Yong Zhu

Dr. Zhu is the 2nd Rheumatologist that I've been to and I he was much more helpful than the other Rheumatologist I used to go to, in Renton. He spent over a half hour talking to me about what I'm doing right and what I can do to get my uric acid levels down even further. I almost didn't go after reading other reviews...glad I saw him and will follow through.

Dr Zhu decided what would be my best treatment option before we even spoke & spent 20 minutes trying to convince me, I was offered no other options. He escalated in what appeared to be irritation when I asked questions. By the time the appointment was over, he was frustrated & in a hurry to leave the appointment. He asked me if I wanted him to schedule what he recommended. When I responded I would need time to think about it, he became very frustrated & didn't even let me finish my sentence before he walked out. I'll be getting a second opinion.

After having almost given up on finding a competent specialist who could help me with my RA, I found Dr. Zhu. He is simply the best....understands me....explains my medical issues and is caring and compassionate in his treatment. Highly recommend his services to anyone hurting with this debilitating disease. So grateful for Dr. Zhu!

t took my doctors a very long time to determine I had an autoimmune disorder. I was really happy to finally have a doctor who could actually help me so I could get proper treatment and an accurate diagnosis. None of that happened and I can say this was the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. Dr. Zhu did not listen to me, rushed me, interrupted me, and had NO interest in establishing a good patient/doctor relationship. My second visit, that he requested after abnormal bloodwork results, was even worse. After I left, I knew I was never going back and I would never recommend anyone to him.

interrupted me multiple times. said my fibro pain could be handled by just not focusing on it. told me i should not schedule a follow up with him even though he did nothing but run blood work with me. terrible experience.

If i could give this man zero stars I would. If you have been suffering from autoimmune issues and do not have a diagnosis DO NOT COME HERE. Go right back to your doctor and request another clinic. I have been seen by Dr. Young Zhu. I first saw him back in January right after I had spend 5 MONTHS in the worst pain of my life along with a HUGE list of other symptoms. I had at the time a slightly positive ana but nothing else in my blood work so he dismissed me and REFUSED to help me or come up with a plan to find out whats wrong with me. My hair is falling out... I cut my hair off because I was sick of watching it fall out in the shower. I was doing my makeup the other day and my eye brows were falling out in chunks, I get itchy before flare ups to where my whole body feels like a huge bug bite, I get rashes, I have a butterfly rash, im in constant pain most days so bad it hurts to walk and move. My heart will start racing, ill loose all energy in my body and pass out. My skin feels like its on fire some days. This last flare my blood work was not so good I was having full body weakness that was worse in my arms. When I stood up or came under any stress my ENTIRE body was turning bright red. When I get worked up or stressed my butterfly rash gets worse and skin gets warm. My legs and feet turn blue/purple durring flares. I have pain and pressure in my right eye. I have been having trouble eating. Don't get me started on my brain and being able to remember things is rediculously bad. Im very sensitive to light it hurts to go in the sun. My ankles pit. My eyes are dry, I have been getting more and more head aches, shortness of breath and chest pain durring bad flares. On bad pain days I feel like i loose control of my legs and im very clumsy. Everything upsets my stomach. Im sure im missing more but I feel forking miserable and this doctor REFUSED to do anything for me other then look at me like I was crazy. I had to come see him again this last week. I have a high positive ana and issues with my blood work and urinalysis that had nothing to due with infection the hospital checked. Unfortunately getting into another rheumatologist takes months so I had to come see him to get cleared for a exploratory surgery i need. I was hoping he would see my pain and want to help. I was praying he would take me seriously and come up with a plan to find answers. Did he? NO HE DID NOT. He is running more blood work but still no plan. He did not ask me to come back. When I came into his office he was confused as to why I was back and did not even want to go over my symptoms again and with my brain issues I get mixed up and confused but he did not care. Im just another number to this man. Thats not ok. Even the nurse seemed to not give a crap just like him. This is all one big joke. On top of the fact this man was passing out fales information. That may have been the case when you went to school sir but the times have changed. I'm sick of doctors not taking me seriously this is how people die. Its sad that my Gyno is the only one worried about my health and sees these things but no other doctors care enough to even take the time to look into it. Im so defeated I dont know what to do anymore.

He interrupted me multiple times and didn't hear anything I had to say. He stuck onto one symptom I had over a year ago and wouldn't hear me out. I left feeling really defeated and that I gained nothing from the appointment.

Crystal-induced arthritis. Reginato A, Paul H, Schumacher HR. Abstract The identification of monosodium urate crystals in joint effusions of patients with gouty arthritis established that crystals can cause arthritis. Other crystals causing arthritis have also been identified, including calcium, pyrophosphate dihydrate (chondrocalcinosis, pseudo-gout), calcium hydroxapatite crystals (calcific periarthritis, acute arthritis) and depot corticosteroid crystals (which occasionally cause arthritis when injected intra-articularly.) Crystal-induced arthritis is characterized by acute articular inflammation although rarely causing joint destruction or permanent disability. It is important for clinicians because it can mimic more serious joint diseases like septic arthritis or even rheumatoid arthritis. It can be diagnosed with precision and in some types as in gout can be treated effectively. Also, it constitutes one of the best understood articular inflammatory processes and often is the first clinical clue for the presence of curable metabolic or endocrine diseases.

He was very hard to understand. He doesn't care how you're feeling or doing. After the initial visit he only spends 15 minutes with you and rushes you out the door. Feels like he's in it for the money and he has zero compassion for you or your problems. He also forgets what he has said in previous appointments and changes his mind constantly making his therapeutic decisions questionable. Wouldn't recommend him to anyone ever!

I have seen him 3 times in the last two months... Extremely knowledgeable and a little funny too. I was leary about treatment with enbrel, I ditched my previous rheumatologist, because of her lack of knowledge and inability to explain anything. Dr Zhu explained everything, took extra precaution, and even treated my hip bursitis which I thought i had to just live with. Was nervous about the injection, but he was very kind & quick. Best rheumatologist I have had since my 1st 1 retired 4 yrs ago!

A bit difficult to understand but know what he is talking about. Unfortunately the medical staff surrounding Dr. Zhu is so abysmal that it is difficult to get anything accomplished at a reasonable pace. I constantly had to call to remind them to do things that could have been done weeks in advance. The medical assistants were by far the worst i have ever dealt with and I will not be returning to this clinic solely because of them.

I was referred to this office due to a new health issue relating to Rheumatology and got turned away before I was ever able to schedule because he doesnt treat my current health issue (I am not asking him to). I have already been diagnosed for many years and my PCP felt I should see a Rheumatologist for these new changes. I have never been declined an appointment by a specialist EVER! Dont waste your time here!

Looked at my nails and said nothing is wrong

I have visited with this doctor 3 times and each time I have come away feeling dissatisfied with the outcome. He doesn't want to listen, interrupts you, is in a hurry and doesn't seem to be interested in your medical history. A little bedside manner and compassion can go a long way when people are in chronic pain and don't know where to go or what to do. I find neither with him.

This RA. DR. is highly intelligent regarding the knowledge of the disease, however does NOT address the whole issue, only the biologic side. Unfortunate at best for anyone that suffer's R.A. know's well that you have to have pain management as part of your treatment. It's like only addressing half of this crippling and very painful disease. Highly Unsatisfied. The staff has horrible mannerism and it takes a good hour on hold to even reach the office. Will NOT return.

I was left without any follow up care. The doctor was focused on running numerous unnecessary tests. He did not agree with my previous physicians diagnosis and refused to listen to me and agree on treatment plan. He was rude and very hard to talk with.
