Made an appointment, and shared my insurance information , Blue Cross, with them. When I got there, they told me they do not except this insurance and that my appointment was canceled. Very poorly run office.

I’ve been going to this office about three years for a checkup for skin cancer as well as acne. The last time I went the doctor she said I had a little rosacea. Which I bought some cream for that at the office. My acne medication needed a refill also but my insurance needed an authorization because it’s also used for wrinkles. When the doctors office called my insurance they told them I was using it for rosacea which is wrong information on their part. I called the office and explained the problem to the office manager Jennifer who told me I was trying to commit to fraud. I was not allowed to talk with the doctor. I was just told by Jennifer I had to pay for it without insurance. I’m retired and don’t have the money to pay for it because I pay for other prescriptions as well. Jennifer is not the doctor and she refused to look back in my records. I worked for Johns Hopkins for 30 years and called for authorizations all the time. This is not how you treat people, so sad.

I am from out of state, I want to travel back just to keep this amazing team as my doctors! Gabby was awesome too! They all made me feel so comfortable! ?? the best of the best!!

Dr Mary Barber herself is a gift to humanity. She is a great dermatologist, the best that I have seen in my life. Whole office is genuinely friendly. Everyone is at ease, so you as the patient feel the same. They are focused on how to help each patient without any pressure to move along like a production line in a factory. Dr Barber’s clinical skills are superb. Dr Rebecca Thornhill, has come from Orlando and she is as gifted as her mother Dr Mary Barber. It's an hour drive to her office but I gladly made it. Dr Barber does in her office what others would have done in hospital - saving a ton of hassles and fees. A Mohs on my scalp without stoping blood thinners and all completed within less than two hours. Personable, professional and unique in today's environment.

Dr. Barber and her staff Juany (LPN) Casandra Slavens (APRN) are absolutely wonderful. They are very professional and during all procedures I have had they always make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Nobody likes surgery and stitches but with these professionals, they make it much more tolerable.

Casandra Slavens, APRN and Mary Barber, MD are simply the best around. They care, they are efficient, their surgery skills are excellent, and they give you the time you need. They enjoy their work and it shows.

Mary and her staff are the greatest. I see Casandra every six months and she is very thorough and I trust her to keep my skin cancer free. I went in for my semiannual visit on Friday, 7-9-21... We were greeted in a very professional manner and after a couple of minutes, called in (early) to start the examination. I was seen by Cassandra Slavens APRN-C, who was more than ably assisted by Brittany. After a very thorough examination, two biopsies were performed around my left elbow. Additionally, a suspicious area on my left eyelid was identified. I am scheduled to see Dr. Barber on July 13, 2021 for further examination of the eyelid... Cassandra and Brittany worked extremely well as a team, resulting in zero wasted time or motion. My highest compliments to both of these professionals... It has been my pleasure to have seen Cassandra and Dr. Barber on numerous occasions for more than six years. Their track record is very impressive and it is my fondest hope that I will be able to see these true professionals for years to come.

Five Star in all aspects but in particular the Nurse who did the Top Stitches on my face surgery was a 'Magician"...........no scar, can not tell where surgery was performed. Past experiences at other Doctors was stitching was no better than what a Butcher does when wrapping a Pork Roast and left unsightly raised bumps. Again, Kudos to that RN. Great office! Dr. Barber is extremely knowledgeable, and an excellent surgeon. The office staff is super friendly and the office is very punctual which is great because there is nothing worse than sitting in a Drs office waiting for an hour after your appointment time to be seen, then going in an exam room and waiting another half hour.

I would like to give accolades to Brittany and Cassandra, for the biopsy, and shot i did not feel and wonderful care they gave me. They are two very good representatives for Dr. Barber. I appreciate their care. I would like to commend Julia for her help also, she is most pleasant and kind. A great office...

David Richardson was Excellent!! I have been going to Dr Barber’s office for over 10 years & he gave the best exam I have ever had at her office. I have the skin condition DSAP & have been very fortunate to have never needed any surgery so I don’t see Dr Barber on a regular basics. I always see different PA’s & Richard is hands down the best I have seen in her office. He is very professional & thorough. Dr Barber needs this professional on her permanent staff!

