Dr. Philip Scheel

My experience was absolutely horrible. He is lazy and didn't even finish his medical education by attending the required fellowship. He caused me to end up with 4th stage cancer because he refused to test me or do anything except write me prescriptions which I refused and then he said I had a 'medication anxiety' which is just a better paying billing code. He falsified my records stating I had picked up mental medications and he 'confirmed' it when I have no idea what he is talking about. I think he is under the sheets with the other frauds in Humboldt causing the mental health and drug addiction grants in the millions to skyrocket by falsifying and stating people are on drugs or have some type of mental illness because we are worth more as a head count for a grant. He is one of the worst.

As far as I am concerned he is the only primary care physician in Humboldt County that actually cares about his patients. I have nightmare stories of 3 doctors I went to over the course of 5 years to find I was misdiagnosed or just ignored. The worst was a Dr. Rodney Swenson with a Dr. Phillip Olkin a close second. I was told I had COPD, Arthritis and several other things. I never got a blood test or any tests to determine the above. I went to Dr. Scheel, got diagnosed with heart disease and had an emergency 4 way heart bypass and then I was diagnosed with lung cancer. My COPD and arthritis went away after the heart surgery along with the other guesses my former doctors made.

Dr. Scheel is non-responsive to the needs of his patients when he can be bothered to remember them. He does not interpret test results and has told me it is not his job to contact specialists to find out what the results of ordered tests mean. However, he is unable to refer his patients to anyone closer than 90 miles away and more often much farther.
