Bad experience. Unprofessional environment and treatment that included flagrant HIPPA violation.
It’s for my husband actually and he would not write this review but I am like a momma bear. Basically, he didn’t have a visit. He was told Dr. Renfro had a medical emergency. She doesn’t doesn’t want to talk to him about his precancerous condition. She gives him the newbies on staff. He drove from Baltimore to find this out and made another appointment. Sorry. No deal. I asked the gal who answered the phone remotely who was absolutely wonderful if I could pick his medical records up tomorrow. She said because of Covid the office manager would tell me how I could get the records. I said I’ll double mask and I’m fully vaccinated. I guess I’ll hear from the OM tomorrow. What about a cell phone call? She’s been practicing in Annapolis for years and performs all the surgeries. Prima Donna.

If you looking for machine medicine this is the place. Sad thing is it used to really good but it's too big and impersonal. I going somewhere else after 11 years or so.
While I believe Dr. Renfro is an excellent surgeon, the general patient care leaves much to be desired. The operative experience and lack of information was frustrating and inadequate.
Extremely poor customer service. I have been trying to set up an appoint for days and have been on hold - this last time was for 58 minutes. Their pre-recorded voice mail indicates that my call will be answered in the order it was received and that "they care about my call." ah....no, they do NOT.
Beware of the scam she has going on!! When a biopsy is done in the office she is claiming it was performed in a surgery center so that her reimbursement is higher and the patients copay is higher as well. In addition she charges for a “closure” and a surgery fee!!! 99% of surgical incisions require a closure and I’ve never heard of a surgeon charging extra to close a surgical wound!! Very poor customer service, could never get through to confirm or cancel appts however the doctor had no issue cancelling my appts just before holidays. This seems to be a consistent trend w this practice in addition to the questionable approach to examinig and removing 'cancerous' spots on patients($). Read all the reviews, and you'll see a trend. Very professional, excellent care.
I was seen in a timely manner. The staff was professional, helpful as I received the treatment and informed what side effects I should expect.
I have been visiting Dr. Renfro's office for many years and have always appreciated the kind professional care she and her staff provide. I was recently at an appointment for another dermatological matter when the Physician's Assistant noticed a suspicious mark on my back. He took a biopsy which later turned out to be positive for melanoma. Within a few days of the diagnosis i was back in the office for a fairly large excision. 30 hours later it is healing nicely with hardly any discomfort - I took only one tablet for pain management 24 hours ago.
Dr Renfro took care of me immediately upon finding a condition almost 10years ago. Getting primeum care since. Almost certainly I owe my life to her care
I was in for two rounds of Mohs surgery. Staff is extremely friendly and professional. The process of the surgeries went off like clockwork.
I had Mohs surgery with Dr Renfro. The staff was friendly. I was taken back at my appointment time. There were several females, wearing masks, moving around the room. When they turned on the bright light I was unable to identify Dr Renfro. I heard a voice that I’m assuming (hoping) was she. My procedure was quick, with not much pain. I don’t remember actually speaking with the doctor. She was gone when I sat up. A P.A. did my stitches.
When I have had appts with Dr Renfro, all has gone well. However the attitude of those who work for her practice has slowly degraded over the last two years, in my opinion and the opinion of other patients. It’s as the staff feels that they have a service that cannot be replicated elsewhere close by. I feel like the female receptionist has given horrible customer service at check in. My entire customer experience from the receptionist to the PA was poor. The woman who walked me back to PA was very nice. I then had to wait 30 minutes to be seen. I love coming to see Dr. Meskey and Dr. Neidig. They're both easy to talk to and don't make me feel rushed through my appointments. I always feel comfortable with asking any additional questions and the office seems to run smoothly and on time. It's also a beautiful, spacious and comfy office to be in. My only complaint is their website and trying to pay a bill. Their website is very user unfriendly. It's difficult to navigate. It needs just a simple "Pay Bill Now" button where you can input your account info and info from the bill and get along with your day. Instead, it's hard to even log in to the patient portal and has no "bill pay" button on the website. When you call their system, their recording tells you to go online to pay your bill. I had to reach reception to pay my bill today, so it was a tad frustrating. Otherwise, love the practice. I love coming to see Dr. Meskey and Dr. Neidig. This is the best run practice I ever experienced. The staff wonderful and efficient. The doctor I saw, Dr Meskey, was caring and listened to my history and issues and had solutions to my health issues. Wonderful first rate practice.
My family has been going to Dr. Renfro and associates for over 25 years. We have had mohs surgery for various types of skin cancer and been treated for other skin conditions that other doctors were unable to diagnose. We have always had a positive experience.

