Very frustrated now that the office has moved to frisco. Service is not the same. Front office tells me one thing, providers another. Save time and go somewhere else.. not worth all the frustration.

Office staff is rude and I believe racist. DO NOT USE THEM. i'm not sure who i spoke with on the phone, but she was rude, over talked me, and attempted to bully me into giving information i felt was not needed, and then hung up on me. I have never been treated so poorly while attempting to make an appointment. The irony is that the website is: be a great woman, lol. Your staff certainly falls short of this. I am writing this review 4 years after receiving care and and an IUD ParaGard from Dr. Bartos. I am now facing a hysterectomy due to her placement of my IUD. While in her care, I thought everything was fine. She was tentative and her office staff was wonderful. I was a new, single mother and she was great throughout my pregnancy. Cummings delivered my son, and I saw Bartos shortly after to have the IUD ParaGard inserted. She did not use any instrumentation like an ultrasound to determine where to place it, just stuck it through my cervix. It was quite painful upon insertion, which she assured me was normal. About a month later, I noticed I could feel the bottom of the device sticking out of my cervix just barely. I called her office, and the office staff who claimed they spoke to her assured me that this was normal placement, and to get it checked if it should move from that spot. Fast forward 4 years later, due to unrelated abdominal pain I go to the ER and am given a CT scan. In the scan, they alerted me to my IUD being in an abnormal spot. It is still in the same spot it has been since Bartos placed it, so I was shocked. Last week I followed up with an NP who attempted to remove it, and could not remove it. It would not budge, and every tug at the strings put me in a great deal of pain. She referred me to an OBGYN, who conducted a transvaginal ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that my uterus is retroflexed (Something Bartos should have known!!!) and that the IUD is embedded deeply in my uterine wall, and has been since insertion. I was informed that an ultrasound should have been used for insertion, and that removal may require an entire hysterectomy, rendering me unable to have more children. I am 27 years old, in a happy and blossoming relationship, and I want more children. This has been a grueling and emotionally traumatizing experience and I believe it is due to the negligence of Dr. Bartos. I would be open to her attempting to rectify this terrible mistake without rendering me infertile, but I am afraid the damage has been done. I have a follow-up hysteroscopy which I fear will not lead me to good news. Please, if Bartos places an IUD inside of you, make sure she uses an ultrasound and follow up with her IN PERSON to rectify anything you may feel is off. Do not blindly trust like I did, or you may be in the same situation as me. I hope to hear from her office soon regarding this matter. Good experience so far! Was seen by Katie Anderson one of the 2 Nurse Practitioners and she was wonderful. She is intelligent, careful, and compassionate. I experienced this by the way she talked and explained things in a way I could understand. She was a nurse for some time before she became a practitioner so she understands the “human component” unlike a lot of doctors. Christine is also superb! She took me back on my second visit and made me feel very comfortable. Taylor was awesome at getting me scheduled quickly and conveniently too! Good experience so far! I relocated from Washington state in February of this year. I am so happy to have found this office. The providers and staff have been so helpful and caring in all of my care. Katie Anderson (Nurse Practitioner) is AMAZING! She goes above and beyond to not only deal with your symptoms but find the root cause. I'm a thyroid cancer survivor so my care is pretty tricky. The providers and the nursing staff (Nicki is the BEST!) have been great in all of my care. I've been struggling for years with my weight and with their help, I've lost 31 lbs and feel great! My teenage daughter and I are both patients of Heather Bartos and Katie Anderson. My adult son is also a patient of Katie Anderson. I relocated from Washington state in February of this year. Wrong IUD was going to be put in. [Copper instead of hormone] *IF YOU HAVE ALLERGY TO COPPER THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND RISKY* -Doctor acting like it was my fault and getting angry along with her nurses -Being told Liletta is the “exact same in every way” as Skyla [works in the same way]*AMOUNT OF HORMONES IS IMPORTANT IN REGARDS TO DEPRESSION* -No apology or concern with IUD being switched So I get undressed and nervously wait and I end up looking over at the IUD which looks suspiciously like the copper one. So Dr.Bartos comes in and I ask her “what iud is that” and of course I was told the copper one. I tell her that “it isn't the right iud I want skyla”. She tells me that the copper IUD “was the iud you requested”, which I lead up with “ I asked for Skyla through portal and received an ok that they would switch it”. The nurses go out and look and tell me that I “did ask for the Skyla, but they do not have that IUD with them”. No apology no blink of shock from anyone that they were about to insert the wrong iud into me. Just was immediately told they were all out and that there was one similar to it that they had. I explained to them that “Why don’t you have the skyla”. The nurses