It's taken me a long time to figure out how I wanted to write this review. I don't know what theses ladies are doing when booking expecting moms, but each time I had an appointment, we were there for 6 hours. There were times when I drove all the way out to my appointment just to get a text asking me if I can go home and come back later because they weren't ready yet. It was very frustrating because I live far and I feel that it's unprofessional to say the least, when this happens every single time I had an appointment. I was seen either once a week, or every other week. I can't remember now. I will say that I do truly believe that Dr. Ponkey has your baby's best interest at heart. The whole staff including the billing department is so amazing and great at what they do! I’m grateful to be squeezed in where needed and when I’m available. I have had the best experience and highly recommend the whole team if you need somewhere w/ extra care ❤️

Absolutely amazing! I'm so glad my OB referred me here. They are so thorough and take the time to listen!! Which is rare to find a Dr. Like that these days. The wait times may be long, but after my appointment, I now see why. Totally worth the wait!

My wife and I were sent to this doctor due to my wife being advanced maternal age. Our first appointment we arrived and they told us there would be a wait as someone was still ahead of us. The wait was about an hour not to mention we were there for THREE hours. We scheduled our second appointment for follow up for a few weeks out. That appointment day came, as we are driving to the doctor we get a text asking if they can just text us when they are ready for us. We live 40 mins away mind you so we are more than half way there to be on time for our appointment. We do some running around for about 30-45 mins and go to the office. We get there and get told there are still some people in front of us so we have some time still. We wait in the car, another 30 mins goes by so I ask do we have time to go get food. I get told oh yes you have plenty of time. We go eat and come back still no update, we text asking how much longer as we have a child to pick up and feed dinner. They tell us oh, you can go back home pick up and feed your child there are still 3 people ahead of you. We ask if we can reschedule and they tell us that it would be too far out to reschedule as they don’t have any openings until 3 weeks later. We go home eat and after 2 hours we text and ask how much longer mind you it is now around 8:45pm and our appointment was at 4:30! They tell us that it will be at least another hour maybe hour and half, but then decides to reschedule us for the three weeks out that they stated would be too far! Day before appointment day we receive a text not to leave home until we get a text as they are in high demand and our appointment time will most likely be later than schedule. ( We are scheduled outside of business hours already!) Appointment day is here, our appointment was at 5:30pm. No text. We ask at 7:30pm if we can get an update and get told there are still THREE people ahead of us! THIS IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL DOCTOR IVE EVER BEEN TO! I was originally scheduled for Monday, then received a text saying it would be better for me to come the next day at 6PM;I was told it was so I wouldn’t be seen “very very late”. I came to my appointment after work and arrived on time, I received a text saying to wait to receive a text from the office saying they were ready for me. I waited 2 HOURS and still no text, I went in and asked what was with the delay, and was told there were still 2 people ahead of me?? (Only reason I waited was because it was a follow up on some concerns the Dr. had) I was finally seen at 8:30PM then barely left the office at 10:30PM. I wasn’t given any explanation or apology and didn’t even get to discuss my scan results with the doctor. The tech said “everything is all good”. This was my second visit with them. Only giving 2 stars instead of 1 because my first visit was amazing not sure what changed. The Doctor and Helan are very kind , but kindness doesn't run a doc office alone we had very long wait times. Which is understandable but then waited second round. We were given inaccurate information re a genetic factor in our family *** doc saying alpha one is a adult onset concern where it actual can affect children so I think since she's in genetics she needs to further research this. As I myself see a alpha doc. Hopefully learning experience we will not be returning . The Doctor and Helan are very kind , but kindness doesn't run a doc office alone we had very long wait times. As a neurotic first time mother, I was told by my regular OB that I was being referred to a high risk specialist due to multiple inconclusive NIPT tests. I was a nervous wreck with no clue why this was happening and no other experience to base off of. Dr. Ponkey got me in on a Friday the week I found out simply because of how nervous/scared I was while other offices were saying it would be weeks. Helen, the ultrasound tech/nurse was fabulous from the start when I was about to have a panic attack...she talked me through every step of the way and was cracking jokes with my husband to help put me at ease. They were all very thorough and took their time with me, explaining everything. I left there feeling so much better and with a definitive plan of care for the future. I am so appreciative of this doctor and her staff and what they did to help me when it felt like no one else cared what I was going through....you simply don’t get that type of medical care nowadays and I’m so grateful for it, not only for me, but my baby boy. We got transfered to Dr. Susan Ponkey's office because our original doctor got COVID19. Her office is very clean and nicely decorated; the environment and everyone