Stay well clear of this psychiatrist. His "treatment" precipitated my near-lethal suicide attempt because at the lowest point in my life, he displayed zero empathy, compassion, or caring towards me. In fact, he treated me with outright contempt and hostility. I was "treated" by Dr. Albanese as an inpatient at Menninger Hospital in Houston, Texas about 5 years ago. Keep in mind that I had been in psychiatric care for 10 years for bipolar disorder before I even met him. He used "fuck" during his conversation to me in the presence of a medical student who was shadowing hi. He reported substantial incorrect factual information about me in the medical records to cast me in a negative light. He wrote a diagnosis on my chart that he NEVER discussed with me. I was severely traumatized by my experience with him: I lost my faith and trust in the mental health provider system and in psychiatrists in general which I am only now starting to regain as I work with my current psychiatrist.
