Dr. Terri Wood Jerkins

I met her for the first time on 3/9/2023 and she is AMAZING!!! So informative, listens intently, asks thought provoking questions so that she can learn more on how to help you! 10/10!!!

I was diagnosed with a Prolactin Pituitary tumor. Lucky enough to have Dr Jerkins assigned to me while at Williamson County Hospital. Was very worried about this and thought it may require surgery. Dr Jerkins made me feel at ease and knew she could help me. This is one doctor who will listen to you and remember what you have talked about. And, more than that, she really cared about me. She has me on the right path to getting well again. Wonderful, caring, compassionate, kind, super intelligent. Glad I have her as my doctor.

I like the way she sees potential in her patients and she provides the intervention needed to care for them. I also like the way she explains things and never makes me feel rushed. Dr. Terri Jerkins is a rare find, if you are looking for someone with industry leading knowledge and a committed doctor to tell you the truth and not to just blow rainbows in your directions, I highly recommend her. I love Dr Jerkins! I started seeing her in 2011 and eventually moved to another state so I had to see someone closer to me geographically. As an individual with Type 1 diabetes it is incredibly important to have a GOOD, INVOLVED physician. I never had anyone like her before I started seeing her, nor did I meet another doctor that came close to her genius after I left Nashville. I eventually moved back to Nashville and started seeing her again. And my blood sugars are more on track and consistent because she cares, she’s smart and she’s tough. I really like Dr. Jerkins and found her knowledgeable and caring, but her staff will not return phone calls, send in lab orders, or respond to basic requests. They gave me the wrong lab container, and I had to completely redo a 24-hour urine collection. If she had a better office staff, I would not be looking for a new endocrinologist.

This doctor saved my life. She is the most knowledgeable physician I ever met. I worked in medicine for over 25 years and have met a lot of doctors so I feel confident in saying this. She also has a staff that gives 110%. They will also work with your insurance co. to get what you need. She came to my hospital room after 7 o'clock at night to meet me after seeing patients in the clinic all day. It was my first day out of ICU. She is dedicated to her patients and their families as well. She will sit and answer all of your questions and your family's questions without ever feeling rushed. She gives you as much time as you need at every visit. I hope this was helpful to you in finding a new physician. She might save your life as well.

They never have appointments available soon enough only months away. I rescheduled appointment from last year months ago to only be told today after checking my appointment day (I placed the appointment day they gave me in my calendar in my phone when I rescheduled last year..like I normally do) I don't have appointment even when it's a concerning situation. I have been seeing Dr. Jerkins for several years for help dealing with my Type 2 diabetes. She is extremely smart in her approach to encouraging me to want to do better to improve my health so that diabetes is not a major liability in my life. Before seeing Dr. Jerkins I only saw Drs. that told me to "don't do this and don't do that". I was never encouraged to do better so I never felt I could do better. However, with Dr. Jerkins my a1C has vastly improved and my whole outlook about diabetes is an issue that I know I can live with and it won't be a disability. She is very much an inspiration for me to do better with my diet and exercise. I'm so glad that I found her. A great doctor.

Dr. Jerkins is very thorough in her one-on-one time with her patients and if you don't like bluntness from your doctor, she may not be the right choice for you, but if you want to be told how it is and what you need to do to be healthier, she is top-notch. It can be frustrating to reach her office and she often has to reschedule appointments due to other issues, but she knows what she's doing and is in demand to speak with others about her knowledge and that does take her away from the office at times. This is a specialty that is way under-served in the medical field in the Nashville area. When you talk to pharmacists and other doctors, she is always highly regarded among her peers. Great Doctor Love Her And Her Staff !!!!

I have MCAS and she is a fabulous doctor.

Dr. Jerkins is the Best of the Best! I’ve been seeing her for 27 years. When we moved out of state for a few years we regularly drove the almost 600 miles back to see her; we have found that her unique combination of extensive knowledge and immense caring is irreplaceable.

I have been seeing Dr. Jerkins for about 17 years. She is extremely sharp and thorough. She puts a lot of time in with her patients one-on-one. She has treated by father as well and has caught problems missed by other doctors. I highly recommend her!

I have seen Dr. Jerkins for many years now. Her staff has continued to be the very worst medical staff that I encounter at any doctor's office; i often think i'm back in socialistic medicine Canada when going there. She does not educate but instead pushes Synthroid without any explanation or discussion or review of what blood work she has done and why. Don't go here; keep looking!

2nd time fail appointment. We go all the way to Nashville and into Dr. Jerk-ins office Just for them to tell me for the 2nd time they have cancel my appointment. That is 2 times I drove all the way to Nashville but let's not forget the 2 appointments cancel because the doctor decided to go out of town on vacation. Dr. Jerkins is by far the best Dr. I've been to. I have a very rare condition that she totally understands and treats it aggressively. She listens to the patient instead of just thinking that numbers tell the entire story. She is a true gem!!!

I have been seeing Dr.Jerkins for about 8 years. My back went out on a Friday morning which she is CLOSED so my husband called and canceled my appt at 8 a.m for my 11:00 a.m appt. I get a call back from the front desk that I will have to pay $25 for no showing. I refused then I got a letter that said I was noncomplying. I called the office for weeks and couldn't;t get through to speak to someone. I had to have back surgery and got fired! Never got a call back from management or anyone.

I have been seeing Dr. Jerkins sense I was 15 when I was first diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I would not trust anyone else to treat me. She spends the appointment making sure that I am comfortable and that all my questions are answered. I have recommended her to multiple people and they say the same thing. Dr. Jerkins is a Life saver.

Dr. Jerkins seems to be very detailed oriented and effective, but reaching her office is a total nightmare. Office hours are on the message as 8:30 - 4:00 Mon - Thur, but getting anyone to answer the phone or returning voicemails or emails is next to impossible. As a new patient, I have many questions that I can't get answers to and after waiting 4 months to get an appointment and another month for a follow-up appointment will be fruitless if I can't get the medications I was prescribed.

Dr. Jerkins and her husband are wonderful, wonderful doctors. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in June 2015, and she saved my life. I have never had a doctor that I could email anytime of the day and she will get back to me with an answer to my question within that same day. I would recommend her and her husband to anyone. She truly cares deeply about her patients and doesn't treat them as paychecks.

I have been seeing Dr. Jerkins for over 20 years. I trust her implicitly with any medical problems I have. I highly recommend her. She is extremely smart and is able to diagnose conditions others cannot. She tells it like it is because she cares about her patients. I have recommended her to several friends. My family is very grateful to her for taking such good care of me for the past 20 years. I am a type 1 diabetic for 40+ years now. You cannot go wrong by choosing her as your doctor.
