Dr. Jolanta Maria Macdonald

I thought they were a reputable, caring dentist. Unfortunately, when my child's crown fell off in 2020, just over a year after the work had being done, they did not back up their work and the on-call doctor denied help when my child was bleeding and in pain in the middle of the night. That is truly disappointing. I would not trust them with a child I cared about. I updated my original 2019 review when the second crown fell out on 3/15/23, and now again on 3/23 after an official request from the practice. To note, the third crown is lose and wobbly, so it will come off soon. I will remove my review then. The work they performed on my son failed.

Fabulous dental practice. My son needed braces and after his cleaning, we saw the Orthodontist in the same location. Very convenient.

The most friendly staff and doctor. The facility is amazing and the appointment time is always on time. I’ve been using this office for nine years for my kids and I am very happy.

Staff was s wonderful with my daughter. She was very nervous but they explained everything to her and walked her through what they were going to do which really helped calm her.

I have been taking my kids to Dr. MacDonald since 2009. Her staff has always been excellent. Last spring I called her office a half hour before closing because my daughter had been injured playing softball. Her teeth had been knocked in but were still in her mouth. They told me to bring her in and Dr. MacDonald worked her magic. They X-rayed her teeth and Dr. MacDonald moved her teeth back into position, braced the teeth and stitched the inside of her mouth. She saved the teeth and saved us hours in an ER. When we went back to the orthodontist (months later) she was impressed with Dr. Macdonald’s work and we were able to use the same retainers that were made when she got her braces off. She saved my daughter’s smile and spared us a great expense if the ER and oral surgeon was needed. You can never go wrong with Dr. MacDonald and her staff! Thank you!!

Rescheduled my sons appointment the morning of because he had a fever and was a close contact for Covid. Took him to the dr to get tested and checked instead. 2 months later got a cancellation fee and late fee. Wasn’t told about either fee at the time of the call, his rescheduled appointment (2 weeks after) or month later when I got an invoice for the appointment he did go to.

Lynne, Dr. Macdonald, and the entire staff are the best! Incredibly kind and considerate of my sons dental anxiety, going above and beyond to help create a positive visit and experience for him.

Best place for children’s dentistry hands down. They are thorough and competent. My daughter has some mouth issues and her hygienist, Lynne, always goes above and beyond to make sure she’s comfortable during the cleanings. Lynne is very kind but firm when she needs to be in getting my kiddos to cooperate during the cleanings. The office is also spotless, with lots of entertainment/video game options for the kids in the waiting room. I drive an hour (from another state) to go here but it’s worth it!

My youngest is terrified of the Dentist. When we arrived at our new patient appointment all the boys got super cute little dolphin stuffed animals. My youngest was treated with such care to help him through his anxieties that he actually wants to go back! Thank you to L.A. for helping him feel comfortable at a dentist office!

I wish I could give this place more stars. Phenomenal service. I would not hesitate to recommend Children's Dentistry of Northborough to anyone. The staff is attentive and caring. They understand sensory needs of kids and are great at making accommodations for anyone that needs them.

My 5 year old son who is terrified of the Dentist and always needing to be held down, kicking and screaming with tears in his eyes had the best experience at his new dentist office Children's Dentistry of Northborough. It brought tears of joy and relief to see him on his own being brave with his hygienist and allowing his teeth to be cleaned and even X-rayed for the first time! Highly recommend going to Children’s Dentistry of Northboro!!! Dr.Mac was amazing, and so was Taylor. The office is clean, they have a cute tank with Nemo & friends! they have a great staff that cares for your children & their smile !

Amazing place for children. Staff is so kind and friendly.

I took my son here for his first dental appointment. I had a great experience. The receptionist, hygienist and dentist were all excellent with him. The office is gorgeous and a perfect place for kids. My son really enjoyed the over sized activity cube and the fish tank. I recommend this office not only for the quality of care but for being a fun place for kids. Update: My kids are toddlers now and they love going to the dentist. Our experience at Children's Dentistry of Northborough was truly exceptional! Our 6 year old daughter was immediately made comfortable by Lynne, and felt at ease with both doctor Macdonald and doctor Dantas. We had a great first trip to the dentist today! The office was beautiful and clean and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. The hygienist and Dentist were excellent with my little one. I’m so glad we made the switch and cannot wait to bring my other children in for their visits.

