Dr. Paul F Curtis

Dr. Curtis is a doctor’s doctor. I got his name from 3 other doctors. He’s very friendly, professional, and really gets to know you as a person. He diagnosed and effectively treated my difficult skin condition, when several derms before him couldn’t. One drawback: it took a long time to get an appointment - but it was worth the wait!

Barely checks your skin, didn't document existing moles or take pictures. Schedules return visits for biopsies for some reason when any other dermatologist (or even some primary care) will biopsy in the same visit. Maybe convenient for you, but not convenient for literally anyone else.

I was a patient of Dr Curtis for years and when I questioned my bill, I received a letter in the mail basically saying that he dropped me as a patient. At my last visit in 2019, he apparently treated some spots on my shoulders without my knowledge or consent. I had a sunburn on my shoulders and he sprayed them with something. (I had questioned 2 spots on the middle of my back, which he did nothing too but said it wasn’t cancer but could become cancer). He didn’t tell me what he was doing or explain anything. I thought he sprayed my shoulders with sunburn spray relief or something. When I got the EOB from my insurance company the change indicated it was for surgery. I called the office asking about what surgery he did. Apparently the spraying they did was surgery. I proceeded to tell the office about what Dr Curtis did and they basically called me a liar. They did refund me the charges for this “so called surgery”, which I did not ask for. All I wanted was for him to admit he messaged up and explain what exactly I was treated for. FYI, today I went to New England Dermatology for a exam and I had the best experience ever and the most thorough examination that I ever had. Dr Curtis was never this thorough ever. If you want a good experience go see Erin Devanney NP at New England Dermatology, she’s the best! FYI, she examined the 2 spots and said it’s not cancer and most likely it won’t become cancer. I was a patient of Dr Curtis since 2008 and when I questioned my bill in 2019, I received a letter in the mail basically saying that he will no longer be able to see me as a patient. At my last visit in 2019, I had my routine check and he said everything looks good. Only after he was done, I questioned a couple of spots in the middle of my back, which I believe he called it actinic keratosis. He said they weren’t cancer but could become cancer. While he was looking at my back, I told him I had been out in the sun without sunscreen and my shoulders got a little sunburned. Mind you, I tan easily so that sunburn didn’t bother me at all and would tan. Unbeknownst to me, he sprayed my shoulders with what I thought was sunburn relief spray. He didn’t tell me what he was doing and didn’t explain anything. After he was done with my exam, he gave me a pamphlet on skin cancer and off I went. Dr. Curtis is very money driven. He does not care about the health and well being of your skin, just how much money he'll be paid by both you and your insurance. I had tried to schedule an appointment for myself, private insurance, and was able to be seen the next day "from a cancellation," but said my mother, who has Medicare, had a more urgent matter would love to have that appointment and they refused her. They told me they had different appointment times for different issues which I understood. It wasn't until they thought they put me on hold that I heard the real reason was because they're trying to limit the number of Medicare patients they see so they only schedule them on a certain day of the week. DISGUSTING. So my mother can't be seen urgently because of the insurance she has? Absolutely gross of them as a company, a DOCTORS OFFICE nonetheless. I will never return, and neither will my family.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Curtis. He was very professional and nice. We talked about a rash I have, and what the next step would be. An appointment was set up for a biopsy of the rash to tell more about what is the cause and makeup and what treatment will be needed.

Dr. Curtis is extremely professional, cares and understands his patients needs. Highly recommend going to him!!

I keep telling myself maybe he’s running late this one time ..5 visits later, still wait 45+ mins every time. No matter if I’m here @9am or 5pm. It’s ridiculous. Today’s last appt and I’ll go else where. Also don’t think there billing dept is correct is anyway

I have going to dr Curtis for about 30 years and would not even think about going anywhere else and never never had to wait . He really knows his stuff .I travel about 45 mins just to go to his office . I used to see him in Springfield and followed him to Willbraham.

I have always had a good experience with the staff and Dr. Curtis. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes and everyone has been very friendly and professional.

Dr. Curtis is amazing!!! Anyone who says differently- I have no idea what Derm they think is better! We have been to them all and he is absolutely the most knowledgeable in this entire area!

Appt was at 4pm. Came 20 min early to fill out paperwork and still waited an hr.

Dr. Curtis provides clear explanations, thorough and knowledgeable exams, and I highly recommend him! The office staff are the best!!

