I am contacting an attorney for his unjust termination of services which occurred due to an office manager that was incredibly rude and didn’t expect to be treated the same way in return. At no point was this one time event aggressive or threatening yet this new “office manager” who replaced the former notoriously over the top rude one is somehow a Girl Scout who can’t appreciate a patient request for flexibility if you at any point use an indirect curse word when she’s offensively speaking to you. This is a doctor to treat mental health. Not justifying any kind of abuse but this was legitimately not an abusive exchange unlike the ones imposed on his patients by his former office manager, Mary. He obviously isn’t concerned about patients but more about these ridiculously rude and unaccountable office managers. Terrible and should be held accountable for his actions. I contacted Dr. Shaw for my 92 year old Uncle who suffered from delusions. I left 3-4 messages regarding medication refill questions. Noone ever called back so I then paged Dr. Shaw in which he yelled at me stating he didn't have time & had many patients! I've never heard of an office that doesn't return your calls pertaining to medication! In that he speaks very quietly & my Uncle was so very hard of hearing, he spoke so quietly but certainly was able to raise his voice at me when he was paged! Highly unprofessional!

At first things went well, but then I had a bad side effect from one of my meds and needed to speak with Dr. Shaw. I left five messages and finally got one call back which I missed. I left two more messages and to this day I have still not heard back. There is also a very rude receptionist running his office, Mary, that doesn’t give him messages. You can never get a hold of Dr. Shaw, everything goes through Mary. You have to depend on her to help you and she won’t. Recently I tried to get a medication refilled and got no response so it wasn’t refilled. Needless to say, I switched doctors ASAP. Please don’t waste your time on a doctor that doesn’t care about his patients. I wish I had been forewarned.

I’ve been with Dr Shaw for 10 years but due to his very rude, nasty secretary Mary, I’ve decided to leave Dr Shaw. Not only is his secretary rude and nasty, she doesn’t give him my messages, tells me she’s very busy when I’m just being polite. I couldn’t get her to understand that my depression was so bad that I desperately needed to speak to Dr Shaw because my medication wasn’t working, still no return call from either Mary or the doctor. You can’t help noticing that this nasty woman never cracks a smile, she doesn’t even look up at you when you’re speaking to her in person! I’ve requested my records be faxed to my primary doctor but Mary said “it’s up to Dr Shaw to forward your records.” Really? You told me you received the release I signed, it’s been almost 2 weeks and I explained to you that I’m out of my medication, apparently his nasty secretary doesn’t care. Too bad, I think Dr Shaw is a kind, caring and compassionate doctor, I bet he’s lost a lot of people because of her!

Dr. Shaw has been my psychiatrist for 20 years. I benefit from his common sense/down to earth clinical care and behavioral guidance. Dr. Shaw's approachable style will facilitate a comfortable conversation between doctor and patient.

Referred to Dr. Shaw from a primary care doc for my elderly Mom. He made the situation much worse prescribing Xanax to a woman of 80 living alone & driving! She went down the rabbit hole after 2 visits and Xanax was devastating. He refused to discuss her care with us when we requested she be weaned from this medication. Women get misdiagnosed . Mom's symptoms were cardiac not entirely anxiety related she died of a heart attack. Just another pill pusher to treat and street in our opinion.

A caring guy & nice doctor I've had & have many . Always makes me feel better & ask how I'm doing , open to suggestions & ive seen him Doc SHAW since I had Cancer ! That was 9 years ago, I consider I'm a common sense good Doctor, who is up on every Med out there. 5/5 He has helped me in life recognizing I enjoy to read he suggested Feeling Good a great book ???? & Mind over Mood “. Frequently cancels appointments due to other commitments. Doesn’t return messages even in urgent situations. I found him to be nice enough in person but unprofessional in the manner in which he practices. Receptionist is rude.

Lucky for me from what I read in the reviews that I didn't even make an appointment.. the receptionist was rude and short with me so I told her no thank you and went with someone else.

The person answering the phone is unnecessarily rude, but Dr. Shaw is kind and I recommend him highly. He is an excellent clinician.

I have no idea what Scott B was talking about when he said this doctor loses his patients with patients and their families repeatedly I have never had that happen I know two other people who see this doctor and it is never happened with them I have been seeing Dr Shaw for almost 3 years and find him to be very conscientious, sweetest, nicest doctors I see and believe me I know I see six different doctors I have many illnesses he always makes me feel better than when I came in. He always has my best interest at heart, listens to what I have to say intently, makes it a point to ask how I'm feeling and how I have been since I saw him last because I have MS he's always asking how things are going with my many medications and all of my other Dr's. He is the third psychiatrist I've had in the last 10 years and believe me he is the best I've had of the three! If you're looking for a psychiatrist and have the opportunity make an appointment with Dr.Shaw I know you'll be happy! Unfortunately you cannot blame him for the girls at the front desk! He was my Doctor for several years until I developed a severe problem with the medication he had me on and then he would not give me time to help me. He told me he would put me in the Hospital and Luthern General did not call me for over a week. By that time I had found another Doctor. He was always 30 to 35 minutes late for every appointment I had with him.

Bad customer service They don't know how to return phone calls And a lady name marry , the worst She said the doctor is too important Dos not have time to return calls and If he needs more clients , he will decide We were referred to him by the hospital And told he was the best !!
