Leonard Leonidas

Dr. Leo Leonidas, is a nice person but not a good Dr. When I was turning 45 I suggested to him that it was time for me to schedule a colonoscopy but he said to me “No you’re not 50 years old yet” I said to him “Doc they now recommend African Americans get the procedure at 45” he says “ You’re right but it’s all people not just African Americans” I wasn’t going to argue with him about that but the study specifically said African Americans should get a colonoscopy at the age 45 now and at 40 if you have a history of colorectal cancer in your family. The fact that I had to tell him this worried me. He should’ve known that. Every year during my physical exam he checks for a hernia but every year says I don’t have one when I’ve been told by 2 other Doctors that I do have a hernia. I received a CT scan by another imaging facility and my results were sent to Dr Leonidas. My results stated that I had atherosclerosis but he never told me anything about it until I asked him about it. I had to ask him to schedule me for a calcium count CT. Every year when my blood work is done he’ll tell me if my cholesterol levels were high but tell me everything else was normal and it’s clearly not normal when my A1c levels are in the range of pre diabetes. For years in a row he has not made me aware that I have pre diabetes. I contacted him and confronted him about and he said “I apologize” . I’m sorry is not gonna keep me healthy or alive I told him. He says to me “If I’m not comfortable with the care I’m receiving I can go elsewhere” I said that’s exactly what I’m going to do because I don’t trust you.

We've been seeing Dr. Leonidas for quite a few years now and he is a very caring knowledgeable doctor and person, and he truly takes the time with you, whether it's a routine physical or you are seeing him for an issue. When you do see him, he makes you feel like you are his only patient at that time. His staff are all very pleasant and helpful as well, and you can tell they have a great rapport with each other and enjoy working together.
