About Dr. Erin Scott Gardner
Reviews for Dr. Erin Scott Gardner
I have never in my life been treated so horrible by a so-called professional. I went to his office after seeing to ents who told me that the infection on my ear was not inner ear but outer and more for a dermatologist but his assistant kept insisting she agreed with the ENT so I later called and got his service and he left me a message stating that if I was going to die I needed to call 911 otherwise he would do a biopsy the next day wow how unprofessional haven't even seen me but you're going to do a biopsy because apparently she lives for biopsies but I accidentally sent a message back after I told him it wasn't funny that it was really hurting me but I accidentally sent the message meant for my friend to him so I did apologize that it wasn't meant for him but I have been dealing with this for 2 years now so he told me to come in and I think his full intention was to humiliate me because that's all he did she didn't care about looking at my ear he told me there was nothing there may
Dr. Gardner and his staff could not have been more accommodating, efficient and informative. Professional service at its finest. Thanks.
Dr gardner and Ali Shearman were consummate professionals regarding my appointment and any general inquiries I had. I would recommend them to anyone in the greater st louis area
We’ve only had two appointments, but each time the wait has been ridiculously long. Today, waited 45 minutes with an 8:15 am appointment and saw dermatologist for 3 minutes.
Great help

I had a small spot on my lip and Dr Gardner told me he could reduce it and that it will get much better. After his procedure the scar got bigger.

Beware of expensive biopsy with no treatment from Dr Gardner This happened to me the biopsy cost $2800 I found him extremely unprofessional , didnt return my calls ,and never treated the fungal infection the biopsy had provided to him What a joke !
Absolutely no bed side manners. I felt like I was at a fast food place, in and out. No real explanation. The office and his help were very unprofessional and all seemed to be more concerned with the number of patients and instead of care. By far the worst dr I have ever experienced !!

Long wait for an appointment and long wait at the office to be seen. Dr. Gardner was nice enough but suggested a medication with a chance of very serious side effects with little discussion of other options. I left disappointed and underwhelmed.
I have a couple spots on my arm I am increasingly concerned about. I left two messages this week, which were not returned. I waited on hold today to eventually get thru, they didn't acknowledge my messages, then told me I could come in in April. No concern about what it going on with the patient...maybe if I go to a primary first they'll maybe get me in sooner. I had been a client for some minor mole removal, but consider me no longer a client. Terrible.
After ordering an expensive $2800 biopsy Dr. Gardner failed to treat me ..
Friendly guy!
Excellent service!
He's a Perfect Doctor
"He's a great Doctor with a great staff!"
He did a very thorough job.
Dr. Garner began a Moes procedure on my 93 year old Mother that the pathology report called an actinic keratosis. This skin condition wouldn’t have killed her, but Dr. Garner’s procedure might have! An emergency room visit and a 3 day hospital visit caused an open wound to begin healing! Dr. Garner refused to make the trip across Missouri Baptist complex to stitch up my Mom, and wouldn’t find anyone to help her out The wound is now left to heal on its own...Wouldn’t recommend this doctor at all!!

I realize everyone has their own opinion so instead of telling you what a poor dermatologist I feel Dr. Gardner is, I'll post my experience and let you be the judge if this is someone you feel would be the best choice to treat you. I developed a small dime sized pink patch on my right cheek, after applying steroid cream to the area for two weeks and there being no improvement Dr.Gardner insisted I should have a biopsy done. I was EXTREMELY hesitant, as it was on my cheek and I scar very easily. He insisted it was the only way to know what it was and "since you wear makeup anyway, you could just put some concealer on the scar". I asked what it "could" be and never received a straightforward answer, he did say he felt strongly it wasn't cancerous. There was a mention of Lupus in passing. I asked of ANY other options for treatment but he insisted a biopsy was the only way. Reluctantly I scheduled the biopsy. Dr. Gardner seemed quite rushed that day, I asked again if there were any other options and if this was necessary. He replied "If it was on my face I would want to know what it was, and pink is never good". I asked if a blood test could be done if his concern was lupus, he shook his head no and was clearly annoyed I was taking up his time. So we moved forward. After Dr.Gardner completed the biopsy and was stitching my face I let him know I could feel it and I wasn't numb, he replied "oh like a twinge?" I said "no like I can feel it" He CONTINUED! He did nothing! I returned after a week to have my stitches removed, I was told they received my biopsy results but because Dr. Gardner was on vacation they couldn't tell me what the results were, I'd have to make another appointment to go over them. This was on December 28th, the first appointment he had available was January 9th! I was expected to wait almost 2 weeks! I let them know I wanted Dr. Gardner to call me when he was back from vacation and discuss the results over the phone so I would at least know what was going on. On January 2nd I contacted the office and reminded them I'd like Dr.Gardner to call me...they said they would "try". An hour later someone from the office called and said Dr.Gardner wants me to make an appointment to come in, I let them know I wasn't waiting until January 9th to find out what I have, he needs to call me before then. They again told me they couldn't tell me what my results were it had to be Dr.Gardner. I insisted Dr.Gardner call. A few hours went by and someone from the office called AGAIN to tell me Dr. Gardner wants me to make an appointment. I asked if they were refusing to give me my biopsy results unless I came in? They replied "Well it's a complicated Lichenoid Dermatitis." To say I was disgusted would be an understatement. Lichenoid Dermatitis is basically a rash from something you came in contact with OR from a medicine recently taken. Here's the worst part, it typically self corrects in 6-9 months. Dr.Gardner not only unnecessarily cut into my face and created a life long scar for something that would have gone away with time, he ignored my requests for a simple phone call to ease my anxiety about the biopsy he insisted I needed. I recently spoke with my primary care physician and he was DUMBFOUNDED that he would cut on my face. He said the ONLY reason to ever do a face biopsy is if there was a concern it was cancerous (which Dr.Gardner felt confident it wasn't). He also said if he was concerned about Lupus there is a simple blood test to determine that. If you recall Dr.Gardner told me there wasn't. I still have never heard from Dr. Gardner. I hope the person reading this seriously reconsiders ever using this dermatologist. It's unfortunate I can't post pictures, the scar I have from this will now need laser treatment. I realize everyone has their own opinion so instead of telling you what a poor dermatologist I feel Dr. Gardner is, I'll post my experience and let you be the judge if this is someone you feel would be the best choice to treat you. … More

