Dr. Villanueva has done a neck fusion and a lower back decompression and fusion on me, he is wonderful surgeon. He will spent time with you going over your surgery and what to expect. I’m beyond grateful for Dr. Villanueva.

Wonderful neurosurgeon! Dr V is very caring and professional! His staff have always been very helpful and kind!

Hydrocephalus is enlargement of ventricles. Instead of helping my symptoms, he enlarged my ventricles, creating hydrocephalus. Run away from this doctor, he says one thing, then writes something different in the notes. He said my ventricles were a certain size and became slit-like and he wanted to get them back to certain size. Turns out it never was that certain size he said. He scared me into unnecessary surgery. Now I have vision, hearing issues, and have consistent head pressure he ignores. He will ignore your pains and say everything is fine, when you are not fine. His negligence is beyond a shock and disrespect to his profession.

Very professional surgeon and one of the bests in my opinion. There is usually a wait at his office but I can look over that for how much I trust and respect him. If you are in need of a neurosurgeon I highly recommend Dr. V.

I waited for four hours to see Dr. Villanueva. When I finally did see him it was a brief 15 minutes. He did not discuss my MRI and I left with the feeling that he thought I was wasting his time. When I was checking out I was told that patients routinely wait up to 5 hours. There is seriously a lack of respect fot patients.

Dr Villanueva was my husband's neurosurgeon in 2013 and was with us during a long recovery (7 weeks in ICU). He didn't rush in and out of his rounds. Took the time we needed for understanding what we were dealing with. His team of APRN's were super friendly and helpful as well. Great team overall!

I had surgery on my c-spine by him. He is an excellent surgeon. He will tell you exactly what is needed and will not do surgery if it’s not needed.

I wish I could rate with 0 stars. I waited four weeks to get a second opinion from anyone in this practice. I sent my medical records and it still took me calling three weeks in a row to get any answers. After all that waiting and being in pain I was told nothing other than that I couldn't be seen. I'm at a loss and highly disappointed.

I'm actually going to file a complaint with the AMA. I was mailed paperwork 3 weeks before my actual appointment and filled it out and mailed it back to them. I was to be seen for Neuopathy in my legs that is causing debilitating pain so much that I've been to the ER twice in a month for the pain. I get a confirmation call on Monday that said if my paperwork was mailed back to arrive 15 minutes before my appointment time, which I did. At that time I was told I was supposed to be there 30 minutes prior to my appointment and they would not see me today. They said to ignore the confirmation calls because they are wrong. Well how was I supposed to know that? So not only did I not see the doctor today but now they cant even see me before August 14th. They have a patient in horrific pain and because of their mistake I have to continue to suffer in pain. This is unacceptable on all levels. So I will be calling the compliance hotline and the AMA to report this doctor for allowing such things to happen. The lady at the front desk has a computer screen so large she can't see over it and I stood there for 10 minutes before she even acknowledged I was there. Then she was rude and dismissive on top of that. I will never see this doctor again. Who needs a doctor who's office makes a mistake and makes the patient suffer for it? Oh, yeah, Dr. Villanueva, that's who. Shame on them. I also have an appointment tomorrow with our attorney to discuss a malpractice suit. I'm actually going to file a complaint with the AMA. I just spoke to Lillian in Dr Villanueva office who made a decision that I did not need to see this doctor for nerve damage. She is the door keeper, and this office allowed her to make this decision. I have have spine surgery and was told I may have nerve damage. I've had several imaging test with negative results. I had an appointment scheduled with this office and had to cancel because my doctor wanted to have more imaging done. Now that those reports were negative. My pain is possible sciatica. I'm amazed at how I was turned down so quickly when he has treated me before. Lillian was rude and stated, "you are a new patient if you haven't been here in three years". I will take my BCBS eleswhere. Especially when I don't need a referral. This was an awful experience. I hope you will have a better experience when you call. Dr. Villanueva is a highly acclaimed surgeon and Dr. Laura Tudor is excellent as well. The office staff on the other hand are rude and not helpful. I submitted paperwork for them to fill out for disability benefits and 2 weeks later when we showed up at the appointment they still had not completed it. They made excuses about someone being on vacation even though we had spoken with them twice before and they told us it was in progress. Then they had the nerve to act as though I was out of line for being upset. I’m sorry but I don’t find it at all acceptable for paperwork to take that long. These ladies acted like they couldn’t care at all but if it were them not getting a paycheck I’m sure they would be equally upset. The office staff shows no sense of urgency and actually seems put out by having to do their job. In fact, when we first showed up the lady complained to us about the person she had been on the phone with who was asking “too many questions”. Dr. Villanueva is such a kind, caring, attentive doctor. He listens and takes his time with his patients. I've had chronic back pain for years, finally there is relief and I can get back to normal living!! Thank you Dr. Villanueva!!!

