Dr. Marcia Lynne Vanderbroek

As someone with many chronic and autoimmune conditions, I have seen a long list of medical professionals, and Dr. Vanderbroek was truly one of the WORST. I had switched insurance plans and was looking for a new primary care, and a family member recommended Dr. Vougiouklakis. However, when I called, she had no availability, but said I could be seen by Vanderbroek instead. From the second I walked in, this woman was astonishingly rude. She wouldn't let me talk, and if I did try to speak up she would immediately cut me off. I was there because of back pain and trouble losing weight due to my thyroid disease. She scoffed at me and said, "Your back hurts because you're FAT!". As someone who struggled with an eating disorder for years, this was not OK. Had this been years ago, it would have absolutely sent me spiraling. She also grabbed me and cracked my back without permission. Turns out, I have a completely degenerated disc and nerve compression and need surgery. Glad I didn't listen.

I have had bad experiences with doctors before going to Dr. VanderBroek. I am so glad I found her. She is clear, concise, and attentive. I especially like that she listens and is prepared to talk about my health status when she enters the examining room. Also, she doesn't order unnecessary lab tests, as I experienced with other doctors in the past. I also really like that I do not wait long in the waiting room before seeing her. I never waited more than 10 or 15 minutes, tops.
