I have been a patient of Dr. Sclamberg for many years. I have gone to him for several different pain issues and injuries. I have also had four surgeries by Dr. Sclamberg. My rotator cuff surgeries and rehab has left my shoulders pain free and with full motion. Over the years I have experienced knee, leg and hip pain at different times. Dr. Sclamberg is the best! He is always willing to listen and takes the time to explain things to make his patients comfortable. He is so knowledgeable in his field of expertise. My family has been going to him for years, we can’t imagine going to anyone else. A Brilliant Physician I would highly recommend!

After waiting weeks for my appointment he did not even show up. His staff did not even bother to notify patients ahead of time so I could reschedule. Instead after waiting almost 2 hours, I was seen by his nurse who indicated X-rays (I could have done that sooner at urgent care). Then the doctor did not even bother to follow up about the results of my X-rays and never returned my calls and emails inquiring about that. However, he did charge my insurance for the full appointment even though he never even saw me or provided any input, diagnosis or recommendations whatsoever. Terrible experience overall. I would give 0 stars if I could.

I have visited Dr. Sclamberg twice in the past 3 months, he is treating me for tendenitious. I am sharing my experience in this review. The doctor's staff is a reflection of his bedside manner. They are Gracious, Polite, Professional and Caring. The Doctor explained my problem and the treatment he recommended. He told me that I should see relief with-in 24-48 hours. Also, if there was any concerns to call and he would be available immediately. I did find improvement within 2 days. Over the past several years Dr. Steven Sclamberg has attended to several situations that necessitated orthopedic care. Most recently was a knee replacement. His patience, understanding of my particular situation and his skill at making this experience (and the outcome) a positive one was none other than outstanding.

I have been a patient of Dr Steven Sclamberg for 7 years. Over the course of that time span I have had the misfortune of tearing my rotator cuff THREE times (2x in my right shoulder and 1x on my left). Each eventually required surgery. Fortunately I had the best Orthopedic Surgeon in Chicagoland. Dr Sclamberg is caring, attentive, thorough, and most importantly a super star of a surgeon. Following each surgery, Dr Sclamberg ordered an aggressive time frame of Physical Therapy and would gauge my progress. His follow through and perseverance allowed me to regain 100% of my motion! I needed a double hip replacement desperately, it was bone on bone. It was so painful and I could barely walk. I had already gone to a Orthopedic Surgeon, but the doctor had no bedside manner or personality for that matter. I couldn’t deal with the guy. Then I went to see Dr Sclamberg. His staff was very professional, I’ve never had a problem booking an appointment or getting from the car to the office. Dr Sclamberg himself is the epitome of a kind, caring doctor. I have been a patient of Dr. Sclamberg’s for about 2 ½ years. I had my first visit due to a knee injury that made it difficult to even walk. I was able to get an appointment super fast, and ended up having surgery within a month of the initial injury! Not only is Dr. Sclamberg a great surgeon with a very friendly demeanor, but his team is great as well. His PA, Melanie, is also very skilled and knowledgeable. She can answer your questions just as well as Dr. Sclamberg, and she is trained and capable to provide many different treatments. Fortunately/unfortunately I have had many other reasons to come back to receive care, and in spite of my physical struggles, I look forward to the positive and friendly atmosphere that Dr. Sclamberg and his staff provide! Dr. Sclamberg did full hip replacement June 9th. 8 weeks later I walk 2 miles every morning and average 10,000 steps per day. I'm still 4 weeks away from going back to the gym but who cares! I feel great. No more pain or depression. Oh by the way, I'm 64 years old.

