctor.

It's been my experience that many doctor's only will look at what is of concern to them and their field but due to Dr. Karnam's sincere concern and care for his patients he saved my life by spotting a lymph node on a CT scan in another area that he doesn't handle. His knowledge and how he cares for his patients is outstanding. I have total confidence in him and will be forever grateful. He always makes himself accessible if you need him.

Generally, I am very healthy and do not often see a doctor other than for annual checkups. I recently turned 50 and I knew I should get a colonoscopy. I was quite nervous for this procedure. A friend recommended that I see Dr Karnam. I accepted the recommendation and am glad I did. Dr Karnam explained the procedure in a way that eased my nerves. I will continue to see Dr Karnam and recommend him to my friends and family.

It is a challenge to relay how much I appreciate Dr. Karnam. Besides being knowledgeable and thorough he is a patient advocate. He was instrumental in taking the necessary next steps and he was on top of my case all the way. He did the heavy lifting. I knew that he reviewed my progress daily and worked on my case. The nurses told me to relax because he was the best and that was proved to me. I am 100 percent healthy because he was so thorough and am 100 percent grateful he was my doctor.

I'm not exaggerating when I say Dr. Karnam truly cares for each and every patient. The care he provides is exceptional. From personally checking up on me, to preventing me from unnecessary procedures. His office called me promptly with lab and ERCP results. I had my gallbladder removed (which his office does not do,) and was still having multiple problems. He was the only doctor that figured out exactly what was going on and fixed it. I would hands down go to him for any gastrointestinal needs.

I have had the honor of being a patient of Dr. Karnam for several years now. When no one else could accurately diagnose my intestinal challenges, I turned to Dr. Karnam. It is interesting to see the dichotomy between these reviews. I am sixty-five years old and have had four stomach surgeries. Between California and here I have seen many gastroenterologists. Doctor Karam is the best I have had. He is all business but if you ask or tell him what you want and that you need more of his time, he will make every effort to satisfy you. As far as his staff goes I don't put up with somebody being rude and will report it to the doctor if needed. But it takes a lot to upset me, I am retired from Los Angeles Sheriff's Department and am used to people being mad at me. All businesses go through employees due to issues like the ones reported in these reviews, but I don't think that is enough to stop me from seeing a great doctor. When dealing with doctors, occasionally you need them to listen to your side of the story and what you expect from them. So you need to be more assertive when the need arises. I have had a doctor tell us that my mother-in-law was going to be on a breathing tube he was going to insert in her neck and that she would be in hospice care for the rest of her life. I told him we have power of attorney and that he was not going to put a breathing tube in her and that he was to stop the pain medicine. As our argument progressed he was telling me he was the expert and that I should listen to him, but I told him we were the experts with regard to her. It has been six years since the argument and she is fine, so if you feel they are making the wrong decision or you want them to address something that is more important to you, tell them. Dr, Karnam is a very kind, personable, caring, and attentive physician. I was quite sick when I first went to see him; he listened to my symptoms and addressed their root causes along with educating me about what he believed was happening. Dr. Commons Park City office is unorganized and chaotic. There was a line of people waiting to be checked in. Dr. Carmen was rushed and did not take time to find out what was really going on. Wrote a prescription within minutes and told me to come back in 30 days. Bad experience.

My son has been to this Dr twice for a scope for Barretts Esophagus. He is very rude and hurried. He was very disrespectful and would not take a minute to explain the results of his test or answer any questions! I feel like there are a lot more doctors that would be a better choice! I would stear clear of this one!

I know Dr. Karnam is a brilliant doctor, and highly educated. But I was completely frustrated with the little time he would sit down with us and simply talk to myself and my son. Best GI around!! He properly diagnose me while pregnant with gall bladder disease. He saved mine and my baby's life life!

Dr Karnam is one of the best hepatologists and gastroenterologists in the state. It is a little know fact that he authored a section in Up to Date on liver disease. (Up to Date is trusted unbiased medical subscription service that gets authors from the top of each specialty). He is also expert on eosinophilic esophagitis, inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer prevention. I personally practice internal medicine and have been very pleased with his care of my patients. 03/08/2017 My second visit with Dr. Karnam and I can't say enough kind words about him. He is very nice and caring. His staff are very nice as well. Very glad my physician referred me. I live in Springville but the drive is way worth it.

I was diagnosed with Celiac disease by my doctor and my wife scheduled me. I read a few not-so-positive reviews and was very much not excited for this appointment. I can say that I was genuinely VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED in every way. The staff was all very friendly, polite, and quick. The facilities were new and looked fantastic. Dr. Karnam was fantastic. Very quick (which was what I needed), but insistent that I check into a few things with the new diagnosis. What stood out to me was when my wife started asking questions about my 7 year old boy (whose blood work had come back the previous day) and the strong possibility that he too is Celiac. Dr. Karnam got on his phone, gave my wife his cell number, and said that he'd be getting in touch with a friend of his to see what he could do. Long story short. He followed through with his associate and we're being seen much sooner than had we not received a strong referral from Dr. Karnam. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Gut Whisperer!
