About Maria Mercedes Baccaro
Reviews for Maria Mercedes Baccaro
DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!! I told her that the medication she prescribed was not working for me and she blamed me and told me that I did not properly describe my symptoms. That was false and I very calmly and politely tried to reply. But, she probably mistook my calm and polite demeanor as weakness because she repeatedly interrupted me when I tried to speak. When I eventually stopped letting her interrupt me and tried to finish a single sentence, she proceeded to talk over me and would not let me get a word in. Then she abruptly terminated the conversation and sent me on my way. How can she diagnose and treat her patients when she refuses to listen to them? Just another small MD with a god complex. Save your time and money. Go elsewhere.
Sad you all give her bad reviews. I've had nothing but great results. I would recommended Dr Baccaro as top notch. She helped save my life & my daughter's. She's pretty amazing really????❤
Dr Baccaro has to be one of the worst doctors I have ever seen. She wouldn't let me get a word in and she wanted to shove pills down my throat. I advise anyone who is looking for treatment with the least amount of medications to take your business elsewhere.
I saw this "doctor" decades ago when I was a young teen. I am leaving this review now partly because technology finally allows me to, but also because my visit remains one of the most traumatic I've experienced with a medical "professional". She made me feel like trash. Was more concerned with her being "right" than listening to my feedback and paying attention to my symptoms. Her treatment resulted in one of the most miserable time periods in my life. My parents wanted to believe she knew best and my symptoms would improve. They didn't. I found a different doctor in short order. And doctor Baccaro aggressively and viciously berating me (a young child) in her office (in front of my mother, no less) for having the nerve to cry and express my fear over what was happening with my mind and body fell to just an unhappy ever-lingering memory. I attempted suicide while under her care. Vile, dangerous woman. Highly unrecommended.
I first started to see her and she diagnosed me actually..and got me on the right meds. She really cared about me and listened to how I was feeling in each session! I can’t say enough positive things about her care

This office is okay, if your looking for someone to hold your hand or talk to about your problem this isn't it, I'd suggest an actual therapist. Dr B prescribed me some medicine and was very thourough to explain it which I appreciated. She was appalled by my last psych that used me as a guinea pig for medications you would never put a depressed person on, she really guieded me through the meds thing on to the right track. I see a therapist seperatly to talk with as I feel all psychs don't really like to do that, they just are there for meds. I saw this woman decades ago when I was a young teen. I am leaving this review now partly because technology finally allows me to, but also because my visit remains one of the most traumatic I've experienced with a medical 'professional'. This woman treated me with all the compassion of a bulldozer working on a pile of compost. She made me feel like trash. Was more concerned with her being 'right' than listening to my feedback and paying attention to my symptoms and cries for help. Her expertise resulted in one of the most miserable time periods in my life. My parents wanted to believe she knew best and my symptoms would improve as my body adjusted to the meds. They didn't. I found a different doctor in short order. And doctor Baccaro aggressively and viciously berating me (a young child) in her office (in front of my mother, no less!) for having the nerve to cry and express my fear over what was happening with my mind and body fell to just an unhappy ever-lingering memory. My guess is she hasn't changed much, upon reading the rest of the feedback left for her across multiple sites. That should serve as warning enough, in my personal opinion. Vile woman. I hope she either retires or develops some empathy (later is always better than never).
Changed medications which had kept me stable upon the first visit and the resulting anxiety sent me into a tailspin that resulted in my hospitalization. She doesn't listen and talks over you. She prejudges you and has zero regard for your well-being. She is the worst doctor I have had in my 50+ year life. Run, don't walk away!