On Thursday i had a 2:30 appointment in Skokie on Golf Road. I received a call two hours prior confirming my appointment. I was told to wait in my car and text the office when i arrived. I arrived 30 minutes ago welt and did as instructed. At 2:18 i received a text to go upstairs Initially i was confused when i entered office. The outside of the office was for a “med spa” but a piece of paper indicated it was for Dr Sclamberg. The office had 4-5 people waiting in seats. A woman told me they were busy and i should come back in 15-30 minutes and there was no place for me to sit. I told her i had received a text to come upstairs. She said she didn’t send me the text and didn’t know who had sent it and the waiting room was full and no room for me. I asked her if she had paperwork for me to fill out. Her desk was a mess. A laptop was out and several Id’s were sitting on the desk. A man approached her and asked how much longer the wait would be. He had been sitting there an hour. He had a 1:30 appt and it was already 2:30 I rescheduled my appointment then. I will cancel it next week. The whole scene was very chaotic and unprofessional. Did simultaneous shoulder (rotator cuff) and knee surgeries during the same operation. Still can't believe Dr Sclamberg's acumen with his equipment, very little pain after surgery, only a few ibuprofen needed, my recovery so much faster than others I know who got the same surgery. Stay away from this place. Nice doctor. Staff is terrible. Made sure to get my co-payment and credit card number incase any left over charges after insurance. Nurse was supposed to call me with my MRI order. Nobody ever called me. Going on two weeks, still waiting.

Before I saw him, then he made me go through painful physical therapy (even when the therapist told him it wasn’t working) when I asked to see him( in the same office , 5 feet away, he wanted to charge me again!) he was clearly out for my insurance . I had two visits at his office in Skokie, IL, Dr Sclamberg was very thorough, attentive, jovial, and caring. I felt safe and that I was heard. I highly recommend him, his assistant nurse, Maria, also, very nice person. Overall a great experience.

Fraud! Asks for CC when making appointment then charged me $250 and I didn't even see him! I missed the appointment but charged my card! I called them and they said the they charge $250 for no show. Ridiculous! Stay away!

Had shoulder replacement surgery and can’t say enough about Dr. Sclamberg and his staff. The PT’s Max and Colleen are also phenomenal. If you need shoulder surgery this should be you choice!

In fact my trust is so deep that I've taken 3 of my children to him and reccomend him to everyone who needs a thoughtful, amazing and honest surgeon. I am in the Northshore Network & a very active person, as well as a Yoga Instructor. I went to see a Northshore surgeon about my shoulder which was causing me great pain; I could not take it anymore. The surgeon who saw me told me that I needed a shoulder replacement, but I should wait till the pain is most intolerable because shoulder replacements are usaully good for about 8 - 12 years for a person in my activity range; and there are no post-shoulder replacement..replacement procedures and we both agreed to hold off as we both agreed that I will live well past 20+ more years. So I dealt with the pain for another 2 months at which point a friend, who had a shoulder replacement gave me another doctor within Northshore for a second opinion. The second opinion was that I could do a partial shoulder replacement. Once again I withdrew and tolerated the pain. At some random moment in time I was at a dinner with businesses acquaintances and their spouses. Conversation came around to my yoga background and, during the conversation, we were talking about an inversion that I loved to do, but could no longer perform because the joy was lost in the pain. Coincidentally, the wife of a business associate told me she had the same journey regarding doctors recommending a shoulder replacement, but then she saw Dr Sclamberg for a second opinion and, though she stated recovery (as with all shoulder surgeries,) was a bit rough, she declared that Dr Sclamberg does excellent work and I should see him for a THIRD opinion. So I went to Dr Sclamberg with my MRI DVD and associated paperwork. He looked at the paperwork, then the DVD. He then reviewed the notes from previous docs, looked at me with a quizzical look ; and asked if I had a copy of my X-Rays? I found this somewhat awkward and told him that the doctors told me that the details they needed to know could not be diagnosed via X-Rays; it was a waste of time and money; the MRI's tell the story. Dr. Sclamberg then politely asked if I would be willing to take a few X-Rays while I was in his office. I complied and about 15 minutes later, I was back in his office and he started pointing out what he observed. Basically he said that based on the MRI, I did not need a shoulder replacement. He then said that a partial shoulder replacement made more sense, BUT he felt that he could relieve my pain without a shoulder replacement. He then showed me the X-Ray and told me that my shoulder was impinged and would I be willing to try a "clean-out" because he thought that would be the least intrusive and should work. The following attests to Dr Sclamberg's honesty... At this point I looked Dr Sclamberg in the eye and said/asked; "Do yoiu mean to say if I do a clean-out tyou can guarantee that the pain will go away?!" Without skipping a beat, Dr Sclamberg responded with; "No, but I can promise you that the pain will not be worse; and you will need physical therapy afterwards." It's been roughly 5 years since the procedure and the results exceeded expectations. I returned to teaching yoga roughly 6 weeks after the procedure and, yes the physical therapy (which I did elsewhere) was a bit painful, but as the physical therapy sessions went on, the pain reduced to practically pain free. So there are no misunderstandings, I feel very confident with the Northshore Network. I have the best General Practitioner Doctor (Dr. John Revis) and the best eye doctor (Dr. Marian Macsai). And Dr. Sclamberg does share his results with my general practitioner at Northshore, so there are no disconnects. In conclusion, please consider seeing Dr Sclamberg for a first, second and/or third opinion; he is the best! And, though even out of network, I had no problem getting the procedure covered with my insurance I am in the Northshore Network & a very active person, as well as a Yoga Instructor. … More

