Dr. Millet was the best experience that I ever had. I flew from New York out to see him because I could not find an answer to my AC/SC dislocation. All answers were surgery but could never play sports again. As a college athlete I knew that was not an answer. Dr. Millet took so much time evaluating me doing everything that he could to get me back on the field. His attention to detail and his true passion and core for his patients is remarkable. We did an AC joint reconstruction that gave me my athletic career back! If I need another surgery 10000/10 would go back. Thank you for all you do. I'll be back for the SC

Dr. Millett saved my knee and gave me my active life back. Amazing. I can’t recommend Dr. Peter Millett and his team at The Steadman Clinic highly enough. After being told by numerous orthopedic surgeons that the intramuscular tear in my pectorals major was irreparable and there was no way for a successful surgery to be performed, I decided to search for the best surgeons in the country to get a more hopeful opinion. I found Dr. Millett who was optimistic about the possibility of a successful reconstruction, and couldn’t be more thankful that I did. Everyone I dealt with at the Steadman Clinic from Dr. Millett, to Brian and the rest of the Physician Assistants, to the coordinators who helped plan my surgery dates and trip to Vail were great. Dr Millett is the best..not only is he a excellent surgeon he cares about his patients..I would go no where else I had him do my rt shoulder in 2017..when I was told by 3 top shoulder surgeons in CA that I'd probably re-trear and surgery could not help me..probably loos some use of rt arm...well almost 4 yrs post op and my shoulder is perfect Thanks to Dr.Millet and his excellent team..I lead a very active lifestyle...and lack of use did not sound good..left one done 4 weeks ago..and healing super..never took a pain pill Thank you Dr.Millett and team...A PLUS RATING

Dr. Millett competed an SC Joint reconstruction on my left side, completely changed my life. Going from Subluxation of my SC joint every single day to a completely stable joint. His team was very professional and easy to work with. Highly recommend to everyone!!

I went to Dr. Millett after 7 knee surgeries (6 on my right and 1 on my left) and had seen 11 different surgeons who all refused to remove femur metal from my right leg. I am highly allergic to metal and the chronic pain was leaving me bedridden for 3.5wks out of a month. He personally wrote me back on my inquiry, listened to my concerns, scheduled my surgery within a week (due to insurance issues) and personally followed up with my recovery. The level of patient care from Dr. Millett and his ENTIRE team is above any care I have ever received in my 20 years of dealing with orthopedic surgeons. There are not enough words to describe the level of care, dedication and professionalism you receive from Dr. Millett and his staff. My only disappointment is that I did not find him sooner!!! I went to 2 different surgeon's to have them look at my shoulder and see if they could repair it the first doctor said that he was not comfortable doing any type of surgery on it so I went to my trama surgeon's office shoulder specialist and his bedside manner was horrible and all he wanted to do was a full replacement so I started my search for the best shoulder surgeon in the United States and Dr Millett was at the top of the list. I set up a consultation with him and his team and immediately felt like I was his only patient. After talking with him and his PA we decided that he could go in and clean up the area and relieve my pain and return most if not all of my motion as we felt that I was to young for a full replacement. I'm a 48 year old "extreme sports" competitor not willing to give up this lifestyle. Went to other Doctors about my degenerative shoulder, all of them said "give it up." WRONG ANSWER! Found Dr. Millett on a visit to Vail. That team quickly assessed me (xray, MRI) explained to me that a total shoulder replacement is the only option. Then they said 100% return to sport! RIGHT ANSWER! Of course with the disclaimer that if I tried hard enough it could go South. I said yes! Scheduling was a breeze. The staff handled everything. I did 2 months of "prehab" to get it as strong as I could. Then surgery on Oct 16, 2020. Rehab/PT for the next 3 months 3 days a week. My expectations were blown away! My scar is hardly noticable, I'm totally pain free, my range of motion is better than it's been in years and I'm stronger than ever!. By month 4, I am riding/flying mountain bikes (full on) returned to vertical skateboarding and kayaking. 100%. I wouldn't go any place else! Thank you

If you've injured your shoulder please go to Dr. Millett if you possibly can. After 2 failed rotator cuff repairs he finally got mine right. Then my other shoulder failed and he fixed that one right-the first time-too. He is brilliant and absolutely top notch. Do not trust your body to anyone else.

Knee surgery

We were referred to Dr. Millet by our health concierge Pinnacle Health, and were provided his bio which is unbelievably impressive, on top of the stellar reputation of the Steadman clinic. We traveled two hours to see Dr. Millet for a consultation which was the 2nd opinion I obtained. He spent a lot of time with me, was very patient, kind and thorough. He was able to find the precise area of pain in my knee and told me why I needed to have it surgically repaired. I am about two months out from surgery and have had a spectacular result with no pain. I could have walked out of the surgery center without crutches! Prior to surgery I would wake almost nightly aching. The follow up and the entire team has been extraordinary. Dr. Millet has been responsive to all inquiries and I couldn't think of anything that wasn't at my level of expectation of greater!! I am very grateful for the entire experience.