I have been seeing Ms. Baccaro for at least three years now and I have to say that her treatment has given me my life back. With her help, I have overcome my PTSD, OCD, Bipolar depression, and chronic fatigue. I couldn't recommend her enough. And she always takes the time to listen to what I have to say and she asks me about my life, health, and family every time that I see her. Also, she's affordable enough for me to see, so that's another big plus.
DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR! My son committed suicide under her care! She kept pushing pills on him and she scolded him by saying that he hates being Mexican just because he blamed his father for his depression. My son would still be alive if it wasn't for this awful old hag. I have a lawsuit pending with this facility. Do not ever let your loved ones see this witch! DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR! Would not recommend this provider for individuals with barriers to services i.e. childcare. Today i literally was met at the door of this office by the provider herself and told that i could not be seen because children weren't allowed in her office and signaled me out the door. Further she stated she had a patient in her office having a hard time. There was complete disregard for my needs as well. As a single mother with the inability to pay for child care, I had no option but to take my two babies ages 8 months and 19 months with me. I too was in need of care. There was no regard for any of the effort ot took for me to even get to that appointment. I found this to be unethical practice as a provider and detrimental to a patients mental health and the continuity of care for any patient in this providers care .The provider also didn't provide follow up which is definitely below the standard of care. She conducted no mental staus exam to rule out suicidality or homicidal ideation. Thamkfully i was not presenting with SI/HI . Conductong practice in this manner could have cost someone their life. This presents as a major risk and liability for provider as well. This is alarming and a major component and flaw in our overall mental health system and quality of care for those in need. I have been going to Dr Baccaro for quite some time. Every time I go in and tell her my symptoms are not getting better but worse, she just ups my dosage or gives me something else. I have asked about therapy sessions and she bypasses that as well. I went in yesterday to ask her about FMLA as I have been missing a lot of work due to things getting THAT bad. She told me "everyone has stress, you just need to go to work and SUCK IT UP! I am done. I have been going to Dr Baccaro for quite some time. This Doctor is Horrible. Changes her story every time you go in. My wife is a new patient of hers. One her first visit she was advised by the doctor to stop a certain medication. My wife agreed and stopped taking the medication. A few weeks later during our second visit the Doctor advised my wife to stay on disability until Jan 2nd. Now today during our follow up visit the Doctor refused to sign my wife's ADA paper work thus putting her job in jepardy. My wife left in tears. Heartless doctor!!!! This doctor is too old to be in practice. She didn't remember me from a visit a week prior. She couldn't remember writing an official note a week prior or she chose to act like she didn't remember. All this is documented. She is awful! Traumatizing bedside manner.
I am not at all pleased with her bedside manner. It seems that perhaps she is losing her memory. She didn't keep her word (which is in writing at my primary doctor's chart). She inflicted trauma today with her "treatment." It seems she doesn't follow the Hippocratic Oath but rather the pocket book oath.

Very unprofessional. I never had the chance to actually meet Dr. Baccaro, after getting the run around from the receptionist I finally got an appointment. They never confirmed my first appt. Trying to be seen was like jumping through hoops. I asked for directions and location and was told the office is located on Friant, that was all. I tired repeatedly to call the office the day of my appointment to get help finding the office, with no answer. After 30 mins of driving up and down Friant and circling river park. I just went home. This doctor is absolutely horrid! I missed an appointment because my father had a heart attack and instead of excusing the appointment they sent me into collections! Absolutely disgusting. Maria Baccaro shouldn't be a doctor. She sees people who have depression and yet this is how she treats them!
I felt I was under interrogation none of my needs or concerns were heard . Unable to answer questions being cut off sharply.I left hopeless helpless and crying so hard it was hard to drive. She had destroyed all the thrives I have made in healing in minutes with her judgmental tone of voice. She did not seem to have a grasp of mental illness .then I had to pay my co-pay for that sabotage. If she has insight and judgment towards me she should've just canceled appointment . I'm just amazed of her lack of empathy . If you want someone MEAN and doesn't ask your symptoms she's the one for you . I felt I was under interrogation none of my needs or concerns were heard . I personally have had a good experience with Ms. Baccaro. I have bipolar disorder and without Ms. Baccaro's treatment, I'd still have trouble getting out of bed in the morning. And without her, I never even would have realized that I am bipolar! Give her a chance. You might just find that she's the right psychiatrist for you.

Maria listens to me and takes me seriously when I voice my problems. Her treatment has given me my life back and I can't tell you enough how grateful I am that she is my psychiatrist.

Dr. Baccarro placed a family member with unipolar depression and anxiety on an anti-psychotic! The drug prescribed was inappropriate based on the patient symptomology. There appears to be a new trend among psychiatrists to treat depression with antipsychotic drugs that do not work (but are highly profitable for big pharma), do not address the depression and are indicated for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. I believe it is highly unethical to prescribe a drug that causes the very symptoms a patient is struggling to overcome. Not only that, when a depressed patient is treated with a drug that increases lethargy- the physician is assured a long-term patient who becomes more ill.
