Woof. Every once in a while you meet the person the horrible stereotypes of a profession come from. Went to see this doc with a sinus infection, depression, and trouble sleeping and despite my career as a social worker he said I'd likely get better if I found religion or volunteered. "I know you can get better because I used to be like you too," he said. "But I got out of it and I think I'm a really good doctor now." I cried during our appointment and he grabbed my hand and said, "Don't worry, I'm on your side," while again telling me religion would be helpful. It was creepy not because he touched me, but because it seemed like it was something he thought he should do, but didn't fit the tone at all. He seems unable to honestly interpret a situation. When I received my bill I saw a code I did not recognize and I called the physician in the family. It was an emotional outburst code and I was charged for it. The physician said he's never heard of that kind of thing being used and has no idea what it is about. My only thought is this probably happens a lot to this Dr. so he's trying to milk the appt for all he can. The only thing I felt more than annoyance from this experience was confusion that this guy still had a job. If your trip to see the wonderful Dr. Millett isn't enough, you can enjoy the visible disdain and irritation about having to do their jobs from the front office staff. At a certain point you need to hold accountable the institutions that employee harmful people. Although I suppose if I had to spend everyday with this so called healthcare provider I would succumb to the refuge of apathy myself. Then again they can always volunteer.

No bedside manor. Said I had a heart attack on Friday afternoon and wanted me to see a heart doctor next week. No other explanation, end of appointment. Well mind racing over the weekend, blood pressure soared, started having chest pain Ended up at emergency and an overnight hospital stay. Didn't have a heart attack, arteries were clear. Obviously didn't check my records as I have left bundle branch blockage. A symptom I have had for a long time. $17,000 later. The heart doctor said that I may need a pacemaker later in life. But on the positive side, years later I did have a pacemaker put in. Plus he would only talk to you about one problem at a time. No, you need to make another appointment for anything else. If you are late for an appointment, next time it will be $50. But if they are 30 minutes late it's oh we are running late They always overbook. It's all about the money. No bedside manor. Would not recommend him to anyone. Not very personable. Talks down to his patients. He actually said I should probably try to go back to my original Dr.

I have epiploic appendagitis, lasting 4 times longer than it's supposed to and I was completely shrugged off. He didn't seem to care much at all, and I got the sense he just wanted to go on his lunch break. No referral to a specialist even though I can hardly move and been in the ER twice. Was very attentive and explained returning very well. He will be my new family doctor.

I was not happy with this doctor. I have been on the same meds for 10 plus years that work for me. From the first visit his goal was to ignore my past medical history and make me come for office visits every month before he would fill my scripts. These meds by the way are medications that most other doctors offers 3 refills at a time. he would not. It is my opinion that this doctor make a habit of collecting as much money as he can from you rather than focus on your health.

Very, hands-off approach to care. Doesn't listen to patients needs. Continually pushing medications that you are opposed to all the while "holding your current prescriptions as hostage", insisting on monthly visits where the cycle repeats. Very disappointing to know that you aren't being listed to. In fact, I was actually told in order to create a smooth handover from one physician (I recently moved to the state) to another physician without "bumps". I needed to "play the game". Dr. Millett is great, but the staff at West Michigan Family Medicine leaves A LOT to be desired. The phone hours are inconvenient, the staff, particularly Jack, are especially rude when trying to schedule or requesting a prescription refill. After you get past the staff and actually into the office to meet with Dr. Millett, everything is great. He listens to concerns, provides honest feedback and advice, and I've never felt that he put drug reps/companies ahead of my needs.
