Richard A Hefner

Doctor Hefner had been my doctor for over 20yrs and from my hometown out west. I liked having him as my GP and he was very thorough with my medical needs. Over the years, his original office staff had retired or moved on, but his new office staff is horrible. The whole practice has become so commercialized and totally lost the personal touch with patients. It's too bad that doctors lose long term patients because of an uncaring staff.

I've been with Dr. Hefner now for many years as my primary care physician. He does a great job explaining test results and what they mean in real world terms. I always leave the office feeling better educated about my body than when I walked in! Smart guy with a pleasant demeanor and a good sense of humor!

Would not call me back to discuss my elderly mother's issues that he never adequately addressed. He kept refilling the same prescriptions without ever recommending further tests or trying different options. Patient neglect which resulted in a fall and injury.

I've been a patient of Dr. Hefner's for several years and have always found him to be attentive. He thoroughly reviews annual blood results (and any other tests taken), listens to my concerns, provides detail information in lay-mans terms for ease of understanding, and never makes me feel as though he is rushing through the visit.

Dr. Hefner is willing to discuss your treatment with you to make sure you understand it. I appreciate being included in my own care very much.

Absolutely, without a doubt, the best Primary Care Physician (PCP) I've ever had! My cousin is a patient of his and recommended him to me several years ago. Dr. Hefner takes all the time that an issue requires and patiently explains why he makes the decisions he makes for my health. He was a year ahead of the COVID curve in telling me that I should double my Vitamin D3 intake for my immune system, heart, and general health. To those who complain about the length of time it takes to get an appointment with him, I say it's because he educates when he evaluates and that is priceless to a lot of people.

Very thankful for Dr. Hefner, he is thorough & thoughtful. He is knowledgeable and has wonderful bedside manner.

Love Dr. Hefner. He cares about his patients and takes time out of his own life to make sure they are ok. Went out of his way to check on my mother during a family tragedy.

I have been going to Dr Hefner for 13 years now and he is intelligent, compassionate, and kind. I have had many doctors over the years and he is my favorite. He is a good listener and I never feel rushed.

The office staff in this practice is terrible. I really like Dr. Hefner but the staff at this office are terrible. So terrible I had to change doctors. Unfortunate.

Dr. Hefner is a great family care doctor. His always takes the time to listen to my needs. He is updated on medical care. Very friendly office.

Dr. Hefner has been our PCP (primary care physician) every time we've lived in the Louisville area. We are absolutely satisfied with the care we have received under Dr. Hefner's care and look foward to having him back as our PCP in a month or so.

Dr. Hefner took time to explain everything he was doing and what he saw on test results. He took time to give perspective.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hefner for about 10 years, I absolutely love him, but lately I can't seem to get into to see him for 3-4 weeks out. Another doctor recommended I see my primary care because of some health issues I've been having and he was very concerned, I explained this girl scheduling, soonest they can "get me in" is 4 weeks out. It's getting absurd that you have to wait 30 days to see your primary care physician. Very frustrated and ready to start looking for a new doctor!!

Dr. Hefner is one of the most in-compassionate doctors I have ever encountered. He does not care about his patients just the money and his own narcissistic needs. He give Baptist East a very bad name!!!
