I really like Dr. Gurley. He is gentle and seems to be very knowledgeable. However, some of his office staff are the worst! The office manager, Heather, in particular, was very rude and insensitive. I really like Dr. Gurley. He is gentle and seems to be very knowledgeable. However, some of his office staff are awful! The office manager, Heather, in particular, was very rude and insensitive. It seems like she hates her job. I was met with resistance from her every time I needed anything. She definitely lowers the quality of the entire establishment. Dr. Gurley is the best! He's got such a calming and gentle demeanor and his care is thorough and knowledgeable.

Dr. Gurly is a great doctor, he's so kind. Takes his time with you and gives you enough time to talk about anything you need to tell him. If you ever go to him you will see what I mean. I have been to other OBGYN doctors, but no one that cares enough about a person, to understand where your coming from and does his best to take care of your problem, He's close, kind, and a very caring person.

I was referred to Dr Gurley by my neurologist due to heavy, uncontrolled bleeding that was dismissed by my local gynecologist’s office. Dr Gurley was amazing from the beginning. He had a wonderful, calm bedside manner and took care of the problem beautifully (which ultimately needed surgery to correct). I even referred a co-worker to him and she adored him as well. Dr. Gurley is one of the most amazing doctors I’ve ever had!! He always listens to all of my concerns and addresses them immediately. Been with him for 13 years and counting.

For me he is the best Gyn. around. I drive 2 hours to see him yearly.

Been with for years. Best bedside manner and very gentle , which is obvious in his voice, his technique and style. You know he cares. And you don’t have wait on him since he does not deliver babies.

I am surprised by the less than glowing reviews regarding Dr Gurley and his staff. I have been a patient for 20+ years and have always received the best medical care by Dr Gurley. He is kind, patient, caring, and current with new medical options! His nurses are kind and patient. I had endometriosis in my 20’s and 30’s so I understand the pain associated with it. I am so sorry that another patient feels Dr Gurley or his staff treated her in an unkind or impatient manner; there must be more to her specific case than we can surmise. Dr. Gurley is an amazing doctor who has knowledge of both Western and Chinese medicine, which I love and is very hard to find. He is calm, caring, and I respect his experience in the field of gynecology. I was referred to him by my rheumatologist as I was new to the Nashville area. He helped me to process my options and looked at my history carefully. He was able to refer me to a great surgeon who performed my hysterectomy, and I look forward to keeping him on my team of doctors. He and his nurse Mimi are kind, thorough, and knowledgeable. I have been a patient for over 40 years. I like Dr Gurley but Heather at the front desk has a major problem. I went for my annual check up. And she gave me a stack of paperwork to sign which I do at every doctors office no problem. I received a bill for my check up that I have had every year and I was confused because I had never received a bill. My medicare and supplement always has covered everything. I wasn't upset over the bill I just wanted to know why I got the bill. She just kept saying I had signed the form and starting yelling at me and when I said don't get smart with me she hung up. I tried to call back several times and she wouldn't answer so I called from my work number and she answered. I explained to her that I wanted to pay my bill but I just wanted to know what the charge was for and basically it was for the same check up I always have gotten but the form I signed explained I would be paying. She is not what Dr. Gurley needs handling his patient.

To start, I have been a patient of Dr. Gurley's for over a decade, and he has performed 3 surgeries. I respect him and think highly of him. In fact, I have recommended numerous friends and co-workers to his practice. Recently, I have been experiencing uterine pain, significant blood loss and hormonal imbalances and intolerances. I have been in the ER a few times within the last couple of months. My condition can be medically noted. When I called his office, the lady (Heather, I believe) who answered the phone said nothing could be down for "a little pain". If you have experienced endometriosis coupled w/fibroids, you know nothing is "little" about the associating discomfort and pain. I was insulted, corrected her and shared that the pain was anything but minor. And mind you, because of these issues, my threshold for pain is quite high. When I went to visit the office, Dr. Gurley said the only option was surgery, which is not a viable option since I want to have a family. I called a friend who is an OBGYN and she said to push him to offer additional options, as there were a plethora he could investigate and recommend prior to offering surgery. I did that and he recommended progesterone. But why did it take a follow-up appointment for this? Why was this not offered initially prior to stating surgery was the only ipportunity for relief? As a result, I will no longer be patronizing this doctor's office, am now questioning the prior surgeries, and if they were, in fact, medically necessary. I say to all ladies, investigate ootions, get 2nd and 3rd opinions and be mindful if the 1st option made by a dr. Is surgery. I have been a patient of Dr. Gurley’s for 3 years and I have expressed on multiple occasions that I have painful and abnormally long periods for multiple months all his office has done was to dismiss my pain and to give me multiple painful tests with no results. He suggested another birth control I tried but did not like and didn’t work for me and that was it yet the issue persists and I keep having to visit all the time for the same issue. Lastly, I feel that his office tries to rush through patients cause they overbook themselves. I was on time to my appointment and still had to wait 30 minutes to see a nurse for 5 mins and 30 more minutes to see Dr. Gurley for 8 minutes. Also, I am very displeased that when they drew blood (to check if I was ainemic I might add) I was not even given a bandaid. I will be seeking other opinions on the matter from here on out and will not be returning. Best doctor and staff around! Always friendly and willing to help.

I had a hysteroscopy for difficult IUD removal. I was referred by another MD. This was my first time at this office. The office was so easy to get to, it was unbelievable. The staff were amazing, good eye contact, kind, professional and patient. I did not feel rushed, I felt like I was the only patient and that my needs were important. Every staff member told me their name and explained things. Dr.Gurley was kind and professional as well. The procedure went just as he said it would. WORST experience ever. First appointment, kept me waiting 4 hours while he fiddled with a sales person who was repping a new piece of equipment. Next, tells me I might need a hysterectomy, but wants to consult with a colleague, and will get back to me within the week with a treatment plan . Two week later, I still haven't heard back, despite repeated calling.

I’ve had several gynecologists over the years, but my search for the best ended when a friend recommended Dr. Gurley. I’ll never look further!

I have been seeing Dr Gurley for over 20 years. He and his staff are everything one could want in a GYN doc. I feel very fortunate to be in his care and have total trust in him.

He’s a very good doctor who is gentle and kind. He makes sure you know everything that’s going on. His staff are so friendly. Very knowledgeable in the new things going on and listens to you. The only problem I had was the person that answered the phone was always VERY RUDE.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Gurley and has staff. Very prompt to see patients ( how rare is that!), very professional and caring.

Dr. Gurley was very thorough, compassionate and professional. He came highly recommended and I was very happy to have my expectations met and exceeded! His staff was very considerate and attentive.

The office staff is very kind and courteous. Unlike another reviewer my experience could not have been better with both the office staff and physician. Dr Gurley is very gentle during the exam which is greatly appreciated. He also takes his time to explain everything and he ask do you have any questions several times to make sure everything is clear to me.

I spoke with the front desk attendants on three occasions about an appointment and confirming that my insurance would be honored. I explained that my insurance covered routine exams 100% and that is what I expected would happen during my visit. I was pleased with the service only to receive a bill for almost $500.00!!!!!! Upon calling accounting I was yelled at and informed that services rendered where over and above those my insurance would pay.
