I've been going here since I was kid, but since I haven't been there in the past three years, I'm considered a new patient and they no longer accept new patients. There office managers were beyond disrespectful as soon as I walked to the window. If this is what loyalty looks like, I don't want any part of it. And like I've said before, this won't be the only review I leave for this establishment. It used to be somewhat decent, now, it seems they just don't care about the health of people.

Doctor Owens is the best.Not only is he the best in the area he also gives a lot back to the area. Now his front desk may need some help on attitudes.

Total lack of professionalism. Rude office staff, totally the opposite of what to look for in a doctor's office. Took them 4 weeks to respond to decide they could not help or refer me for routine preventative exam. Had they asked the doctor a simple question, he could have saved me the time and trouble of filling out forms there and I could have looked for another doctor. Receptionist would not even give the doctor a note or ask him when he was standing in front of her.

I’ve been looking for a primary care doctor for over a year when I finally called Dr. Owens’ office. This man heard me, cared about the outcome and called me personally with my blood work results. Great guy, great staff.

Awsome Doctor very resposible, educated and knowledgeable he help my gf so many times. Highly recommended !

Dr. Owens is an incredibly kind and patient doctor. The problem is not with him; his receptionist is rude and condescending to every single person who comes in. She is always angry and always rude. She embarrasses people and speaks to them in a condescending tone. I am changing doctors after being with him for more than 15 years. I have expressed my concerns to no avail. She is horrible.

Good if you know what you want and need. If you're not educated medically, do no go to him.

It sounds like roger payne wants special treatment everywhere. Currituck Internal Medicine an Family Practice takes care of my parents and are a great office. They clearly have posted same day appointment are available for existing patients first come first serve and when they reach the limit they can take it is cut off for the day. roger payne claims to be new to the area but left another bad review 5 months ago for a different local doctor. I was terribly sick, going over a week feeling just awful. My previous Dr had retired and I was unaware until now. I called around trying to find a Dr to see me without having to go to an urgent care. I was turned down by multiple offices because I was not a current patient and I couldn't be seen for over 4 weeks. I called this Dr Office and was immediately told to come in that they had sick hours until 12 (Monday 3/25/19) and they will see me and create a patient profile. Dr. Owens and his staff were ethical and kind. I will be making this my new family Dr. Thank you team! I was terribly sick, going over a week feeling just awful. I have been going to Dr. Owens for virtually his entire time of practicing. He has always treated me with respect and dignity. His advice has always been correct but my symptoms have usually been quite basic. I highly recommend him.

Can be irritable and "distracted". Am unsure of his abilities to handle much more than routine matters, ie colds, rashes, sprains etc.

Best doc in town!

I would not reommend hi to any one. Had a child with possible flue and aske dto be billed for Copaym,ent becasue I didn't get paid till Friday of the sdame week and they would not do it. So now not sure what is wronfg with son and will be going to different doct after being with him for years.

Dr. James Owens has been our family Dr for many many years. He is an excellent Dr and truly cares for each individual he comes in contact with! Always smiling and patience with all who enters, regardless if an individual is rude or acting a fool!! Our family loves him and his staff as if they were family!! I highly respect him, his entire nursing staff and receptionist!!! Thank you Carolina Family Practice for all your dedication and hard work!!! Much respect to all of y'all! Love the Gillards!

I love dr Owens he actually believes in what you tell him and does everything he can too get you feeling better I been going for two years and know people who have been going since his day 1
