Best Dr I've ever seen he's kind patient and he always listens to what I have to say

If you have serious concerns GO TO ANOTHER DOCOTR. Bates will not take you seriously. He will try to blow off the appt and any concerns you have. He will waste your time. Do not go here! My spouse is going through something serious and he continued to minimize our concern.

I had an extremely rude and demeaning experience with him. From the very beginning, he made me feel like he didn’t want to care for me. I patiently tried explaining my medical situation and he kept cutting me off as I was stupid. Who would ever trust a doctor to be genuinely interested in your wellbeing when you’re treated like that? A professional doctor would have the courtesy to be patient and hear his clients’ needs. I am very disappointed and do not recommend seeing him again.

Dr. Bates is caring , knowledgeable, and honest. If you need a physician you can count on and trust, this is the man you need to see. I have not had a regular Dr. in years until I came here.

The entire staff is fantastic! I’ve referred my whole family and many friends.

Dr bates is kind and thoughtful. He relies on tests and personal insights and experiences to suggest treatment options.

Dr. Bates is the greatest. He really cares about his patients. He is straight forward and listens well. My wife and I both use his practice and love it.

Dr. Bates seems genuinely interested in the reason for my visits, is thorough, and compassionate. He was also my mother-in-law's physician and took extra time with her to explain, and when the time came to call in Hospice, he did an extraordinary job of being professional and at the same time, caring.

Dr. Bates is the best primary care physician I have ever had. He is medically knowledgeable yet is very caring and compassionate. At a visit he is always prepared for our meeting, takes time and listens well, and offers sound medical advice. I would highly recommend Dr. Bates and have already done so with family and friends

I have used Dr Bates for the last 5 years. He listens to my health concerns, diagnosed my issues and recommended treatment / medications to help me. He takes the time to answer all my questions. If I have an issue or reaction with a medication he immediately changes the medication no problem.

Dr Bates is fantastic caring physician. He cares for family members..Calls after hours to check on patients.

Dr. Bates is by far the best doctor I've ever had and I would recommend him to anyone.

I called Dr Bates' office (CHI Memorial Ooltewah) and was told that he was accepting new patients. I gave my insurance info etc.. I never received a call back so I called his office and asked for an update. His receptionist told me that he declined taking me as a new patient. All I needed was a primary care doctor for physicals and general care. I have to assume he doesn't care for the insurance that I carry, even though I did verify that they do in fact accept my insurance. I called Dr Bates' office (CHI Memorial Ooltewah) and was told that he was accepting new patients. I gave my insurance info etc.. I never received a call back so I called his office and asked for an update. His receptionist told me that he declined taking me as a new patient. All I needed was a primary care doctor for physicals and general care. Dr. Bates has no right to be working as a family physician. He walked in the room without knowing my name or what I was there for. Instead of answering our questions, he belittled us and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. His "advice" goes against advice and medications that I received after I saw a specialist who actually knows what he's talking about. Needless to say we will being to another doctor as soon as possible. Would not recommend to anyone who actually wants quality medical care

Amazing Doctor !!!! Very smart and good with patients. One of the best doctors I have been to as far as being up on everything he deals with.
