Easy to schedule. Very poor communication from him and especially his MA. Please educate her atleast on some of the conditions and treatments of cardiology. She did NOT come across as competent or professional on her calls or portal messages. Did not take my concerns seriously and apparently didn't remember them a few minutes after raising them. MA knew less than the average person on health care. She did not come across professionally.

Easy to eschedule but completely abysmal communication from staff especially his MA.

Dr Heckt is excellent I had procedure done at Baylor It went very well

TERRIBLE! I had a heart attack, he did the repair. At my follow up visit I told him I was having extreme shortness of breath, that I didn't have before the heart attack. It was so bad that I couldn't even walk to the bathroom without having to stop until I could catch my breath. And, I couldn't lift anything over a few pounds, because that caused trouble breathing. His response was that my heart was fine but it could be the meds they had me on. But, he didn't try to adjust them, or figure out what was causing my issue. I was unable to work after my heart attack because I couldn't do anything for longer than 20 mins. It took me 3 yrs to find a cardiologist that would listen to me, that I could afford. Turns out a have "broken heart syndrome" or partial heart failure. I wouldn't go back to him and I wouldn't recommend anyone to him. His surgical skills may be good, but his follow up is terrible, unsatisfactory and, in my opinion, malpractice (where I was concerned).

Existing patient for 12 years, his bad diagnosis caused to stall my life at early age.

Took my 82 year old mother to see Dr Hecht. Because we were 20 minutes late they cancelled her appointment. This is after my mother had called to insure they were in same office. We were told "yes". Then upon arriving at old office and visiting 2 floors we called again and found out they did move. So driving in pouring rain we arrive and wait until the doctor told us to re-schedule. So I am not impressed with lack of compassion towards someone who has blood pressure issues.

He has made sure I understand everything I need to know regarding my AVR, TIAs, stroke, medications and HBP. He has been very helpful to/for my family members as well. He has never been less than timely with my prescriptions.--Which is more than I can say for the pharmacy I use (yuck!).

Dr Hecht is great but good luck getting your meds on time. ! after 4 calls and 2 weeks still not sent to correct place! not at all happy about this.