I saw Dr. Curtis for the first time today, he’s very professional yet personable. The office staff was super pleasant as well.

Wow.... that's all I can say. From one visit it was quite evident that the folks at this office have absolutely no interest in medical care. As a medical provider myself, I was quite disturbed to go in for a skin problem, and feel pressured into paying for various unrelated cosmetic procedures (that I didn't need.) Minimum time was spent on my issue, and much of my appointment turned into listening to a sales pitch. Since my visit I have spoken with others who have had the same experience as me. Brought my daughter to see Dr. Curtis and he was great, and as the office staff. They made my daughter and myself feel comfortable. The office was very clean, friendly and inviting. I will be bringing my daughter back to him in the future, as well as myself.

I have seen Dr. Curtis several times. The staff is very nice and friendly and Dr. Curtis is very knowledgeable. And I must say this office is very clean. I especially like the team Dr. Curtis and his assistant Alex made, they made me feel comfortable. Definitely going back!

I have been seeing Dr Curtis for various issues for many years. He always addresses all of my concerns and answers all of my questions, even if they are in addition to the reason I came in for the visit. If I need to be referred out for special care, the staff handles all of the details for me and calls me with the appointment. I feel the need to address a couple of the reviews that have been left in the past by others. First, I have never had to wait for long periods of time for my appointments unless someone ahead of me had an emergency, in that case, we all need to learn some patience. Second, the office is very clean, the staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable. Third, I have never been solicited to purchase products of any kind. Dr. Curtis and his staff are outstanding. During appointments, I have felt totally comfortable in what could be an uncomfortable situation. Not only is Dr. Curtis a true gentleman, but he also inspires confidence and calm during a visit, something so important to me. I tend to be doctor and hospital phobic. I can truly say that my appointments with Dr. Curtis and his staff are enjoyable and stress-free. He is an exceptional doctor; someone I can recommend 100%.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Curtis! He has very successfully treated my Psoriasis which I had suffered with for years. I am so grateful! His office staff is friendly and polite.

Dr Curtis was very thorough, answered all of our questionas, and even explained things in layman terms for us to understand. He addressed our 3 issues in our first appt and explained all options & outcomes. We will definetely recommend him to anyone lookin gfor a dermatologist!

As a senior with a myriad of moles and skin demarcations, seeking a 15-yr. checkup, I was stunned that Dr. Curtis never looked at my neck, back, shoulders or abdomen!! He was walking out the door when I called him back. He then reluctantly looked at my neck and flank only because I insisted. Still never looked at my back or shoulders with all the old sun damage there! Inexcusable!

Same experience as Bill. I had two annual visits. I will not go back for another visit.

Super doctor!

Dr Curtis is very knowledgeable and compassionate. I made an appointment for a new mole that i was very concerned about, when i explained how nervous i was he took the time to really talk to me and answer all of my questions in a way that i was able to understand. His staff was warm and friendly . They were able to answer questions about my insurance and explained to me what i would be responsible for as i have a deductible plan. Very efficient and pleasant office!

I went and saw Dr.Curtis for some eczema he was great. He took time with me and did a head to toe exam. His office staff was very nice. I had to pay money towards my deductable but I guess I would rather pay it up front instead of receiving a bill . The nurse was super friendly who bought me in!

This office does not wait for payment from your insurance company. instead, they claim to look your deductible up online, then make you pay whatever the doctor charges you for that visit. i went to have him look at a spot that i thought might be cancerous on my face. instead, he sprayed my back with three fast squirts that he claimed he was spraying over moles that might be precancerous. when i left, i had to pay for four squirts, for a total of 150$! what a ripoff doctor p. curtis is.

He doesn't take the time to get to know you or your health needs.

Place was dirty. I have pics to prove it. They overbook appointments. Waited 50 mins to be seen! Doc spent less than 10 mins with me for a full skin exam! They said it would take an hour to an hour and a half. Waiting room had 4 other people waiting for the one doctor before I even went in. 10 mins! $171. Given a pamphlet and told to check myself every 1st of the month and to have whoever cuts my hair to look at my scalp. No rubber gloves. No time to ask questions. I have never written a bad review of anywhere. If this was the only place to offer derm care, I would go without. The receptionists were friendly. And the waiting room was clean. That's it.
