Dr. Layth Maolood

I saw Dr. Maolood today, and I am not going to any one else for medical advise unless he referred me! Dr. Maolood was nice, personable, humble, intelligent and very friendly. I was amazed by the amount of attention he paid to every single detail that came up, while still carrying a very smooth and enjoyable conversation, the spectrum of the medical history he took, and the questions targeting my issue not only covered virtually the full spectrum of medicine but also touched on psychology; and he gave me very insightful recommendations. To sum it up my experience couldn't have been any better. I highly recommend going to see him for any medical issue, 5 stars to say the least! Excellent

Dr. Maolood saw my son at Flower Hospital after his birth because the pediatrician we choose was on vacation. He seemed like a good doctor at the time and very well may be. However, at the time of my son's 2 month check up, my wife's insurance company reassigned us to Dr. Maolood. The pediatrician we had initially choose was apparently out of network. We made him an appointment for the next available Saturday at 10:30am. My wife an I woke up, got our 2 month old up and ready, drove to the office in the snow, checked in online and arrived early at 10:10am only to be greeted with a locked door and a closed office. We double checked the confirmation email we had received to verify the appointment was in fact on that day and time. It was. My wife had also received a confirmation phone call for that date and time. Hoping we were the first appointment of the day we waited patiently in the car until 10:45am. With no sign of movement inside I called the office number and left a voicemail letting them know the situation and that we would like them to call us back with an explanation of their absence and to reschedule the appointment. Their office has been open twice since the no show event and still no phone call with any type of apology or explanation. They did however have no problem mailing me a bill for hospital consultation after my son's birth. Dr. Maolood very well may be a good doctor but his office is poorly managed and there is no excuse for not calling me back. As a result, we will not be wasting our time with this office in the future and we have already changed my son to a different doctor. In short: I do not recommend this office to anyone seeking a reliable doctor. Limited office hours, only three days a week by appointment only. Unreachable by phone and doesn't return calls.
