Been going to him since he arrived in Hernando years ago. He’s money hungry and wants to see you for every ailment. If you go in there with a runny nose then don’t even mention you have an ear ache because that’s another appointment and another insurance claim for him. He won’t renew my prescription for fish oil even though he recommended it to me because he wants to see me yet again. The fish oil can be bought over the counter but my insurance will pay for it so it is cheaper for me. However if I have to go to him every time I need a bottle of it then it’s more expensive then just buying it. He wants you to follow his advice only if it benefits him monetarily. If you need antibiotics or a shot then he’s your guy because that’s about all he does but only one ailment at a time. After reading the reviews seems he has a habit of this. Beware. Excellent physician, he spends enough time with his patients to really understand their medical issues. He is the type of doctor that we wish all others were like.

Had an appointment to day at 9:00. The receptionist told me that the doctor is not here and I have to wait 30 minutes for him to arrive. I told her That I can't wait. she very roodly told me that the doctor will not renew my meds with out seeing me. Good doctor but price little bit high

Seemed to be ok, but I was not happy with sloppy exam room. Made me a little uneasy.

I have been a patient of Dr. Patel for years. He always has time to see me if I need a appointment that day. He draws the blood tests and sends them off, then calls you with the results. I appreciate his thoughtful and caring nature. He is soft spoken and I have hearing aids so we do repeat ourselves. His office staff is always polite and helpful. He does see me every three months but can be shorter if my blood pressure is not where he wants it. He likes to catch problems before they become big! Some days I have to wait a bit for my appointment but that is because he takes anyone that needs him that day. He also offers evening and Saturday morning appointments. I have some serious health problems that are taken care of by specialists but I am always glad to get back to Dr.Patel. Like visiting an old friend but you better do as he tells you. I've never had a injection so beautifully done than with Dr. Patel! I'm usually a little anxious or nervous about getting shots, but every time I've had an injection by Dr. Patel, I'm usually surprised that it's already over because I never felt it! He's thorough and gentle, exactly what you need for someone anxious to see the doctor!

This is an example of a physician who should not only reported to the AMA, but Medicare, as well. I had two office visits with him and both times he not only talked right over me, but rushed me out, not even discussing my medications, as to what I was taking, nor giving me any perscriptions for them. I have Medicare, and my co-pay with all of my other physicians past and present, has never gone over 20.00 to 30.00 per visit. This Dr. gave me a hefty copay of 100.00, and harassed me about it, when I told him that I did not have that much to pay, as I am on a fixed income, and my husband was unemployed. He also wanted to see me two weeks later for no other reason than to bilk Medicare, as I am not suffering from any illness that would deem it necessary to come in every two weeks, and no other physicians that I ever saw required me to come in before a 3 month period of time. Now, for the worst part. I ran out of perscription medications, and he told his receptionist not to authorize any refills for me until I came in for my next visit. So I was without my medication for days. In the interim, I had an episode of vomiting into my throat and mouth, while asleep, and aspirated it, almost causing a fatality on my part, as I suffer from gastric reflux, and one of the medications which he refused to authorize for me, was necessary to prevent such an event such as that. This so called Physician, should be shut down for malpractice, to say the least, as he simply only cares about his pocket, not the patient, and the reason that he wanted to pull me in every two weeks for a visit was so he could bilk Medicare, as he saw dollar signs when he became aware of my coverage. I urge all who are fortunate enough to read this, NOT to take your lives into your hands with this highly unprofessional, unethical, rude and greedy fake of a doctor. If there was a lower rating than 1 star, like zero, he would get that from me, for certain. I will not be returning to him, at all. Dr. Patel is always available to see you if you need a same day appointment. You can even call him if you are travelling and he will try to help. He is very soft spoken and very kind. He will refer you if he feels it is necessary. His office is not fancy and his prices are reasonable. He tries to prevent problems before they become a serious problem. He does his own blood draws so I don't have to go to a lab and always calls me personally with the results.
