Dr. Robert Orin Holmes JR.

I didn't know if I could ever find a new Rheumatologist to fill my previous docs shoes... I am grateful and blessed to have found Dr. Holmes. He is very thorough and compassionate.

Dr. Robert Holmes is the best! He really listens! He explains issues to you very well. He can diagnose you when no one else can. He will then put a treatment plan together. He is very intelligent! I dont know where I would be without him.

I’ve been going to Dr. Holmes for almost 3 years now. He listens and cares about his patients and fights for what they need. He’s funny and makes you laugh during the appointment. He’s very smart and knowledgeable.

My husband has been chasing a mystery Illness for 3 years. Dr.Holmes took his words at face value and decided to run tests we would have never dreamed of. He’s going to figure this out one way or another. He is quirky but in a good way. He made us laugh at an otherwise grim situation. He showed compassion and caring. My only regret is how long between appointments my husband has to wait for results. We need to know what’s wrong. But with an excellent practice like this I guess you have to wait. I enjoyed talking with this Doctor so much. he listened to me and didn't mind answering all of my questions. A breath of fresh air in this time of hurry up and see the next patient.i felt valued and cared for. thank you so much for th compassionate concern

I would give him zero stars, if allowed, but hopefully he will see this a take a remedial lesson in humility & empathy!!!!!!!!!! As a former medical provider myself, I've been in the "doctor environment" for over 25 years and I was appalled by his lack of beside manner. Upon arrogantly walking into the exam room, Dr. Holmes didn't make eye contact or offer a greeting, but went straight to his desk and asked, "What am I seeing you for today?" Um, ok, did you NOT read the several pages of info that I spent hours online filling out prior to my appointment????? Dr. Holmes has perfected the inability to connect or show any sign of compassion and was insulting to say the least. To top it off, he kept saying that I seemed angry and recommended a book online that triggered my horrific childhood. Instead of trying to calm the situation, he cowardly walked out and told the assistant that if I wanted to see him again, to follow-up in four months. I was then released into the maze of Radiology and Laboratory to have the necessary--and unnecessary--tests (that he requested without my permission) done. Do you think he called with my results? Nope and neither did his nurse. Needless to say, I have been failed by yet another provider and will continue to advocate for answers to regain my health and life back. The absolute worst doctor I have ever seen. I have no comments on his competence - I never made it past the first appointment due to his horrid bedside manner. Arrogant and emotionally abusive, which was a shame as there are limited resources in the area, especially for young mothers on a limited income.

I have have had 4 Rheumatologist during my RA experience. Dr. Holmes is absolutely the most welcoming, friendly, through one I have ever seen. He is simply the very best!

Absolutely love Dr. Holmes. He has discovered stuff wrong I didn't know! He takes his time with you and makes sure you know what your expectations are. They may not be perfect but hopefully they may be better.

I have to say Dr.Holmes is a really fantastic doctor, who cares about his patients,and he takes his time and really does everything he can to help. Very knowledgeable and he really knows what is he doing.He has lots of patients but he always takes his time and listens to my concerns and answers my questions.

After years of chronic pain, Dr. Holmes discovered that I had RA and started treatment. Within a few weeks the medications started relieving some of my pain. Dr. Holmes takes his time with his patients and is very thorough. He actually listens to you and includes how you feel about what he thinks is best for you.

Dr Holmes spent our time together staring at his laptop. I assumed he was looking at my lab work and leaned in to see. He was looking at the weather. On another visit he showed me pictures of a vehicle he had bought rather than discussing me or my concerns. Once in the 3.5 years that I have been seeing him he held out his hands in front of me. I seriously didn’t know why. So I said”what?” He wanted to see my hands. That was the first time he ever examined my hands even though I told him every visit that they were worse. He said to me “ wow, I think you’re getting worse.” I couldn’t even speak. On another visit he discussed tropical parasites and rare diseases that though interesting, had nothing to do with my diagnosis. I really can’t afford to keep paying and not get any better. I’ve gotten worse each year. I’m seeking help elsewhere.

Dr Robert Homes is very informative about his Profession. He knows what his patient needs to help them improve their quality of life. My Family is pleased w/ his treatment of Mom's severe rheumatoid arthritis.

Highly knowledgeable. Takes time to listen. I was pleasantly surprised at the length of the visits.

What a assets to Carolina East. He has been on track with my PsA and my RA, is so much better. Great bedside manners! I'm so glad my Internal medicine doctor referred me to him.

I love Dr. Holmes! He has great bedside manners! I was very impressed by his knowledge, care and concern about my health! Thinking about adding his wife to my team as well! I think they would make a super great team in managing my care!

My mom took my sister to see him. Insulted Trump, insulted my mom , insulted my sister.His ego was super inflated and his bedside maner is awful. Told my sister her doctor was wrong about everything. He called them a liar several times.

My first and only appointment with this Dr. was awful. When I told him my grandma had scleroderma, he retracted his lips, stiffened up and made hands claw like. Very unprofessional and completely out of line. Needless to say I was very offended and would not recommend this Dr to anyone.

Dr Holmes is amazing. So caring, listening to my concerns and addressing them in a meaningful manner. Diagnosed my problem after 20 years of problems. Also available for same day, acute care.Thanks, Doc.

I have never seen a doctor the caliber of Dr Holmes. I trust this man with my life. He is an absolutely brilliant diagnostician and will not stop until he gets to the bottom of things. He is kind and patient along with being brilliant... What a rare combination! This area has a rare gem in Dr Holmes! I could search the world over and never find another doctor of his equal.

This guy is absolutely amazing! He gave me more compassion and attention in one visit than I've gotten from all of my appointments and doctors combined in the last 3 years! He is competent, efficient, caring, and thorough! In one word...he is a Godsend.

Dr. Holmes listens and addresses all issues and seems genuinely concerned about my health. He takes the affordability of my medications into consideration. I feel that I am getting quality care for my RA and related health conditions from him and his staff and would highly recommend him.

He is a great Dr that is not afraid to tell you what some of the other problems could be along with your actual issue. It took me a couple of visits to adjust to that but then I realized how true it was and he helped in that area as well.

Dr. Holmes takes a very special interest in my continuing progress. Before consulting with Dr Holmes other physicians would not take the time to try to find an answer to my problems. He does a lot of testing and is determined to find answers. I have recommended him to family and friends as we are lucky to have someone of his caliber practicing in our area.
