Dr Suzuka is engaged and committed to the highest level of care achievable within the system required of him. He is smart, current and present. I don’t know how he does it!

have been seeing Dr. S as my PCP for MANY years. Complaint: He has demonstrated a real lack of understanding of all things dealing with any Psychological issues. no referrals for Psych issues. Referrals he did give me for other ills were absolutely terrible, so bad I filed medical complaints with the board against these doctors, mainly for gross misdiagnosis and inappropriate treatments, or referrals by these doctors to others that were just as bad. I can not rely on Dr. S's referrals at all. He does a good job on staying on time for his appointments, I have never felt rushed during an O/V, he takes his time with me, however long it may take and appears reasonable in his approach in what his treatment plan he wants to suggest. He follows through for future appts, quickly gives me needed paperwork for lab tests, calls in prescriptions right away, however I don't think he reads the lab test results in a timely fashion, and have found that he has missed criticatly high readings, which leaves me the one to have to follow up with him. I find this very unprofessional that puts the responsibility on the patient to double check lab results, and get a reading from him about what the values mean. he is very down to earth and personable, however I have experienced on several occasions that it may take several days for him to respond to you if you leave a secure message through his "portal". If the issue was real important, then I would make sure in my message that it was "Urgent "or otherwise or make a panic call to his office if it is open. With my insurance, his co-pay is exceptional reasonable, and I have not experienced him requiring me to do any extreme amount of unnecessary of tests, just the necessary ones. Now that he is connected to Queens MC through his computer he has readily been able to access my past histories, test, treatments, etc. He appears to have an excellent memory about all my ills and histories, so I don't have to repeat myself over and over again. BAD EXPERIENCE: He did prescribe a medication for me which ended up with me having disastrous GI problems, with many referrals to other incompetent doctors. He never forewarned me about any side effects with respect to this med, and I went through hell. I had NO idea that the med he prescribed was the cause of all my problems. All the doctors he referred to me knew EXACTLY all of the meds I was taking. They were extremely ignorant, and treated me the complete opposite manner. So many tests and medications. They did NOT due a thorough history about me. They never considered the obvious, at all. I was sick for many weeks, unable to do anything, and in a great amount of discomfort and at times pain. Despite what I have written, I actually like the guy.