instantly make you feel like home and less nervous for whatever procedure you are having. Dr. Ponkey and her staffs were really the friendliest we have ever encountered in a medical facility, and our procedure (Amniocentesis)/ results/ questions were all very professionally and patiently explained and answered. We strongly recommend her clinic, if you are considerng any genetic or fetal diagnostic testings done. Thank you Dr. Ponkey and ladies. I was referred to Dr. Ponkey after having a horrible experience at another high risk clinic. I’m so happy that I was referred to Dr. Ponkey, she has been nothing but amazing. She is so kind and caring. Her staff also amazing and very nice. It was quite a wait for my appointment but well worth it. She was very thorough while going over all my records and ultrasounds. She was more informative than the last place. I was very nervous when my OB said she was sending me to a high risk doctor, but after my visit I felt so much better. Dr. Ponkey and her staff have cared for me during my last 2 pregnancies, which were high risk with abnormalities found on my last pregnancy. Being in the medical field myself, I see too often how patients are rushed in and out of medical offices, sometimes with their questions going unanswered due to time limitations and booking constraints. At this office, however, this is not the case. I will be honest and say that I’ve had to wait for my turn to be called in, but it is far worth my time to have a provider and her staff be tremendously thorough in my care, reviewing images and medical history while I’m present, instead of overlooking these important things and letting me go home with uncertainty. Today, unfortunately the health care model seems to rush patients on and out of offices. I am so proud to have found a medical provider, in light of how concerning and anxiety-provoking a fetal abnormality can be, that does not adhere to haste. After 3 years of experience with Maternal Fetal Medicine & Genetics, I have found the model of care at this office is to care for the patient(s) with a thoroughness that is simply not found anymore in our medical society. While there may be a wait, it’s well worth your time for yourself, your family, and your unborn baby. I can’t stress this enough. I am so delighted to have found a provider in this current day that is willing to put time into their patients, something that requires us all to be patient for one another to get the care we deserve. Initially my OB referred me to a high risk OB at the Phoenix Perinatal Associates but I did not get a good impression from the high risk OB there. I asked my OB for a different referral. I am so glad to have been referred to Dr. Susan Ponkey. Her and her staff is so kind and caring. I love the fact that they take the time and thoroughly examine every aspect of the pregnancy and medical records. They ask lots of questions and that’s the type of doctor I prefer. One who wants to know ever detail to diagnose accurately. The trade off to having all the attention to detail comes the long appointments. I’ve had 2 appointments and they have been 2.5-3 hours long. I don’t mind it because I look forward to these appointments. Who doesn’t want more screen time to see their baby on the ultrasound. I will admit my first experience was not the best. After trepidation my OB asked me to give it another try with Dr. Ponkey and staff. I am so glad I did give it another chance. I had a very turbulent pregnancy and these ladies in this office helped me through it all. I really want to thank them. Helen was very informative during the ultrasounds. She is very good at what she does and truly appreciate her during this process. Dr. Ponkey answered all of neurotic questions as I was a very nervous first time mother. Claudia and Erica helped me every step of the way as well. There is no doubt in my mind, I would have not gotten through my pregnancy without the help of Dr. Ponkey and staff. I am so glad I went back and they found out my baby was in danger and sent me straight to the hospital to emergency delivery. They even asked for pictures of my baby girl after I delivered. I am so thankful for the help I received at Maternal Fetal Medicine. Thank you ladies so much. I will bring my baby by to see you all very soon. I went to Dr Ponkey when I was pregnant with my son almost 2 years ago and I tell you she was hands down the BEST doctor I’ve ever been with. She is the IDEAL doctor , sweet and very loving ! She spends time with you and goes into depth about everything she does . She provided her personal cell for the weekends for me because I was so ill. She was wonderful I could’ve never asked for more from her or her staff . Let me tell you just how exceptional this place and the staff is. I never felt uncomfortable when I go here. They are so knowledgeable in everything they do. Dr. Ponkey is unlike any other physician I have ever consulted with. I was beyond impressed with her care. I was not just a random patient for her. She spent almost 5 hours with my husband and I late on a Thursday night. Apart from that, she continued to follow up with us, even giving us her personal cell number. The staff is warm and genuinely friendly. It's easy to tell that they care deeply for their patients. Dr Ponkey is very thorough and attentive. Helen is an amazing sonographer. Shelly and Ashley are just fantastic. I feel very fortunate to have been referred to this practice for my pregnancy.

Dr. Ponkey and her team (Shellye, Ashley and Helen) are amazing. You always feel important and are informed about everything in your pregnancy. I would recommend this office to every person in need of a fetal specialist.

Dr. Ponkey is exceptional in both her skills and bed side manner. If you are looking for the best care during your pregnancy she is the sure to exceed your expectations.