Dear Dr. Gardner: My daughter’s agree with me that you have more personality than most doctor’s. (Between us we’ve known quite a few.) Does that make you a better doctor? ABSOLUTELY!!! It generates confidence, peace of mind, and lessens the fear of whatever you have to tell your patients. You are very young to be so intuitive. Trust me. I’m an expert at imagining the worst case scenario. Often without basis. I’ve never met a doctor so thorough. You ask questions. You listen. You examine. Most doctors wait for me to think of problems, which I often forget until I leave the office, leaving questions unanswered. Your staff call the day after a procedure. Somewhat unusual but it allows a patient to vent or ask more questions. I’m grateful that Dr. McDonald retired. Otherwise I would never had the privilege of meeting the best in your field. That is a comfort in itself. If there is a problem, I’m in good hands. (No pun intended.) God Bless you, Shelley Dear Dr. Gardner: My daughter’s agree with me that you have more personality than most doctor’s. … More
Dr Gardner is very professional and curtious
Excellent care, I would recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable dermatologist.
Great!
Doctor took the time to really listen and look and his plan is helping my problem so far. Everyone was so friendly! Recommend to anyone. Very impressed with my visit.

My experience was bad. A BIG waste of money and my time! I went for chronic dandruff, dry skin on my face that I have had on/off for over 5 years. I explained all the products I have tried and failed. He did not even look at my scalp, he just handed me a piece of paper that had recommended products of which I have tried most of them. No samples or sincere concern for my problem, he could't be bothered. My real confirmation was when I went to another Dr. and he addressed my issues immediately.

Would not recommend this service to anyone. 13 weeks to get in to see the doctor. Friday before scheduled surgery(on Monday) was told that because of my high insurance deductible that I would have to pay for the surgery before I left that Monday(May 1). I ask for a ball park estimate, was told $800-$3000. I explained that they would have to bill me, was told they don't bill or accept installment payments. I cancelled the surgery. I was called 2 weeks ago for a follow up visit. 6/6/2017

Dr. Gardner and his staff are GREAT I had skin cancer surgery 3/28 and I couldn't have been treated any better. When I called to make my appointment, I spoke with John who was excellent, He is a big asset to the staff When I think of all the staff, there is only one word GREAT. Dr. Gardner is the best. He has done surgery on me for the second time (14 years ago) I will refer anyone I know to him. I received a call today checking to make sure I didn't have any problems Thanks
Slim to none.more interested in impressing student than my concerns.I wanted biopsy but he didn't think necessary. Gave same cream had been using for 2 months with minimal change. Took blood in office to make sure was nothing internal but lost blood and denied taking it.
Very smart. Takes time to really listen. Staff is excellent!

Dr. Gardner and his staff have been delightful while managing my extensive facial sun damage. He is neat, well groomed, thorough and personable. Professionally he has exceptional training and technical skill. Throughout the course of treatment he has informed me clearly in language I can understand. I particularly enjoy his dry sense of humor. I am certain that I will not hesitate to consult him for future problems.
I was impressed how well and efficient he done his job. He is very good at what he does. I would send anyone to him and feel confident that they also will be impressed. Thanks for the job well done on my surgeries. Thank you again. D.Jaggie
As a mature/insightful adult, I expected to meet with the same level of intellect and maturity. This did not happen. Gardner met me with an insincere handshake gesture. He repeatedly snapped at me for being relaxed/without fear or anxiety. He left the meeting the same way he entered. The nurse giving the injection into my mole area was cold and hurt me. She knew she was hurting me. She gave no sign of caring 'at all.' I went home bruised and sicker than when I arrived. Consumer beware!!

I was very nervous about having MOHS surgery on my neck. Dr. Gardner and his staff are very professional and put me at ease. I was told exactly what to expect and treated with such kindness. I was afraid the scar would be very noticeable, however, Dr. Gardner is very masterful and much like a plastic surgeon, I can barely see the scar. So pleased and thankful to Dr. Gardner.

Dr Gardner was very professional & I felt confidence when he did my MOHs procedure. His staff seemed a little disorganized, especially the younger women. I attributed it to the fact that they might be new & possibly learning how the office ran. I do want to mention a staff member, a black woman, middle age, who made me feel I was in good hands. The surgery was above my upper lip & she knew how to bandage the area in order to keep the pressure on it. She is an asset to the team.
