I have nothing but good things to say about this doctor. I made an appointment for a consult but forgot and didn’t show up to my appointment the first time, Dr. Strutz was understanding and rescheduled me in a timely manner. My general dentist mentioned I may need a gum graft. During my consult, the office took several X-rays (which caught something growing in my nasal cavity that is questionable), educated me about periodontal disease, and did a thorough exam of my mouth. Dr. Strutz gave his honest opinion that I don’t need a gum graft at this time and made me feel very relieved. He spent an hour of his time with me for free! Wonderful periodontist. Very honest, straightforward, knowledgeable, and down to earth. This place wants to help people. Dr. Strutz gives his new patients a full periodontal examination with x-rays at no cost. He then finished up our session telling me that my gums were healthy and that I didn’t need any periodontal work done. He and his staff are wonderful people. Very, very pleasant experience. I was referred through Veterans Affairs Community Care program. Dr. Strutz was kind, courteous and took the time to explain to me about gum disease and how his treatment would treat it. I have seen positive results in my periodontal treatments. I wish I would have seen him a few years ago. I would still have a lot more teeth.

Dr Stutz quoted me half what other dentist did, but even better other dentist told me wife she needed a $1,000 deep clean but Stutz said she just needs standard cleaning. Most honest dentist and man you'll find. A++++++

Dr. Strutz is the BEST periodontist is KS! He is incredibly kind and caring towards his patients. He uses the best protocol and procedures in order to keep his patients safe and makes them feel comfortable throughout the entire visit. 5/5 stars!

I found Dr Strutz to be very knowledgeable and was able to explain what the various diseases of the gums and bone structure around them were. He was very extensive in his initial evaluation for me. He and his office staff were very cordial.

My 22-year-old son has been experiencing bleeding gums after scaling and root planing from his regular dentist and had the perception that he had gum recession. After a thorough online search, we decided to make an appointment with Dr. Strutz for a second opinion. My son made the call to make an appointment, talking directly with Dr. Strutz, and had an appt. within a week. I tagged along to the appointment, wanting to hear first-hand what the doctor had to say. Dr. Strutz was at the desk welcoming us to his office. After several bad experiences hiring office staff, he has taken on that portion of the practice as well as treatment. It has been my experience that all medical providers charge a consultation fee for your first appointment, whether they provide any service other than an exam. Unlike others, Dr. Strutz charges NOTHING for your first visit. Really! Nothing. Prepare yourself for customer service unlike any other at this office. My son had approximately 12 x-rays taken, a very thorough exam and excellent advice/counseling/good conversation. I was invited to sit in on the exam. Following the examination, my son learned that he had nothing to worry about. His gums are healthy and his home care routine is spot on. My son's relief in hearing those word were visually noticeable. Dr. Strutz's bedside manner is excellent. He has years of experience, plus continually adds to his knowledge base through ongoing research and curiosity. The only problem with Dr. Strutz is that he is a specialist and we will likely not have the privilege to visit with him again. I came to him because my mouth suffered from years of less-than-stellar care over many years. Fortunately, I did not require extreme reconstructive procedures, but Dr. Strutz very carefully explained my condition and my options. He began with the least invasive option, moving up only after a thorough evaluation. His practice is a personal one - not one of the big franchise-like dental businesses. I truly appreciate his care. My follow-up visits alternate between my dentist and Dr. Strutz, and the deterioration has stopped (actually improved!) - but is being monitored closely. I called Dr Strutz because I had sore on my gum area on a upper molar. He graciously told me I could come to his office right away so he could examine the issue. After he examined my gums, he determined that I did not need periodontal treatment, but informed me that I probably needed a root canal because of an infection. He recommended one of the best endodontists in KC. He then called the endodontist who said I could come in the next morning (a Saturday) to perform the root canal.

Finding this professional was pure Gold! Upon my fist visits to Dr. Strutz it was clear I was in the hands of a Dr.'s Doctor and a highly skilled specialist in his profession. I gained great comfort during a time when I was a raw nerve of worry simply by my experience here and the plan Dr. Strutz outlined to treat the very serious issue I had. After gum surgeries on both sides of my mouth during the first 18 months, there have been no more surgeries required.