We had our first visit at Children's Dentistry and it was amazing! They were very welcoming, talked through the entire process, and kept my 3 year old engaged throughout! My 1.5 year old is a bit nervous around people (pandemic baby!), however, the staff were great and she had a wonderful visit as well. Totally recommend!

It is wonderful that so many families have had great experiences at Children’s Dentistry of Northborough. My children were seen there for all of their dental treatment since their first appointment. The atmosphere and dental hygienists encouraged me to continue taking my children there despite personally being uncomfortable with the dentist’s chairside manner. I was shocked when I received a “deactivation letter” today following my daughter’s appointment yesterday. My daughter, who was very nervous, was being silly as a means to slake off her nerves. She unknowingly and unintentionally said something that was perceived as “name-calling” and mean”. A simple misunderstanding lead to my children being banned from future treatment unless emergency treatment is needed in the next 30 days. Both of my children have special needs and admittedly can be difficult to treat. I firmly believe that is the real reason my children are no longer welcome there. My kid is afraid of any doctors. Thanks to the staff for their patience and attention to my child.

Be aware of this dentist. All they are looking for is money. We have MetLife and this clinic is out of network. They are not transparent with you when it comes to payment, they will double the charges and not break down details for you, they refuse to see your children if payments are not due upfront. They sent me a link to pay over a text message of $8.00 And I paid but when my son went in for his appointment they said we also owed another $75.00 and told me to “hurry up” and pay because we were already 10 minutes late( when it was their fault for sending me the wrong amount). When I asked why was that my fault she said: you can cancel your appointment but that also will cost you money, what a joke. When I was questioning her about transparency she hang up on me. Terrible customer service. Be on the look out. It’s all about MONEY. My kids will not return to this SHADY dentist. Be aware of this dentist. All they are looking for is money. Children Dentistry is good for Adults and the place is neat and welcome atmosphere. I recommend this place for any adults and bigger kids

The staff at Children’s Dentistry is always top notch, but during Covid they hit it out of the park. I felt like they were well organized and thought of every detail. I noticed that the staff was wearing both a N95 mask and a regular mask.

Absolutely the best practice for anxious kids ever!! So grateful we found them after trying other not so great pediatric dental practices. They are all wonderful!

Everyone - from the office staff to the hygienists to the doctors - are incredibly friendly and know how to work well with kids. They explain all the tools being used, the procedures being done, have Disney+/Netflix for kids to watch during certain appointments, and end the appointments with a prize / treat, which the kids certainly enjoy! I couldn’t be happier with the level of care being provided to my children. My toddler son that won’t sit for a haircut happily sits down for an examination and treatment. My daughter just had a filling and an extraction and she was made to feel very comfortable and it went great. Every staff member I’ve interacted with is caring, knowledgeable and highly skilled. Nicole and Brittany were amazing with my daughters (5 & 3). It was not their first visit but for some reason it was the first with fear and tears. I was just about to call it quits in trying to get them to do it but the hygienists were so sweet and worked with them slowly to make them comfortable enough to finally get in the chair. My older daughter was due for her first set of X-rays and was adamant she wasn’t going to do it. But Brittany talk her through it and got her in the room and got them done, without any tears! I took my son to 2 other dentists before Dr. MacDonald. I felt rushed and confused at both other dentists. Dr. MacDonald was the first dentist to actually explain what was happening with my son’s teeth and give me a clear and comprehensive understanding of how she could help him. Her hygienist was perfect for my squirmy son. The office staff are all very professional, efficient and communicative. The anesthesiologist office that Dr. MacDonald works with, Dr. McCarty, was equally clear, efficient and friendly. My son had a safe and effective dental surgery, and is recovering well. I’m very happy that we went with Children’s Dentistry of Northborough to care for my son. I highly recommend them.

My daughter has had bad experiences with dentists. Her anxiety level when you mention going to a dentist skyrockets. Today was her first experience at this office and it was FANTASTIC. We have a half hour ride home and all she talked about was her dental experience. She's only 8 so we have many more years to experience this office. So glad we found them. My son has been going for a year and raved about the office to her which also helped her feel comfortable.

Both my children go to Children’s Dentistry of Northborough and we have always had a great experience with the staff and Dr. MacDonald over the past 5 years. The hygienists have done an amazing job too with my son who has autism, taking their time to explain tools and procedures, being patient with him, and providing tips on how to make visits easier. We always feel welcome there and they listen closely to our questions and concerns. Would highly recommend this office.