The patient service is poor. I was disappointed that my full body scan was so very brief.
I went there to get a skin check since I had Basal cells several years ago. They were recommended and I figured I would give them a try. At the skin check they did a biopsy of 3 spots. They called me twice and left a message but when you called back to their lab they won't answer and it goes to voicemail. After several attempts I called the office and asked to speak to someone about my results since I evidently had something out of the normal. I finally got someone on the phone and they said I had Basal cell and would require a MOHS surgery and possible skin graft. The other 2 spots would also require surgery and I would have to make 3 different appointments for each spot, with the Basal cell taking up to 6 hours. So I need to come in 3 different days for each surgery? They gave me scare tactics that my moles could possibly turn into cancer and need removed. At this point I called my Dermatologist I have seen for years and made an appointment and took the results. He looked me over and looked at the results and advised there is nothing to worry about and come back in 6 weeks once your biopsy spots heal. He said I just want to see where the eraser size spot of Basal cells were and if necessary scrape them if some remains after their large biopsy. The other two areas they wanted to perform surgery on he stated are normal and nothing to worry about. This place is all about getting your money for unnecessary procedures and trying to scare you. The required prescription was called into the wrong location causing a potential 5 day wait versus a same day pick-up. Finally had it corrected. I have an extremely rare genetic form of Basal Cell Carcinoma. I have had thousands of Basal Cells removed over the decades - by the best of the best around the country... Dr. Renfro removed a hundred or so over a 5-year period... There is no better Mohs surgeon in the U.S.
Very thorough. Has caught several early stage skin cancers and removed. I went to her for a Mohs removal on my nose 15 yes ago. They went down three levels and left no scars. At my age go every year for body scan.
Always an absolute pleasure and always friendly but above all - professional and I trust them completely. I have enjoyed excellent dermatological medical care there for almost 20 years.
I've been going to Dr.Renfro for years and have always had a good experience. Yesterday when I went in for another procedure I had a nurse I had never had before. All of the nurses have been great but the one yesterday was FANTASTIC! Her name is Eveie and when she gives a numbing injection it makes the experience so much better. She should be teaching her technique! I can't thank her enough. She is FANTASTIC!
As a follow up to previous review, I went to another dermatologist for a full body scan and there were 11 areas that required treatment not to mention an additional $65.00 co pay! The word “integrity” needs to be removed from their mission statement!
Dr. Renfro and her staff have been treating me as a patient for well over 15yrs and I could not image going anywhere else for my melanoma treatment and prevention. This is your health and your life is in their hands so its important to ensure you are getting the correct care for your needs which Dr. Refro and her staff continue to provide me after all these years.

Dr. Renfro is supposed to be a Mohs specialist but based on the two skin cancers she removed from me and one from my Mom, she cuts once and very deep and when the scar is terrible, she is not the least bit interested in giving you guidance on reducing the scarring. I have since had a third skin cancer removed by a different Mohs surgeon, who went through 5 cuttings in one visit and I don't have a noticeable scar - the surgery was on my forehead at the hair line. I think Dr. Renfro was just too busy to be bothered with doing the job right. I have been a patient for over 5 years as well as my wife. We've never seen the doctor but have seen Reed Raleigh, the PA. We usually go together on the same day. We received bills for our portion of the services. I sent two separate checks for each bill. I received a nasty worded collections letter that intimated that I had not (or could not) pay for the services. I sent back this letter along with proof that I did pay the bills. Guess what? Really glad I found this practice. Everyone has been so helpful. Recently I wasnt able to make an appointment and couldn't call to cancel timely due to a family emergency. When I called and asked for the manager she was kind enough to waive the fee, and get me rescheduled the very next day. Reid is always so thorough and explains everything for me so that I understand. Always a great experience. And the office is beautiful. Lots of beautiful artwork.
As a BCCNS Patient, I have been to Mohs surgeons all over the world - as I moved around the world for work... Including Ronald Reagan's Mohs surgeon in DC way back when - met him there one morning... There are none better anywhere in the world than Dr. Renfro and her team... I do, and have, referred friends, family and simply those that ask to her/them all the time... LOL, Like great restaurants, the best doctors are busy because they are the best - but it is also worth the time involved.

