We saw Dr. Lancaster many times with our baby. She’s incredibly rigid, mildly dismissive if you have any views that differ from hers, and very inflexible in thinking. We received numerous lectures on feeding our baby European formula because it didn’t have added iron. She had many issues with it despite the fact that the EU has more stringent regulation on food products than the US, and their formulas are more closely aligned with natural breast milk (which also doesn’t have added iron). Every visit ended in a mild lecture of disapproval with complete disregard for any research beyond the rehearsed official medical recommendations she was taught. She does not engage other opinions and acts as an absolute authority figure on child rearing, all while talking in a baby voice which I realize is her “nice” persona. After the last visit (my child is now 1), we decided to find a new pediatrician as this one is unworkable.
