Dr. Altschuler has operated on me three times over the past thirteen years, and I have nothing but glowing reviews for his work as a neurosurgeon. He is extremely competent and has done great and vital work on both my cervical and my wrist. This is only the beginning of the work for Dr. Altschuler, however. He is always very thorough in following up to ensure a successful patient recovery, and in handling clerical matters and paperwork. In addition to it all, his bedside manner is wonderful - positive, kind, and deeply patient-focused. All in all, I recommend Dr. Altschuler's services in the strongest terms possible; there is no doctor I would have rather helped me through my procedures. Dr.Altschuler performed ADR surgery on my neck at the end of November. Leading up to, day of, and after surgery, Dr. Altschuler was extremely straightforward, honest, and professional. I would reccomend him and his staff to anyone (and have).

Dr. Altschuler performed ADR on me in late Novemeber of 2021. I couldnt be happier with the decision to go with Dr. Altschuler and his team. The months leading up to the procedure were extremely painful and stressful but consultations with Dr. Altschuler leading up to the surgery gave me confidence the procedure would go well and alleviate my symptoms. He was very thorough and took his time to explain the procedure. Actual surgery went fantastic and I have Improved nearly 100 percent since surgery. Thank you to Dr. Altschuler and his team for the great care and outcome!

Dr Altschuler performed a laminectomy on me on November 1, 2021. He is an amazing doctor and I highly recommend him. He has a warm bedside manner, answers all of my questions and demonstrates true concern for my well-being! As a BONUS....he is timely with his appointments! If you are looking for a neurosurgeon he is your guy!

Dr Altschuler has done back surgery on my husband back who has been in pain for year. The outcome from that surgery was better than we expected. My husband pain has decreased by 75% and can walk much better and long. Thank to Dr Altschuler I would highly recommend him to anyone

I recently had back surgery and I am 100% satisfied with Dr. Altschuler and his staff. My surgery was very successful in reducing my pain and all of my concerns during my recovery so far have been addressed quickly and professionally! I would highly recommend Dr. Altschuler and his staff to family and friends!

I have nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about Dr. Altschuler and his PA's and staff. Having your spine operated on is terrifying. He was very kind, honest, and knowledgeable in my meetings leading up to surgery. I had a disc replacement (5-6) and fusion (6-7) in my neck in Sept 2020 with him. The recovery was shockingly seamless and the results are better than I expected. He is just as kind and attentive in his follow-up visits as he was initially and prior to surgery. I plan to have him do my replacements in my lower back as well when the time comes. I give him the highest recommendation possible.

I refer complete strangers to Dr Altschuler, he has certainly impressed me , I am now 6 weeks post op from C5-6 disc replacement, and C6-7 fusion. I did Dr shop before seeing him, but he immediately made me feel comfortable. He has advanced skills (disc replacement) and a competent manner. I was refered to him by a nurse friend who had worked with him in the OR and with his post op Patients. I cannot imagine that I am now relieved of the pain that i had , 10 months after the cervical injury. Super guy, great surgeon! His office is run efficiently and the secretaries and nurses are top notch

Dr Altschuler gave me back my smile! You know, chronic pain takes a toll on every last nerve and person around you. I have had 10 months of trying to get back to normal, and post op ,almost immediately was relieved of shoulder neck and arm pain . Dr Altschuler replaced C5-6 and fused C6-7. On November 4th. Also got me out of the hospital as quickly as possible during this COVID-19 Pandemic. The scar on my neck is minimal. My discomfort tolerable (Advil) I am ever so grateful for the opportunity to proceed with my life.

Dr. Altschuler is my HERO! I had terrible back and leg pain. He moved up my appointments and surgery. I had no complications. After my surgery, all my pain disappeared. Absolutely my hero and definitely recommend him and the office.

I came all the way from greensburg pa. for a serious back operation on 2-24-20 performed by DR. AltSchuler . I woke up Pain free , Now six weeks later still no pain and no problems. I'd recommend Dr. AltSchuler to my friends and family. I'am a happy Guy.

I was under the Drs care for a badly herniated disc causing severe sciatica pain. He performed a partial diskectomy to correct the problem, and I am doing very well. The doctor has excellent bedside manner and his staff is wonderful.

I recently selected Dr Altschuler after meeting with 3 other spine surgeons for a herniated c6/c7 disc causing pain and numbness in my right arm. He is extremely thoughtful and approachable and has significant experience with the Mobi-C artificial disc. I am extremely fortunate to have found this practice. Had multi level fusion and decompression with excellent results.Took time to explain, and was very courteous.

My husband was in extreme pain for several months. After same day surgery by Dr Altschuler, David was completely pain free. What a miracle!

I just had a cervical disc issue and had it replaced yesterday by this GREAT doctor. I been having issues for months and had to do alot of slow steps with pt. This doc was able to get me in earlier than he had to so I didnt have to live with pain. Personally called me today the day after to check on me. GRADE A plus plus plus. Even though sore still. I can already notice a huge change in the nerves through my arm. He has changed my complete demeanor going forward. Ps I hate any type of doctor so when I like them. I have had back pain on and off for 10 years but this past summer was the worst pain it had ever been. After getting an mri and making an appointment with Dr. Altschuler, we decided on surgery for my L4 disc. I’m so happy to have had Dr. Altschuler as my doctor. He explained everything he was going to do and my recovery. I woke up from surgery relieved of my pain. Dr. Altschuler was great about answering my phone calls too when I was recovering and even helped me with a non-back problem. Thank you so much for making me pain free!!! Went in to see Dr. Altschuler with severe pain in my neck going down my right arm with numbness in my right hand, the pain was debilitating. After the tests, we decided that the best thing for me was surgery. Dr. Altschuler put an artificial disc in my c6-c7 area. When I was in recovery I raised my arm and had zero pain!! I am sooo thankful to Dr. Altshuler and his PA-C Chelsea for giving me my life back. I am only 11 days after surgery and I feel GREAT. I would definitely recommend Dr. Altschuler and i would not hesitate in the future to have him operate on me again.....I hope not to have anymore. 4 years ago my husband was injured in the line of duty and needed some major spinal surgery. Living in Erie, we decided Pittsburgh was not too far to drive for a consult after not feeling comfortable with local surgeons. With the amount of work he needed done, we wanted the best. And we found it in Dr Altschuler. Along with his office staff and the staff at Jefferson Hills Hospital we would highly recommend them all. We were so pleased, we recently returned for another needed surgery. Its worth the short drive to get a high quality, skilled surgeon. Don’t settle for what may be available to you in your town. Travel to the best. It’s worth the piece of mind knowing you’re in the hands of a great doctor. I had surgery on January 7th and I couldn't be more pleased with Dr Altschuler! He told me that I should feel 85% better after surgery but he was wrong..... I am 95% better. I wish I had gone to him 8yrs ago. I will forever be grateful to him!!

Dr. Altschuler just performed my surgery for my cervical spinal stenosis. I was totally confident in him because he totally explained the condition I was in and the procedure he was gonna perform.