Dr Barber was professional, knowledgeable, very friendly, comforting, and showed genuine interest in my concerns. Her "Staff" was a true reflection of her example. Attitude and Care..... starts at the top in any business.....the staff totally embraced a positive, helpful, smiling and caring outlook. Sad that we all have health issues to deal with.....but this was the place to go to address them.

After my procedure I had a sinus infection. I went in and was told it was a dental problem. I ended up in a emergency room for 12 hours. When I returned I brought this up. It was ignored. I also thought going into this my nose would look better than it does.

Dr Barber performed MOHS surgery on my upper lip. I was amazed at the proficiency of Dr. Barber and her team. I was completely satisfied with the entire procedure and would highly recommend Dr Barber.

I have been going to the Skin Cancer Center since 2011. Dr Mary Barber has operated on my back and right hand. Once in 2011 and 2021. Each year i go to the office for an examine. This year David Richardson did the exam. He found 4 areas of concern, Answered all my questions and between Dr Barber and David took care of me. He also recommended that I see and oral surgeon. Great care.

I had an ED&C procedure on my arm. I was informed about what was being done every step of the way. Everyone was friendly and put my anxiety to rest. I would highly recommend Dr. Barber and her wonderful staff.

I have been going to her for years. She has taken a lot of skin cancers off my face. She takes the time to explain all procedures she will be doing for you. She is great. I would never recommend Dr. Barber to anyone. She repeatedly told me that she had NO SYMPATHY for me. Dose she say this to all senior citizens? What message was she trying to convey as she cut into my skin? Fortunately the surgery went well. As she left the office she exclaimed that she would never remember me or see me again. A month after surgery I am left with a 3/4 inch scar on my forehead and a regret that I ever went to Dr. Mary Barber.

Excellent, courteous service from all staff. They are very easy to talk to about my condition, my treatment options, etc. Billing and insurance handled promptly and accurately. Treatment is skillful and careful. High standards of cleanliness everywhere in the office. They are a busy office, but very accommodating about scheduling. When I am in the waiting room, the other patients seem to be very satisfied repeat patients. I highly recommend them.

Went searching for a new Dermatologist & just had my first visit with Dr. Barber & PA David Richardson yesterday. My my visit was great & refreshing to have found an organization that is friendly & knowledgable. A huge difference from the Dermatologist that I had been seeing!

I am a new patient of Dr Barber. Although I did not see Dr Barber I did see Casandra Slavens and was quite impressed with her. She and the staff were very efficient and pleasant. I would highly reccomend them.

This review is not a criticism of Dr. Barber’s expertise. Instead, it addresses an issue with a receptionist as well as safety procedures implemented in the Summerfield office during the Carona virus situation. My husband and I received an “appointment reminder” call from the Summerfield office. When I expressed to the caller that I had reservations regarding going into a medical office during this time, she responded, “Well, we’re not twisting your arm.” I then asked her if she could tell me what safety precautions were in place at the office. She responded by saying that they have two waiting rooms in the office. She also said that if you want to wait in your car, a staff will come and get you when they are ready for you. Again, she repeated, “We’re not twisting your arm.” I asked if patients were required to wear masks. (My husband has Lyme disease and therefore has a weakened immune system.) She said no, but some patients do. I asked if staff are required to wear masks. She hesitated and said that the staff working “directly” with us would have a mask on. When I said that I was still hesitant to confirm that we would be in for the scheduled appointment, she said for the third time, “We’re not twisting your arm.” I finally asked if I could push our appointment out to November. She responded with an incredulous, “You’re going to wait that long for an appointment?” Her tone and demeanor throughout this entire conversation was less than friendly. It lacked any modicum of concern for a patient’s understandable need for reassurance that the office was operating safely during this pandemic. We have been with this practice for several years. We have always been treated respectfully and with professionalism by the staff at this facility, so this really took us by surprise. “We’re not twisting your arm” is not a response anyone would expect to hear from your doctor’s office.

I saw Dr Ricci & was very please with her. I've had to call the office twice since then for questions & so very nice !