told me that the doctor wasn't comfortable inserting the Skyla and was comfortable with the Liletta, which they said was the "exact same" as skyla. So of course I was given no time to really think about it and told them it was okay to use. As they leave I start googling Liletta and see that it actually is a cheap knock off brand closer to Mirena and not Skyla. Liletta has more hormones than Skyla and is much bigger than skyla, so someone please tell me how they are exactly alike? DO NOT tell a patient that the two iuds are "exactly alike" they work the same way but are not exactly alike. I wanted the skyla since it was smaller and had less hormones. Hormones cause me to be depressed even on medication, which was the whole point of skyla, as well as never having a baby so feeling more comfortable with a smaller IUD. So the doctor comes back in the room and wants me to sit down and tries starting the IUD insertion before seeing if I am okay with it or had any questions. Yes at the beginning I didn't have any questions because I assumed my IUD was Skyla. I didn't think I would have to double check the IUD myself before it was placed inside me, since it is a pretty important deal to make sure your patient has the correct IUD device. So I had to say "no no no", which they laughed and thought I was just nervous. I was at this point clearly emotionally upset, which you want your patient to be comfortable and relaxed before inserting a device into her cervix, you would think at least. I try to tell them that the two IUDs “are not exactly the same” and was told by the doctor that the “Skyla is no longer being used by most offices”. I was met up with the fact that I didn’t call them to tell them to change it to Skyla when I rescheduled my exact same appointment. Then I asked “why do you not have the IUD in stock”, which I was replied with “well we had it in June and now it is August and we no longer have them”. Which isn’t a viable excuse cause why the hell did nobody tell me I was getting the copper one? Doctor saying “well you didn’t ask for Skyla”, which I replied “I did on portal, all I did was change the date of my appointment”.This wasn’t my concern, my concern was a brand new IUD I had not researched was about to go in my body. I led it up with the question “So this is my fault?”, which I was responded with a sly “well not technically saying that”. This was going to be in my body for not 3 like the Skyla, but 5 years, and no one was wanting to explain the differences. I tried to explain I get depressed with hormones and was told by the doctor that “Liletta has less side effects then Skyla”. At no point did the doctor want to give me time to think about the two or explain the difference. I wanted the Skyla, so why pressure me into a different one? Wrong IUD was going to be put in. I honestly don't take too much stock in online reviews usually (I figure everyone has a bad day now and then and that's what you're hearing). However, I really wish I had paid more attention and heeded their advice. It was just the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. I'm not going to give it anymore time but I can definitely concur with the negative reviews, in that, especially when addressing their mistakes (and there were MANY) there was no accountability and the patient is made to feel like it was their mistake. Misleading information all the way, miscommunication to the extreme in their office practices and procedures, as well as among the practitioners. At the end of the day, I just think they have taken on too many patients and it really shows. Terrible office who has poor communication. Several things happened prior to us leaving this practice. Dr. Bartos never reached out to us to find out why then posted on her FB page- her assumptions. The behavior of her office must be directly learned from her. A Dr who cared would reach out to hear both sides of the story and would want to come to a resolution. We were very heartbroken and frustrated with our experience.

Wrong IUD was going to be put in. [Copper instead of hormone] *IF YOU HAVE ALLERGY TO COPPER THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND RISKY*. I specifically picked copper because my body doesn't handle certain types of metal well, it rejects it. Doctor acting like it was my fault and getting angry along with her nurses. Dr. Bartos takes time with her patients and makes them feel welcome. The environment is very welcoming and wellness focused, and Dr. Bartos is down to earth and explains things in plain language so you can make informed choices about your care. There is no condescension or judgment at Be Women's Health. You feel cared for as a whole person.

The moment I stepped in the door, I knew Be. Women's Health & Wellness would be the OBGYN's office for me! I experienced what I never expected from an OBGYN's office. The office staff were exceptionally attentive and very personable and caring. I met Dr. Bartos, who took her time answering all my questions and was very friendly and funny. She has a way with her smile that shows how much she truly cares for her patients. What a wonderful experience& Blessing to be a part of the Be. Family!

Where do I even start? First, this place is so clean and homey. The staff are welcoming and patient. If anytime a problem arises regarding insurance or payments, they are always willing to try whatever they have can to straighten it out for you. They actually listen to you and try to understand before going forward. The doctor/nurses are so sweet and caring, they make you feel like they've known you forever.
