The system is broken entirely when a pcp only spends 30 seconds with an obviously sick patient who is trying to find answers. Seems to be a trend here in Altoona

Asked for a appointment and they took me right away

The exam room was filthy and looked like it had not been updated since 1950. I have NEVER been in an exam room in my life with carpet . How do you expect to be a reputable medical establishment with biohazard boxes sitting on carpet ? Carpet cannot be properly sterilized of blood borne pathogens. Dr Conly is to say the least even more dated than his office . I brought my grandmother in for an examination so she could be admitted to a nursing home . We waited in the exam room for over 30 minuets . When Dr Conly entered the exam room he did not introduce himself . He walked up to my grandmother without gloves or washing his hands and examined my gram. He was then completely rude and abrupt when I asked him to slow down and help us understand the options . Instead of speaking with me he told me that he was “ blunt” He then walked out of the room . Apparently all of his aggression was due to a conservation I had with his nurse while making the appointment . He did not like that I was of the opinion that he was overprescribing narcotics without seeing my grandmother since March of 2016 and being neglectful of her and my grandfather when he knew their health has been rapidly declining . So if you want to run the risk of catching a blood borne illness from the carpet or the doctors lack of hand hygiene this is the place . Visiting the area, called for an appointment and was seen that afternoon. Office was clean, everyone was professional and helpful.

He is never reachable. When you can get an appointment He is not easy to communicate with. Be prepared to wait 45 mins in a filthy exam room on top of dealing with his brash attitude .

Went in to apply and the lady at front desk says under her breathe oh my god? So rude, I'm not even gonna bother applying again!

Doctor Conly is a good guy but more concerned with socializing than medicine. OK for an antibiotic or flu shot. Don't go to him if you are really sick.