I saw Dr. Millet in Feb 2019 to have five loose bodies removed from my knee joint - what should have been a simple surgery. I awoke from surgery unable to walk without a significant worsening of pain - a symptom I had NOT had before surgery. It did not get better over time, despite painstaking efforts on my part to calm it down. It affected my work (I am a physical therapist), my finances, my ability function normally and my outlook on life. I have always been optimistic, goal driven and a lifelong multi-sport athlete. Here is a brief summary of what happened: Dr. Millet and his fellow failed to remove one of the loose bodies during surgery and then denied it. He either didn’t want to admit it or he genuinely didn’t see it. Either way shows a lack of competency to me. This occurred in spite of the fact that I had specific pictures from my post-op MRI from not one, but two radiologists confirming the presence of the loose body. His best was to say, “I'm sorry you're not happy with your outcome” and offer to let me see the Steadman pain specialist. (He later offered to do surgery again after I had pressed him and his own radiologist confirmed that I DID in fact, still have a loose body in my knee and that my disability was not due to arthritis as he had claimed). I left and sought out a surgeon in the San Francisco Bay Area. My new doc was able to immediately see the loose body in the MRI pictures. Upon watching the video of Dr. Millet’s surgery, his comment was that it was, “not as careful or detailed as he would have liked”, and, "I was waiting for him to go back and get the remainder of the loose body, but he never did". I am currently five days post-op from a second surgery to correct what should have been done properly nine months ago by Dr. Millet. I am happy to report that the pain that had stopped me from living normally is finally gone. I am thrilled and hopeful once again. This is what I know now... Dr. Millet showed a lack of thoroughness and care both in and out of the operating room. While I believe he was sorry, it always felt like he was sorry about how the bad surgical result made him feel, more than how it had affected me. Proceed at your own risk. Dr Millet and his team are amazing Injuries when playing (skiing) are never a happy moment, however just knowing these amazing people are there to heal! Their team is engaged informed and kind!

I was very impressed... Dr.Millett performed surgery on my sternoclavicular joint in December 2018. All in all, I'm much better. The first 6-8 months I wasn't healing as well as I should've been. Doc Millet and his staff are the best. They have treated me after a bad work related accident that damaged my right shoulder. He was able to piece it back together, I'm almost 50 and my shoulder is functioning PERFECTLY! Dr. Millett is a world class surgeon located in a world class facility in beautiful Vail, CO. What more can you say? Well, Dr. Millett is also a very empathetic and caring person with a fantastic team of assistants and supporting staff who all take extra time and attention to explain the details and answer any questions. The whole Steadman Clinic experience with Dr. Millett far exceeded all of my expectations. I could not believe how seamless the whole process was starting with my first visit with Dr. Millett, through the surgery scheduling, operation, post-op, and post-surgery follow-up visits. I lived for almost 15 years with a painful and weak right shoulder that significantly impacted my lifelong love of tennis and even daily activities. After several prior diagnoses and surgeries (shoulder and spinal) by other surgeons over the years, Dr. Millett correctly identified my rather unusual shoulder issue as Suprascapular Neuropathy (SSN). He was able to perform the required delicate procedure to repair my SSN as well as repair other issues within my shoulder that required attention. Dr. Millett is the best !!! After an accident left my shoulder torn and weak he was able to fix the Rotator Cuff tendons and make everything great again. We can not recommend Dr. Millett and his team enough! He helped my daughter through three knee surgeries to get back to the sports she loves! I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and first showed up at Dr Millett's door in 2006 for my left shoulder. I previously had avascular necrosis and a hemi-arthroplasty (partial replacement) at the Hospital for Joint Disease in NYC by Dr Zuckerman (the department head at the time). Well it turned out he had "overstuffed" my EDS shoulder and made more of a mess than anything else. So Dr Millett is who "salvaged" my left shoulder. He allografted my stretched out ligaments (a procedure that no one else was doing on shoulders back then), re attached my blown out rotator cuff, down sized my over sized humeral head prosthetic and basically gave me the chance at a functional shoulder again. In 2010 Dr Millett performed a total shoulder arthroplasty on me b/c by then the socket had degraded severely from improper biomechanics. At the end of the day, I consider my left shoulder to be a work of medical art created by Dr Peter Millett.

Peter did the wrong operation on me. I've since spent 20,000 to have my shoulder surgery with him reversed. Peter is a criminal and a liar. Go to him if you would like to be injured.

A friend of mine recommended Dr. Millett to me. I've even seen him on the slopes. That being said, I couldn't say worse things about this man. He spent less than 3 minutes with me before recommending surgery on a 3 month old shoulder injury. His staff spent 30 minutes. I'm now a year post op and my shoulder screams at me on a daily basis. My new surgeon said that my injury should never have been operated on 3 months after the fact. Dr. Millett is greedy and will lie to you for money, I would advise anyone reading this to go to him, you'll get what you deserve.