Just got off the phone with Jody the billing person. Questioned a 10 minute office visit with a $183.00 charge for liquid nitrogen for a brown spot. No problem with the office fee and co pay. It was not the reason for the visit. The original scheduling of the visit was for a ugly, raised , skin lesion that dissipated while waiting for the appointment. Had I been informed that the liquid nitrogen squirt, @ $183.00, may not be covered by insurance, I would have declined. Jody response was I need to know what my insurance covers and I do agree with that statement but she did not need to hang up on me. How do you know if something is covered if the information was not available prior to seeing the provider?? Is their no such thing as disclosure? Even with disclosure the price should be available from the provider prior to the act. Informed decision as to accept or deny a treatment is the right of the patient. I have 40 years of health care experience and understand insurance, capitation, reimbursement, CPT coding better then the every day person. The office needs to pay closer attention to those who are retired and on fixed income when it comes to an expensive treatment that may or may not be covered or necessary. I will be contacting BCBS since Jody hung up on me for no reason other than I questioned her comments. I will pay my portion of the bill for 183.00 for 8 sec of liquid nitrogen . I was a patient of Dr. Renfrew. After a biopsy I was told I needed a spot remove from my back. I was contacted by them 3 days before and told I need to put down a, $375 payment prior. My insurance covers the procedure but I was told that as,I have a $809 deductible (which I have already met) I would have to provide this in advance. I have the money but it is the principle of the thing. This office from day one has seemed much more interested in profit the care. Will find another office that is run differently. FOLLOWUP: After requesting that the doctor call me I did receive a letter from Tammy in their office. I told her I would like to hear from the doctor and she responded "That's not going to happen". I have good insurance and am able to pay but the way this office handles things is not acceptable. Dr. Renfro is a true professional. She is very informative regarding the cause and affect of whatever your particular ailment might be. She is very courteous and friendly and gives reassurance as to the outcome of the procedure you are undergoing. All of the staff, especially Reid Reilly are very professional and courteous. My wife and I have been going to Dr. Renfro's office for many years and we have always been highly satisfied with the her and her staff.
I would never recommend this doctor. We waited for over 50 minutes in the waiting room for her to spend 5 minutes with us. She has horrible bedside manner and deals with anxious patients in the worst way possible. She tried to give my husband Ativan and told him if he didn't take it he could get a head trauma and die. She then left the room and told us to get a 2nd opinion. From speaking to others who have gone to this practice, she has tried to give all of them Ativan as well.

Two biopsies, first revealed pre cancer condition. They recommended a second visit when the results came in. At the second visit they did a second biopsy to confirm the results of the first, but in spite of my insistence she biopsied the wrong spot. No surprise that came back negative. Went to another practice three months later and just got the results from the biopsy in the correct spot and I have skin cancer. Now facing MOHs surgery - If a doctor will not listen to you, leave and fast.
I had been seen by Dr. Lanuti on several different occasions & was always pleased with the service and the manner in which I was treated. When most recently seen by Dr. Renfro, she was condescending & abrupt & even went as far as recommending I see someone else, when I simply asked questions about the procedure and diagnosis. Now I find out that there was no attempt at all in sending the biopsy to a pathologist in my insurance network & I will have to pay hundreds of dollars I can't afford.
The service rendered was fine, but this office completely botched the billing of my insurance and after 6 months of trying to resolve through Dr Renfro's office, my insurance and LabCorp, nothing was resolved and I am out $310 in order to make this all go away and save my credit from being jeopardized. I made an appointment with Annapolis Dermotology Associates and was instructed to arrive 45 minutes early to fill out new patient paperwork. My appointment was at 1:45 PM and I showed up at 1:00pm. The paperwork took about 5 minutes to complete and I expected to wait until my appointment time. I did not expect to wait until 2:30 PM to be called back. Once you are under their grips, they keep "noticing" things that need to be biopsied then removed. Each time, being charged a copay and a "surgery" fee for a nurse practitioner to do a biopsy. They have figured out a billing code that they bill your insurance with and insurance won't cover it, so you end up having to pay it. Also, I was told that I "HAD" to schedule an appt for follow up. Not to mention, their reception area is filthy. Under the chairs and especially by their Keurig. The baseboards and french doors are disgusting. This wasn't a "oh it was overlooked". Had two moles removed on stomach just below my chest. Had to do them two days in a row since they could not be done on the same day (they were right next to eachother). Dr. Renfro herself was pleasant and knowledgable. My issue is the assistants who stitched me up...it will be a year at the end of this month and my scars are raised, purple and outlined with every stitch mark. Not to mention they itch still itch. I've been told they're not healing properly but am seeking another office for tx.

Well, I just got back from my appointment, showed up about 15 minutes early, checked in, girl at the counter was very nice. Was in and out, procedure done, by a very nice young lady I might add. For total time back to my car in 25 minutes. Nice job!
