Charged me 400 dollars to remove one tiny mole on my back. I don’t think he even bothered to run it through my insurance. IF HE SAYS HE THINKS HE SHOULD REMOVE A MOLE SAY NO. Go to someone who will run it through your insurance or someone who won’t charge you a arm and a leg to do it.

Lots of hidden fees and low transparency about pricing. It cost me over $600 to get 2 moles removed when I was told by three different people that it would cost closer to $200. The service is fine, but I am kicking myself for not reading the reviews beforehand. If you have a high deductible or are paying out of pocket, I would definitely look elsewhere. No one in this office necessarily did anything wrong, but no one really tried very hard to make me feel comfortable during my visit here. Nobody was very forthcoming with information when I asked questions and the staff wasn’t very friendly. I tried asking several people some very general questions regarding how insurance usually covers their basic appointments and no one would answer me. The front desk staff told me to ask one of the medical assistants and the medical assistant wouldn’t give me a straight answer either. At the end of my visit the front desk tried to collect a copay from me (there’s no mention of a copay on my insurance card) which means they know something about how the insurance covers their appointments, they just didn’t want to tell me anything until after I had seen the doctor. Overall, not a bad place, but don’t expect them to treat you like a real person or answer your questions. Dr. Stone and team are terrible. Any company who has to come on here and give themselves 5 stars in response to my negative review is shady. Charges are out of control and their team is trash when you have a complaint. Seriously, what company gives themselves a rating? Let alone a 5 star rating!?

We had a horrible experience - would not recommend to anyone. We made the appt with Dr Stone to treat a rash on my toddler's neck/chin. We decided to go to a dermatologist because we wanted the rash treated carefully since it was on his face/neck where the skin is sensitive and we didn't want scars. First of all, we didn't see the Dr we made an appt with but rather an assistant. She immediately put a very harsh toxin on his face/neck and told us to wash it off in an hr or 2. He was in severe pain for 2 days with over 20 huge blisters and swelling. It took almost a month for the wounds/scabs to heal and now has scars. She did not warn us or give any info re reactions, options, etc. We were rushed right out. They should not be medical professionals - horribly negligent! In regards to hidden fees: This office does procedures that are not covered by insurance (like removing precancerous moles), does not wait to do a prior authorization or make sure you understand what you are about to have to pay for and then leaves you with the $100+ charge for each mole removed. My insurance came back and said that what they performed was not under my coverage. If I could do 0 stars I would. His office told me I had a precancerous mole and so I of coarse agreed to have it removed. Did not have the money to pay the bill that came back after it went through insurance. After just 2 months they sent it to collections. Once in collections it quickly escalated to subpoena me for a court hearing. In the end, my bill that was about $300 went to over $1,000 because of attorney and court fees. Today I was paid by my job and they garnished money from my paycheck!!!! This is a mole removed March of 2018. This office is terrible. They use the fact that someone hears precancerous and wants it taken care of against that person. I will tell everyone I know and run into asking about dermatologist that this office is filled with crooks. BEWARE OF HIDDEN COSTS AND LACK OF TRANSPARENCY. I had been a patient for almost a year seeing Dr. Stone for acne. Dr. Stone is very knowledgeable and the office staff has been very friendly, but here is my largest problem. Dr. Stone will perform services on you without discussing costs, letting you know what he's doing, or even asking if you want them done. Then one day you will receive a bill from his office and you will be expected to pay it. I called their billing department and they just said that Dr. Stone does what he thinks is appropriate, but they can put it on my chart if they want him to discuss it with me first. REALLY? I shouldn't have to ask for him to discuss things with me first. They wouldn't waive my $85 bill and, as a result, they lost out on hundreds of future dollars. I cancelled my next appointment on the spot. Find a better place with more transparent. Also, if you end up seeing the PA instead of Dr. Stone (you won't know ahead of time), you just wasted your money. She doesn't do anything but ask you how things are going and says she'll see you in a few months. BEWARE OF HIDDEN COSTS AND LACK OF TRANSPARENCY. I had a very positive experience at the office and with Dr. Stone but I feel that they are very dishonest about their billing and fees. I was told by Dr. Stone that if I had to come back after my mole removal then they would not charge for the second visit. I was called back, but was billed for the second visit. I called about the discrepancy and they said they would remove the charge, but I received a bill a month later still billing me for the second charge. If nothing else, this is very disorganized. For a single mole removal I was charged $846.00. Maybe this is just a reflection of the corrupt health care system, but I think it is simply insane. I would not recommend this office to anyone, unfortunately. I just visited them today! And I was SO NERVOUS! Went in for suspicious moles and had two removed for testing. Rachel is a very nice receptionist! :) I was more than 10 mins late to my 9:50am appointment (I showed up at 10:10) due to some unexpected traffic! I called to let them know and they still were able to work with me! I did however wait about 30 mins before being seen and due to me being so nervous about being there in the first place it made it seem like forever, but as soon as he came in, he had amazing bedside manner and instantly made me feel relieved! I am still awaiting results on the moles removed, but his attitude made me feel reassured that no matter the outcome he can help me take proper steps! Thanks for treating me good Dr.Stone & team! -Mele Side note, Not sure what everyone is talking about with the hidden charges I guess it’s too early for me to tell? I went to see Dr Stone regarding some issues I had been having for a while. As soon as he came in, he sat down in front of me, told me the problems I was dealing with were irrelevant and that I was wrong about my struggles. He then gave me a prescription which I had no need for. He just didn't listen to what I was saying. Despite him being a doctor, I don't think he is able to give me a diagnosis with a 5 second examination. He was very unprofessional and rude. I did not like his attitude towards me and he treated me like I was dumb for even bringing in this issue. Don't see him if you would like to be listened to or treated kindly. I will not return to him again.

My daughter and I have both been to Dr. Stone over the years. I like Dr. Stone himself--but the PAs he has employed have been abysmal. One of them repeatedly insisted that my daughter deserved "perfect skin." Quite a promise. And he kept trying to make appointments for me to have laser treatments--for purely cosmetic reasons--when all I wanted to was to have my skin inspected for skin cancer, which runs in my family. Dr. Stone is good--but the big push for cosmetic procedures I can't afford was really aggressive. We won't be going back. My daughter and I have both been to Dr. Stone over the years. Very unethical, my college daughter went in to get some acne medication. The lady working with her, asked if she wanted two pimples reduced. It involves a small amount of medicine being injected. She was NOT told that this was a considered a surgical procedure. They charged us and our insurance for a surgery!! They took advantage of my daughter. They knew that they would be billing these small injections as a surgery and not informing her before hand. Beware!! We tried to work this out with them

Although the medical care seem adequate, the charges were unbelievable. My family doctor removed and tested a mole for $600 less than Dr Stones PA. The entire appointment was less than 20 minutes and my bill was over $800. I work at a Dermatology office that is in no way affiliated with Dr. Stone's office, however, after reading a poor review below, I had to comment. When a patient is on Accutane, they must visit a doctor every month. True, bloodwork is not legally required to be on it, but I would consider it irresponsible and idiotic not to do it. If your insurance isn't covered by the hospital that does the blood work, that is between you and the hospital. Don't blame the doctor when he's doing what he thinks is best for his patients. In response to another bad review: Cryoing, or freezing, Aktinic Keratosis (AKs or pre-cancers) is deemed a surgical proceedure. It is a standard code that we use at the office I work at also, and every other Dermatologist in the world does too. You can blame the insurance company for calling it a surgery if you have such strong reservations about the wording used when billing office codes.
