My mom Gloria O”Brien loves Dr Mehta.

I felt good about the doctor. He genuinely seems to care and is concerned. Calls go through swithboard, when transferred their calls are never answered. Your suppose to leave a message and they will return call yet calls are not returned. Lack of communication between Medstar radiology and scheduling company for PET scans, they scheduled me for a scan on a day radiology was closed so I had to wait another week for a scan. Nearly impossible to get ahold of the office. All I needed was new head gear to replace my three year old head gear that broke. When they finally did call me back, I was told I would have to come in for a follow-up appointment in order to allow Quality DME to order my new supplies, but the next opening was January. Obviously, I cannot not sleep well for an entire month. And, I do not need a $40 follow-up appointment just to say "yep, you still exist, they can order you new head gear." Absolutely horrible communication and policy. So I just went on Amazon and bought new head gear for almost the same price as my co-pay would have been. Nearly impossible to get ahold of the office. Im a patient. I switched to Kaiser and now have tried for six months to get records transferred. There is an Utter failure to be able to get in touch at any day or hour by phone or get return calls or emails of any kind. I've been through countless hours on hold with the entire medstar system trying to reach them. Compared to Kaiser (in my opinion) the medstar customer service people are untrained and often even rude. Im a patient. The doctor is great but his staff doesn't seem to support him. I had a video appt completed on 15 December. I was to get a call from his office to replace equipment in service since 2012. Got a call around 19 December that a script would be sent and I was eligible for new hoses, machine etc. Couple days I then received a call from "im your sleep counselor in Atlanta" after less then 5 minutes it was determined that my headgear was no longer made and she transferred me to home health in Baltimore. A rude person said this is an after hour emergency number we will call you back. They didnt so I called and was told the script was for "supplies", ok but you cant supply something that is no longer made. You will need a new prescription because the cpap machine is not a supply. I called Dr Mehta s office at the Bean Bldg. no call back after a day called again I was finally connected to waldorf nurse who said we will call you back. I called today Jan 6 and I am waiting for a call back.

I've been seeing Dr. Mehta for 1.5 years for asthma. The office procedures are very inefficient: have to go through switchboard in order to reach dr's ofc, no patient portal to access records, no email, and won't take co-pay payment in the ofc. During COVID had telemed visit Apr 2020 in order to renew my daily maintenance inhaler prescription. Made annual pulmonary function test for Oct. Even though numerous professional organization state a PFT is NOT essential during the pandemic except for extreme situations like a lung transplant, etc. ofc did NOT cancel the PFT. I called to cancel & had to make a telemed visit in order to renew meds. Their method is to call you when the dr is ready and then he sends a text. Camera & mic had permission but wouldn't work (had many prior telemed dr visits & use zoom daily). I stated uncomfortable coming to ofc he stated he was uncomfortable renewing my meds even tho I had seen him 6 mos earlier. Unconscionable & appears $ more his concern.

First of all, the scheduling person is a complete idiot. it took about fives minutes and spelling the doctors name to her several times before she understood i wanted to schedule an appointment with Dr. Mehta. She seemed like someone under the influence of something illegal. Once I finally got past the mess, she preceded in telling me the doctor does not see patients in P.G county. I'm not sure what that is all about, however i hope to get an explanation from someone competent.

I like the fact that she makes you feel.comfortable and she listens...very warm and friendly as well as a great ohysician
