Dr. Sarita Duchatelier

I don't know this Doctor. But, I spoke to a young girl in her office who was extremely rude. She snapped at my question and practically hung up on me. Very disappointing for a "health care" office. The receptionist is a reflection of the doctor, unfortunately.

Rude office and very unprofessional.

Dr. D has been great with my son. She has seen him since he was a toddler. Dr. D would be a good choice for a neurology visit.

After 2 weeks of severe headaches causing an array of symptoms in my 8 year old I ended up taking him to the Emergency Room when he woke up one night in severe head pain, nausea, blurred vision at 2am. The emergency room did not find anything alarming and referred us to Dr. Duchatelier. I made an appointment with her first thing in the morning when the office opened. And he was seen within 2 days. My initial impression of the office was that it was not cared for and an environment I would’ve walked into 20 years ago. It was dirty. There were dirty tissues on the ground and the floor had visible dirt along the floor boards. Dr.Duchatelier was not very impressionable to my standards. Though I did not let her know I was a healthcare provider and my husband a physician. She spoke to me as if I was uneducated. She specifically used the words “wasting my time.” I couldn’t believe a physician told me I basically wasted her time because I did not take my son to a PCP first. Even though I explained to her we just moved to New York about 3 months ago and many of our insurance covered Pediatric PCP have a waiting list. I have never been spoken to by a healthcare provider the way Dr.Duchatelier spoke to me. She does not know how to speak to parents and she has no compassion. We will not go back to her and I do not recommend her. Incredibly rude when I asked her to please repeat something. I work in Healthcare and would never speak to someone the way that I was spoken to. I could go on, but I'll just leave it at that.

She was very rude and disrespectful, if I could give her less than 1 star I would!

She is extremely rude! If I could give her less than 1 star I would. Did not have a good experience at all. Stay away!!!

I left her office crying. Son had a seizure at 11. First one. Loved her at the hospital. Appointment a week later...condescending. Said she didn’t want to spend 2 hours answering questions after being 1.5 hrs late. Any time I tried to clarify things she made me feel stupid or like I just wasn’t parenting right. It was awful. I have a masters degree and I’m a teacher. I was just a worried mom wanting to hear that I was doing the best I could and looking for any strategies to help not have another seizure. I could go on with all the things she said. I had been looking forward to the appointment and she left me with conflicting information, a hesitancy about asking her anything else, and a feeling of failing as a parent.

I brought my son to her to get a referral to get tested for autism. She sat there telling me "he doesn't look autistic". I fought her to get the referral... got it, had him tested and sure enough he has autism and sensory processing disorder.

Dr. Duchatelier was extremely thorough with my daughter's examination of a possible concussion and is absolutely one of the nicest doctor's that I've ever met. I highly recommend her.

Do not go to this doctor; she completely misdiagnosed my 7 y.o. daughter. She said that my daughter needed HEAVY MEDICATION & that her seizures would NEVER go away for life. If I listened to her, my daughter would be a completely different little girl today. I went for a 2nd opinion, and our new doctor said that if Duchatelier simply took the time to "zoom in" on the brain waves, she would have seen their origin/timing, showing it was a condition she would outgrow quickly & not require ANY meds!

Dr. Duchatelier is a bad person. I was in her office in 2014 with my daughter I explained the symptoms to the doctor and she said that my daughter was FAKING it and wrote a prescription for WATER. She has no compassion for the patients. My daughter has a rare illness that was diagnosed by other helpful doctors at a children hospital. I would NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone. Save your copayment money for someone who cares!!!
