It really doesn’t concern me if the individual at the front desk smiled at me or if I had to wait an extra few minutes to see the doctor, I had cancer several years ago and I received mohs treatment from Doctor Vipal Soni when he first started his practice and I am cancer free

I highly recommend Dr. Soni as a dermatologist. The best in Orange County! After many failed attempts with other OC based dermatologist, Dr. Soni was able to detect my skin issues and provide treatments that improved my skin within months. He was kind, patient and willing to understand my skin concerns. I trust him so much with my face, that I go to him now for botox. I also love his staff! Dr. Soni is excellent, but the waiting times are excessive. I'd also like to add that on occasion the staff seems fairly flippant on why people might be irritated about waiting. We all have places we need to be. Please learn how to schedule based on real waiting periods.

Waited in a room for 45 minutes and never got to see the doctor. Told the staff I had to take my husband to work and they informed me “he’s always running behind”, as if I should have accommodated. Disappointed.

Excellent

This pains me to write this review. My family has been coming to Dr. Soni since he opened his practice, which is well over 15 years! He was humble and a very good dermatologist. At first, he used space in his Uncle's office, but as expected after a few years he moved to his current location. Over the years the practice grew and why wouldn't it? All of us were referring our friends and family to him. Over 15 years later his office has grown, as well as the staff. But so has the arrogance. Over the last 4 years, I have had to wait well over 1 hour and on one occasion 2 hours to see the doctor and that is with an appointment! I confronted Dr. Soni about this and he was rather caviler stating something like "I can't always know what I will find from one patient to the next". Hey, I get that, I must admit, I like it when Dr. Soni takes the time he takes with me, why would I think it would be any different for another patient? But then schedule your appointments accordingly. They lack caring about the patient's time, so much so that it is palpable within the office. Most of us are working and raising a family where every moment of the day is accounted for before we leave our homes. So an hour delay is excessive, and it being all the time is unacceptable. What makes me so sad is that I personally love Dr. Soni, but no doctor is worth the disrespect and disregard you receive when you step into his office. Lastly, I had an appointment yesterday at 3:00. I arrived at 2:55 and waited in the waiting room for 15 minutes, I was then escorted to the room where I disrobed and wore that beautiful gown, all the while listening to Dr. Soni in the next room chatting it up with another patient. The conversation had nothing to do with skin and this went on for over 10 minutes! (yes, you can hear conversations in adjoining rooms) Once it was completed and he left the room, I thought "finally", but no, he went into another room. So I waited another 10+ minutes. I have now been at the office for almost one hour and have yet to see the Dr. I got up, got dressed, proceeded out the door to the desk where I waited for someone to care that I was there, which really never happened, until one lady got up and asked if she could help me. I told her I had waited too long and I was leaving. Then all the chatty women finally stopped talking and stared at me, but not one apologized or asked if there was anything they could do to assist me. This is a professionally run office, that delivers outstanding care with courtesy and respect. I have been a patient for more than 8 years, and find that the average wait time in the office is 10 minutes. Dr. Soni is extremely knowledgeable in the dermatology field, and presents his diagnosis and treatment skillfully and personably to each patient. I Highly recommend this doctor and his staff.

I went to Dr. Soni with a malignant melanoma diagnosis from another doctor who was on my insurance plan. I had Dr. Soni do my surgery and I paid out of pocket because I knew I could trust him. He is so thorough, knowledgeable, caring and he does an incredible job with a needle and stitches! I am so glad I went back to Dr. Soni.

I have not left a report for a Dr. before though felt that my experiences with Dr. Soni would be helpful to others. I have never before found a Dr. more committed to excellence in quality care. It is obvious that he truly loves his work and the ability to try to make a positive difference to each and every one of his patients. His expertise and genuine concern for each patient is far beyond any other Dr I have been to. You are NOT a "number" here. More like a cared for family member.

That wouldn't be so bad except they were having friendly conversation...For ex., about a nearby bldg being demolished. We could hear all because there is a gap in one wall. When I told office staff I needed to leave, one woman said "OK". When my husband who was with me asked the assistant (who had brought us to the room) what happened, she just shrugged her shoulders. Expect at least 30 min wait...bring something to read or do. This doctor is worth the wait. It's the most thorough exam for skin cancer I've ever had. He also surgically removed a basal carcinoma on upper lip area and carefully placed incision to match normal lines. He spends a lot of time with all patients so he does often run late.
