I can't say enough good things. I suffered a very traumatic dental experience as a child and the trauma from that incident has followed me my entire adult life. A combination of poor genetics and avoidance of routine dental visits is a recipe for disaster. I walked into this office with severe anxiety and shame. The entire staff was kind, supportive and patient. They did everything in their power to put me as ease. I had several teeth extracted. I can honestly say that the procedures were virtually painless. I felt the initial pinch when they administered the numbing medication. I would 100% recommend this office to anyone looking for a new practice. I walked in stressed and in tears due to anxiety. I walled out weeping tears of joy amd relief. This may seem a bit "much" but for those suffering in pain because they are too overwhelmed to go in for treatment, this is truly a lifeline. I love this office! Today was my first time at West Oakland Dental and the entire staff made me feel so welcome and comfortable. They were very honest about my dental needs, without trying to pressure me into more work then needed. Everything was explained clearly and put into terms I could understand. Dr. Allain is the captain of a great team of professionals. At one time, a visit to the dentist was a dreaded event. Today you are told, in advance, what to expect. Dr. Allain and his team care about the person sitting in the chair. Recently, while we were gettting xrays updated, the team member was cognizant of potential pain and made every effort to make it as comfortable as possible. I am not a dental expert, but, it appears Dr. Allain's office has modern equipment and practices modern techniques. All the dental work Dr. Allain has completed on me has been very durable. The implants have been (are) especially appreciated.

My first visit went well. I had a sit-down conversation about my general and dental health history, dental concerns, and goals. I was given a complete tour of the office and all the staff greeted me warmly. Everything was clean and tidy. Sarah was my hygienist and she was great. I had all my X-rays and peridonral measurements taken and then she proceeded to give me a very thorough cleaning. My only disappointment was that I didn’t get to meet Dr. Allain and more importantly, he didn’t look in my mouth or X-rays to tell me if I had any cavities. He was in “surgery” so I have to go back to meet with him.

I started coming here after I broke a tooth during the lunch hour and needed someone to see me on emergency. They were able to get me in right away. Due to the professionalism and quality of care I decided to switch my care to them. I have had bad experiences at prior dentists and have developed anxiety surrounding dental treatment.
