This quack said i had leukemia i knew better he didn’t listen to half the things i said he wanted to hospitalize me and send me to a cancer center he got mad and slammed the door when i said no i think it’s because i have insurance and he didn’t get that extra cash turns out all i had was a terrible viral infection I’m feeling normal now if i could give zero stars i would he shouldn’t be a dr

Dr. Avery is a terrible Dr. Do not ever see him.

Took the time to find my diagnosis, when others just blew me off.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Will never go back to Scott Hospital because of this dr. Absolutely no bedside manner and treats all teenage girls as they are pregnant and is very rude when they say no. Did not order new tests that would have helped to diagnose her condition. Due to his negligence and uncaring attitude she suffered for months in pain. Take my advise...drive to Floyd County Hospital and be taken seriously.

Nurses were amazing. I went in for a migraine and Dr Avery was acting like I was pregnant and not telling my mom. He wouldn’t believe me when I told him I wasn’t. He made me take a urine test. He pressed so hard on my stomach I vomited(he was feeling to see if my uterus was swollen with a child). He was very very rude. Very cocky. Slammed the door while I had a severe migraine. Just overall the worst doctor I’ve ever had. But the nurses were awesome.

Same day sick visit

I my girls and all my grandchildren like Dr.Avery and all his staff. They are a very friendly and family oriented team.

No bedside manner, no empathy towards patient. Attitude from the get go. My vet treats my animals better than this medical doctor does people.

Unfortunately I did not read the reviews that dr. Avery's office had gotten from other people from speaking about how dr. Avery is quick to diagnose something to how rude his office staff is I called today to see if they accepted my fiance's insurance which they did and they were accepting new patients I wanted him to have a wellness check he didn't have a family doctor assigned to him got a call back and was told they wouldn't accept him...Sounds like where the lucky ones after reading reviews.

The entire staff has always been helpful and friendly. My kids always love going to see the doctor now! Highly recommend!

My kids and I saw Dr. Avery for many years. Over time I noticed that his office nearly always gives a misdiagnosis. From the simplest thing to more complicated issues, they have almost always been wrong. Dr. Avery is very kind and easy to like, but he's very quick to toss a diagnosis at you without doing anything to confirm it, and he will get pretty huffy if you question him or request testing to back up his theories. I believe his biggest downfall is that he doesn't listen to patients.

My whole family use to go here, Unfortunately over the years your office & your staff has become awful!!!! Waiting time is crazy & even when get into a room, it still takes another hour to get seen. The nurses will go out of your room, then you will over hear them talking about you to the others gossiping, judging, it's extremely unprofessional (YOU GUYS HAVE THIN WALLS, YOUR PATIENT'S CAN HERE YOU). Things have only gotten worse, we have all now switched doctors.

Takes forever to actually be seen by a doctor. The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. The only on that is nice, and does act professional would be Dr. Avery himself, but you hardly ever actually get to see him anymore.

Dr Avery when with you is very good; however office operations is horrid. Pharmacy called in refill to office last week; and I called office this morning to check status. "Oh we ignore pharmacy refill request" was what they explained. Discontinuing my medicine has risks of stroke and seizure. They didn't call, text, email, or use portal to notify me. Went to office for 3:30 appointment taken to room within 10 minutes ... waited in room overy hour before being seen.
