Wouldn’t recommend a dead person to this fool. Very pompous. The staff is clueless.

If it were up to me I wouldn’t even leave a one star rating. This doctor didn’t seem to care about the issues that I was having nor care about my concerns. He didn’t seem to really listen to what I had to say. And my goodness, if you need to get ahold of him the turn around time IF your message even gets addressed is unknown. Does not listen. Careless and not thorough.

Called to schedule an appointment as a new patient. Operator asked me for my race and religion?!!!!!!! What a heck !

I was shocked at how dirty the exam room and bathroom were. The garbage was overflowing in the exam room. It was disgusting. I wasn't comfortable being checked by him without a nurse in the room especially when he called me sweetie. Twice!

Dr. James Allen has extremely poor communication skills. Staff from a local agency called the Dr. On Call and it was Allen. He was very rude and felt the question was beneath him and hung up without answering the question fully. Staff called again and of course got Dr. Allen this time he lectured staff about wasting his time, he wanted to know which agency staff worked with and hung up without answering the question. Agencies can not make even simple medication changes without getting permission from treating doctors. Attaching staff like they did something wrong is uncalled for and extremely unprofessional. Staff should not be made to feel they are stupid a doctor should have enough communication skills to be able to carry on a conversation and answer basic medical questions. I hope someone at AHN feels this is not a good representation of how doctors communicate representing AHN and Jefferson Hospital. Please let Dr. James Allen know his bad side manner needs to be corrected.

What a complete scam. A 10 minute procedure cost $410. After they made me wait an hour an a half after my scheduled appointment time and I finally saw the Doctor. He did what I was expecting and removed two pimples which took 10 minutes, then he proceeded for another 15 minutes to tell me about his glory days working in a motorcycle garage. This is to acknowledge the exceptional services provided to me by James E. Allen, M.D. I was dealing with a urological problem of unknown origin. After standard testing and two outpatient surgical diagnostic procedures, his initial suspected diagnosis proved to be correct and the situation is now resolved. Throughout my treatment, he encouraged me to make my own care decisions & explained every facet of my treatment. This inspired confidence in his expertise and I feel it was well deserved.
