One of the worst doctors I've been to. Acted inconvenienced by my appointment, did not do what I asked him - which was simply look at some places on me because of a history with skin cancer. He had med students with him so he used my visit as a teaching moment. He saw fluid in my legs and kept pushing until I said it hurt - then kept on. I had a Basel cell carcinoma mole on my lower left leg removed in Feb 2018. Dr.. Kimmel removed the mole( smaller than a dime) with an incision that was almost 3 inches. He didn't put enough stiches in so when they were removed it popped open leaving a gaping hole. After 4 antibiotics ( NO INFECTION) and 2 return visits,he toldme to return in 4 months. My gaping draining wound was no better. Went to Wond care on my own and am still being treated. It's now Mid October. Incompetent arrogant

folks here are great to deal with. an incredible caring staff of professionals take care of you every step of the way. they explain things to you in easy to understand terms and want you to be comfortable and your cae is paramount. this for sure is my place of choice for skin related items.

Nov 16 had precancerous mole removed and said I needed surgery. Scheduled surgery in Jan 17. He looked at my chart & said we could do an incision instead. I asked what changed & he said "you don't need the surgery; some of my patients want to have a surgery just to know enough of the area was removed, it’s a lot less expensive to do the incision than surgery”. In Nov (bad ins), I would have paid $600+. In Jan (good ins), I paid $20 copay. I now question the integrity on doing what's best for me

After three previous skin cancer surgeries in different parts of NC by two different Drs, I relied upon Dr. Kimmel to handle my latest. The growth was the size of the end of a pencil eraser located on my left cheek. All other surgeries were on my face as well. Dr. Kimmel performed a 1.5 incision 5 times the size of the growth. Turns out, upon reviewing my insurance companies explanation of benefits, he earned twice as much from repairing the wound than from the removal of the growth. Ridiculous