My experience from start to finish with Dr. Villanuava was great. I was in such pain and his kindness and compassion for my care was unlike any experience with a DR. I have had. He never rushed me or my family, taking time for any and all of our questions and concerns. He sat next to me and explained every step of the test and surgery I would be having and helped calm my nerves. During my hospital stay just the mention of his name brought comments like "He is the best. You are in great hands. He cares about helping people. Not only is he a great surgeon he is a great person." For nurses and technicians in a hospital to all say these things was a glowing testament to his ability and character. His office staff and NP were all professional and caring with post op visits. And in the middle of a pandemic I had my post op visits but they always made me feel comfortable to come in. Dr. Villanueva has performed two lumbar surgeries on me. One in 2004 and one in 2016. Both were very successful. Can't say enough good things about him, or the other providers in this office. The office staff has been extremely accommodating, and very helpful to me. Would, and have, advised friends to see Dr. V if you need a Neurosurgeon.

I have a very bad back and I needed surgery for years! My cardiologist told me about Dr Villanueva. He ordered a MRI. He confirmed I needed surgery! He was excellent about explaining the procedure I needed! I felt he was very professional and knowledgeable! I felt he had my best interested a priority!

I have had back issues for years.... went here and loved them.... didn't need surgery so they referred me to pain management...... that being said ... now that I do need surgery they won't take me because it's from an auto accident..... nice ...... but I guess when you are this good you can choose who deserves your time and care...... Ive been seeing Dr. Villanueva sine 2001. Three surgerys were all a successful. Best Dr. And only Dr. I'll let deal with this

I really respect Dr. Villanueva. He spent a lot of time with me at my first appointment. Unfortunately, my Dad flew me back home in hopes of finding a “miracle” cure for me, which was a joke, & now Dr. Villanueva’s receptionist said in a very rude and condescending tone that he won’t see me again because I made the mistake of seeing someone else. I wish this wasn’t true. I’ve been told the same thing elsewhere and found out it depends on who you get a hold of. I wish Doctors were aware of this.

Dr. Villanueva’s practice is the single most unprofessional group I’ve ever been seen by. The practice sent out very terse, rude and assumtive paperwork to be completed prior to my first visit. Upon speaking with the rude, unimfomative and inept practice manager, I was told that the doctor group did not want to change the terse messages within the paperwork. I just had an appointment canceled by the group. DO NOT visit this group of clowns.

My experience with Dr. Villanueva was excellent. He is an outstanding neurosurgeon. My hope is that I do not need his services in the future, but I know that if I did, I would not be in better hands.

Dr. Villanueva literally saved my life after the other doctors sent me home twice I was one hour away from going into a coma and never coming out when he rushed me into surgery saving without shaving a hair on my head. I recommend him all the way 100%

Dr. Villanueva is the best neuro-surgeon anywhere in the area. He came very highly recommended by everyone I spoke to including my other doctors and every physical therapist I had. Dr. Villanueva performed back surgery on me and I was never worried or afraid beforehand because I never felt hurried in an office visit or was left with unanswered questions before my surgery. Dr. Villanueva is a wonderfully skilled doctor and a very nice man. Every therapist I had recommended him. His whole staff is great. I never felt hurried in an office visit. I had no unanswered questions before surgery and always found his staff to be very helpful and polite. I felt back pain free very soon after surgery.

I have seen Dr. Villanueva for several years. He has connected me with the newest technology and treatment procedures available for my issue. He has expert knowledge and will always research and go the extra mile to ensure he is taking the appropriate steps in his treatment plan. I cannot say enough positive about Dr. Villanueva and he is absolutely kind and caring when you talk to him.

He spent at least 45 minutes explaining what he saw in my MRI. He answered all questions we asked. He told about risks involved. I had waited to do this procedure because of hearing stories of people who were disappointed in results of their surgery. (Dr.Villanueva was not there dr.) Because I am a retired teacher I had asked several of my former students who are now nurses for recommendations. Dr. Villanueva was the top choice of three who worked in this area. I am very satisfied with results.