The positive reviews are a lie. Likely by him or a staff member he has paid. They're good at their job. Don't be fooled. I get it you think you're special. God loves you. Go to him and you will find out otherwise.

My son had a complicated meniscus repair(after 2 surgeries by another surgeon). We flew from Michigan to Colorado because his surgeon here said you only get one good chance to repair a meniscus and he would never play sports again. He was 15 and this was devastating. His PT told us about Dr Millett and we never looked back. From day one the staff was amazing! Helped us every step of the way in coordinating the trip and paperwork, etc. Every staff member came and introduced themselves to us when we arrived! Dr Millett was so positive and it made a world of difference to ease my son's nerves. Needless to say, the surgery went great and he is back on the football field and wrestling mat. Fast forward 2 years....He made All State in both sports and the Michigan Dream team for both sports. He is currently getting full ride offers for college! Had we not found Dr Millett, I hate to think where he'd be. Very thankful for this team at Steadman Clinic!

I tore my ACL in a skiing accident and ended up going to Dr. Millett because he was in the area. He assured me that it could easily be fixed. It turns out that he did not place the graft properly. The surgeon who revised it less than 6 months later said he placed the femoral tunnel too anteriorly. I wouldn’t recommend using Dr. Millett for any advanced problems if he can’t even do a simple ACL repair.

April will mark 3 years since he did my allograph reconstruction, My rotator cuff was beyond repair and after Dr.Millett’s skilled surgery, I am pain free, playing golf, skiing, and loving life. As a former college athlete and weekend warrior I started experiencing pain and tightness under my right scapula region in late 2012. I saw two orthopedic surgeons close to home in California who didn’t know what was going on and sent me to physical therapy. After almost a full year of physical therapy and hopelessness I did some research and came across Dr. Millett and his experience in treating injuries and symptoms around the scapula region. I had exhausted all resources close to home and knew if I wanted to get down to the bottom of what was truly going on I needed to seek a consult from Dr. Millett. I booked an appointment in early 2014 and flew out to see Dr. Millett to get my life back. I saw him first thing in the morning and within minutes he knew what was going on and ordered an MRI, which I received that same day, to confirm his diagnosis. Sure enough he diagnosed me with snapping scapula syndrome as a result of a chronically inflamed bursa between my scapula and rib cage. Luckily he knew how to treat this and had a track record of successful surgeries. Before I left Colorado I booked surgery for the following week and came back to see him. Surgery went phenomenal and I can’t tell you how terrific the pre and post operative personnel were at the hospital and PT clinic. I stayed in Vail for a few days to do PT with Dr. Millett’s staff and to monitor the operative site. After that I flew home to rehab with a therapist close to home and within 3-4 months I was back doing the things I enjoy. Dr. Millett gave me a second chance at a healthy, active lifestyle and I couldn’t be more indebted to him. I had biceps and labrum surgery with Dr. Millet in March of 2016. After a few minutes on the of rehab I now have "my life" back. Tennis, golf and skiing are all bow pain free. I am so very grateful to have found Dr Millet. He has such an amazing team, especially Amanda, Jason, Brooke and Burak who all had an impact on my Steadman process and recovery. I have never witnessed such care and compassion from an entire team, starting from the first phone call to the day I departed Vail. Dr Millett, is such an amazing surgeon! He has a magical philosophy, starting PT the day after surgery to help keep you from getting scar tissue build up and adhesions which makes the healing process take so much longer and is much more painful. He is the world’s best surgeon of repairing shoulders, besides being kind and humble along with having an amazing bedside manner. Excellent surgeon with a great bedside manor. Very glad I traveled to Vail to have Dr. Millett repair my shoulder. It now feels great and I am back to doing all the things I love to do.

Dr. Millett and his staff are phenomenal. This was my 3rd knee surgery and by far the best overall experience I've ever had. This being the second ACL replacement on my right knee and the first meniscus repair, I relied heavily on Dr. Millett to explain my options. He did an amazing job stitching the meniscus and attaching a new ACL. My 6 week follow-up proved that everything is going well. Thank you Dr. Millett and team Joe, Jason and Brian.

I researched shoulder surgeons and found Dr. Millett to be the best one out there. I live in FL but went to Vail to have Dr. Millett operate because I had heard horror stories about failed shoulder surgeries from friends and others. My surgery went great. Did PT at home in FL with specific instructions for the PT from Dr. Millett. Just had my 3 month check with Dr. Millett. Got an A+. He is a highly skilled and knowledgeable surgeon. He has a very kind, patient demeanor. Highly recommend

Dr Millett and his team were the most knowledgeable, experienced and caring that I have ever encountered. I came to Steadman Clinic with a failed Grade 5 AC joint shoulder surgery. After extensive research, I felt that Dr Millett was my only chance at getting my shoulder back. I had lost function and was in unbearable pain. The revision surgery was major, as was the rehab. The results were a complete success! I can resume all activities, with full use. I am eternally grateful to Team Millett.
