Completely unprofessional. She didn't give me time to properly explain my situation before prescribing medication. I have seen her in the past and received one diagnosis and unfortunately she left that practice and I stopped seeing anyone. I recently decided to seek out her help at her new location, and I regret it. I saw her write down a different diagnosis, and I asked for clarification on my diagnosis to which she responded why I needed to know the diagnosis and was I applying for disability. I said no and she said it didn't matter then. I told her it was important to me to advocate for myself and do my research and asked her if she was told she had a disorder wouldn't she want to educate herself on it and she replied she didn't have a disorder and told me I wasn't a psychiatrist. By this time I was in tears and she said something else must be wrong with me because people don't cry like this. I again tried to explain I just wanted know what is wrong with me. It was a terrible.

I would not make any referrals to Dr. Shamim Malik, MD she is not professional;l at all. Beware!

Very good psychiatrist for my long-term, chronic condition. She listens to me, answers my questions appropriately, and follows up with me as needed.