Sclamberg is a nice guy, I'll give him that. He also has an awful staff working for him. He did an average job on my shoulder. I am still getting billed from my surgery over 10 months ago. They also charged me so he could sign his name on 5 pieces of paper so I could take a leave of absence from work. WOW! Don't Recommend.

I initially saw Dr Sclamberg for a shoulder injury in 2007 that required surgery. De Sclamberg is an amazing and compassionate doctor that I often see when needed for other issues, even scheduling a visit when flying to IL from VA for a much needed issue with my hip.

Dr. Sclamberg is the great! He took care of my 94-year-old mother who broke her hip and did a excellent job! His bedside manner is phenomenal. I've never seen a more caring doctor! He literally saved my mother's life! She is walking and enjoying her life immensely! We are so grateful to Dr. Sclamberg and recommend that should you need any ortho work he's the guy for you! Best of the best!

Had shoulder replacement surgery in October and have been cleared to play golf in April. I feel great and appreciated his honesty and surgical talents. I also did my physical therapy at his office. Max and Coleen the PTs were knowledgeable and helped me immensely with my recovery. Surgery is always the last option but If your issue is a shoulder I strongly suggest you see Dr. Sclamberg.

I had an appointment with Dr. Sclamberg to check my knee MRI results and when I got to the health center, they told me the radiologist report wasn't ready. Even if he has access to the images, Dr. Sclameberg refused to check them and see if at first glance something looks very wrong. After 2 weeks, I either got any recommendations of do's and don't s (Eg. Ice? Heat?). I wasted a lot of time already as well. This has been extremely frustrating.

Dr. Sclamberg is one of the most caring ortho surgeons I have seen. I found Dr. Sclamberg when a previous surgeon didn't know how to help me. There was no clear cut diagnosis prior to heading into surgery and he was confident and not afraid to take on my case. He found exactly what was wrong and fixed what had sent me to the ER multiple times. He does what is right for the patient and is a very understanding health care professional. I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend him to others.

he is good, i am guessing, with common, simple problems. if you have any other health issues that may require a different approach to treatment or surgery, he is not the guy for you, imo. i have a connective tissue disorder (that causes weakened collagen), which he pretty much laughed off and ignored. according to all my other doctors, it IS imperative that my ortho takes that into account while deciding how to correct damaged joints and tendons.

I've had 2 surgeries performed by Dr. Sclamberg. I've had no issues since. I'm glad I had Dr. Sclamberg as my surgeon.

My mom just had her shoulder surgery. Great results. Very knowledgeable doctor. The Presence Saint Francis Hospital nurses were kind and helpful.

Dr Sclamberg and his office staff are all great! I injured my knee and had to have surgery. Everything was well explained, appointments were easily scheduled or rescheduled if necessary, PT was offered in same office, and everyone is super nice. I couldn't be happier with the level of care I received. EXCELLENT doctor and very helpful staff. Oh and one BIG thing I forgot to mention... they are almost always running on time. I don't think I have ever had to wait more than maybe 5 minutes and then once in the room get seen immediately. Dr Sclamberg and his office staff are all great!
