Dr. Brad A Yentzer

I have been seeing Dr. Yentzer for several years now. Initially, I thought he was somewhat arrogant, but I think that is because he has a rather breezy, laidback style and as I got to know him, my perception changed. What I really appreciate is the fact that, unlike my last dermatologist, he doesn't biopsy everything he sees. He has a good eye for knowing what to watch and what to leave alone. Whenever I have had a particular problem, he has taken his time with me and answered all of my questions. His office staff are very friendly and it is always easy, at least in my experience as an established patient, to get an appointment with him.

Rude and Insecure

Dismissive and condescending. Also, not knowledgable about women's health issues or concerns. Did not do a thorough physical exam. Did not take thorough health history. Also, made me feel terrible my condition. Got a second opinion with a near-opposite diagnosis. Will never return.

The staff was lovely. Dr. Yentzer on the other hand is the worst kind of doctor. Seems like he has canned solutions to common problems, and refuses to adjust them based on specific patient needs and preferences. Refuses to listen to patients and talks over them. Entirely dismissive of concerns about side effects of the treatments he recommends; did not disclose, and tries to underemphasize side effects which are well known. Told him I wasn't interested and he sent the prescription to the pharmacy anyway. AVOID

I'm a woman in my late 30s, experiencing unexpected and dramatic hair loss. Not only was Yentzer dismissive of my concerns, he was also NOT thorough. He spent approximately 15 seconds looking at my scalp before he concluded that my hair loss was 'female pattern' due to aging. He did not ask about my medical history, stress profile, genetic history, etc. When I asked him if it was possible my hair loss was due to stress he said "well I can't give you a magic pill that will make you younger." He prescribed an oral and topical medication for hair loss. When I asked if there were side effects to the oral medication he said no. A quick google search shows that's absolutely not the case, and further this medication is under-researched in women. I got a second opinion from another dermatologist locally who was caring, thorough, and concluded the clinical opposite of Yentzer after a much more thorough exam. I found Yentzer to be dismissive of women and unknowledgeable about women's health.

I made an appointment for an annual cancer screening. He barely looked at my skin and I actually went to a second dermatologist after that appointment because I didn't trust the screening. He saw me for less than 10 minutes, yet I was charged for a 45-55 minute "intake." It was a miserable experience all around.

The Dr. was not receptive to listening to the symptoms or looking closely at my son. It seemed he had a diagnosis in his mind before entering the room and was very condescending when I questioned it and asked questions. We were in there 10 minutes for $280 and then had to pay $80 for a prescription that hasn't worked at all because he wouldn't listen to us. It was a waste of time and money.

Dr. Yentzer is really helpful and knowledgeable! I went in for moderate acne that persisted for 11+ years, and he is the only dermatologist I've been to who has listened and acknowledged my concerns.

Terrible experience. He does not care about his patients and did not discuss in length about my issues. I left there with many unanswered questions and his arrogance was disturbing.

Gets to the point. Uses his eyes instead of biopsying everything in sight.

I agree with all the negative reviews. He is awful, arrogant, cocky and unpleasant. His staff was great. Though they seem embarrassed at his behavior. He seems to have his own practice now and doesn't seem to be associated with CMA anymore. Hmm.. wonder why.

Excellent experience. He doesn't chop off every lesion in sight, diagnosing carefully and at times watching for a year if it changes.

Awesome doctor! I suffered with a horrible condition for years. Dr. Yentzer fixed my problem in no time. Now, all of my family come to him. So happy he is in the area! And love his new building in Dryden!

Beautiful new office, welcoming staff and excellent physician who is expert, thorough and very compassionate. Overall terrific experience and feel privileged that Dr. Yentzer is our family's dermatologist.

Arrogant is the best descriptive. I will never see him again. I do NOT recommend him. He is in the wrong profession.

Having been to several dermatologists in the past, both in Florida & New York, I rate him right at the top. In the past I was seen by Dr. Robert Lamb in Ithaca, whom I liked greatly - Dr. Yentzer is a very close 2nd to Dr. Lamb. A very open, unassuming man he's quick to share his opinion & include you in on what he's doing.

Nice at first, but was ultimately unwilling to pursue an unconventional treatment option (which posed little no serious side effects) without first requiring that I jump through a number of unnecessary hoops. When I confronted him about this and demanded better answers, he terminated me as a patient.

The most aggressively arrogant practitioner I’ve ever encountered. Has the answer to every question he asks and no interest in listening. Horrible person.

Dr. Yentzer was very professional and had a nice manner about him. His staff was very helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend him for dermatology needs.

I wish I could leave a zero. Worse experience with a dermatologist ever. He's new to Ithaca Ny and I am telling everyone about my horrible experience. I would rather wait a month to see any other dermatologist in Ithaca. Do not subject yourself. Even the staff apologized for my experience.

Dr. Yentzer came highly recommended by my Rheumatologist. Dr. Yentzer was rude, condescending and incompetent. He offered no help, but took a biopsy of the problem area-testing for Impetigo! I have been dealing with this for 6+ years and have 2 small children. I voiced my disagreement as I had been misdiagnosed with that before and it's highly contagious-my children would have been affected! I said "Impetigo is highly contagious, yes?" to which he replied, "No!" That's when I was done!
