Dr. Elizabeth A Baker

I was jerked around for an annual physical appointment once too much.. Doc went on vacation and they cancelled appt placed long ago and told me they rebooked me several months out. I rejected that and had to hang up for a business call. Office manager called back and we came to agreement on new appt. I called to confirm date, and they had no record of the new appt. They then tried to book me with other practitioners in their office, first a PA, then another doc since my doc was booked 6 months out. I said that since their front office cannot provide appropriate service for a busy businessman, goodby. I was then able to get an appt within a week with a doc in a different practice with great quals and reviews. Again, Dr. Baker is excellent. I will even say the people in the front office are nice caring folks. But nonetheless, the front office at Park Ridge Family Medicine New West Physicians stinks.

Dr Baker is an absolutely wonderful doctor. Any negative reviews appears to be about the office, front desk and administration, which in large group practices has nothing to do with the individual doctors, and is all about the large medical organization and their systems, processes and lack of funding to support busy offices, in an effort to maximize their profits… which is pretty much the case in any major metro area that is growing with the major medical groups. Dr. Elizabeth Baker is the best doctor I've ever seen. I'm appalled that the other reviewers would put a 2 start rating on a world class doctor because of the receptionist. Dr. Baker is smart, solution based, and kind. She has accurately diagnosed many of my reasons for visiting, and she thinks outside the box for ideas that fix your issue without compromising other facets of your health. Rough crowd out there. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Baker to family and friends and have done so. She is caring, she listens to you and has a great sense of humor.

Showed up to an apt. They cancelled on me last minute. No follow up or calling. Awful, even lied to,me saying they called despite never doing so. Awful awful awful

It'd be great if they would return any phone calls I make to set up an appt. The one time I did get through I had to go grab my insurance card and they hung up on me when I was away for < 5 seconds.

Horrendous. I havent seen my actual PCP in 2 years. Everytime I call to make an appointment or ask a question etc I am placed on an eternal hold. Today I spent literally 20 minutes on hold waiting for someone to answer to discuss my prescription changes. Not wasting my time any longer. THE WORST SERVICE IMAGINABLE. If you need help and need to see a physician find somewhere else. The office staff if too incompetent to even book the correct appointments. My girlfriend was scheduled for a physical and was double booked for an appointment to look at a soar throat.. how does this even happen?? Now we are here for our second time for the actual appointment, my girlfriend ran in to get the process started because we came in right at the check-in time and they laughed at her!! Really Really terrible customer service! I don't care how large this practice is or how good the doctors might be, if can never get a hold of anyone this practice should go out business! You should NEVER have to wait 15 minutes on hold to try and talk to someone in the front office to simply setup an appointment or get a question answered- but what's worse is if you end up having to leave a message and NEVER get a call back. I share the same opinion written in previous reviews. I love Dr. Baker, she is a fabulous doctor, but unfortunately the front office is the worst run staff I have ever experienced. Although switching doctors is the last thing I want to do, the inept behavior of the office staff is inexcusable and completely unacceptable. I hope the doctors on staff are reading these reviews so they can hire a competent manager who knows how to run a medical practice. BTW, if you are trying to get in touch with your doctor, you can't at this time. When you call, you automatically get the "all circuits are busy" message! Really??? The doctor may be wonderful but I never got past the office representatives. I agree that they aren’t helpful. It just seems like a poorly run practice, which affects your overall experience.

Ive seen Dr. Coleman for the past 4 years and she has been wonderful, but the rest of the staff and office are dismissive and short with you The last time I called to make an appointment, the recpetionist was eating chips during our convo. Not sure who manages these people, but there is no accountable. Numerous times ive gotten the old, well call you tomorrow with the results of your blood work, just to hear nothing for days and I end up having to call them back. There are way too many Primaries in and around this area to settle for sub-par. I've been a patient for 18 years, and have been seeing the same physician, Dr Coleman, the entire time and she's wonderful this is no reflection on her. Unfortunately, reception, the back office, and overall communication and service within the practice itself is terrible - it's slow, they forget things, I've had improperly coded bills that I've had to fight back and forth between them and insurance no less than two times, and they make it impossible for you to actually communicate with your physician - the only way is through the patient portal. The last two times I've been in I've asked to be signed up, and no surprise, I'm still not. I wish I could say this was a limited occurrence and they'll tell you it's because they're short-staffed right now. If only that were true, or if it is, then it's been YEARS that they've been short-staffed, the experience has been consistently poor for the last 5 years. I was running late for a general appointment So naturally I called to let the office know in advance. The receptionist refused to take my name and even after I told my approximate arrival time she said come on down. When I get to the office after sitting in traffic, sorry we can’t help. Absolutely no respect was reciprocated. People run late, car accidents happen etc. There are thousands of general physicians in this city...who needs to deal with attitude like this. The Doctor and nurse I saw were great which is what really counts! The administrative person that I dealt with behind the counter was extremely rude though. Very abrasive attitude that is uncalled for in a doctor's office setting.

Dr Jeffers is amazing.

Dr. Baker is phenomenal. I've been seeing her for years and years. She always takes time and never rushes. I feel like I always get exceptional care and consideration from her at all appointments.

Horrendous service and very poor back office communication/process. Completely forgot that I had already seen a doctor and failed to properly submit an insurance authorization for medication. Rachel (back office manager) was particularly rude, demeaning and overall not helpful.

Dr. Baker has wonderful bedside manor. I feel like she really listens to me and puts my mind at ease. She is a wonderful doctor. My husband and I have been going to her for 10 years.

Dr. Baker is amazing - both my husband and I love and trust her. She always takes her time with our appointments, addresses all of our concerns and makes sure to follow-up if there are any issues.

Dr Baker has been our family doctor for 15 years. We absolutely love her. She takes time with you and listens to your concerns. She is compassionate and very knowledgeable. Yes the practice is busy, but that's because they are so good.

I have been going to Dr. Baker for 4 yrs now, being an ICU nurse for 17 yrs I am pretty particular about my PCP. That being said, I think she is great!!! Always takes her time & genuinely listens to my needs. Every experience with Dr. Baker has been great, we need more Dr.'s like her. Michelle Garcia

Disappointed in this practice. To schedule with doctor must book almost a year out :( They prefer you see PA's, of course there is a bigger profit since they charge doctor rates for PA's.

Best physician ever! Caring, very thorough and always attentive to health concerns that I've had over the years. I can't believe there aren't more ratings for her but I suppose most people only write a review when they're dissatisfied.

Anyone lucky enough to have Dr. Elizabeth Baker, is fortunate indeed! She is by far, one of the most compassionate, caring doctors I have had the privilege of being my caretaker. She is thorough, attentive, sensitive to your issues and totally interested in what the patient is conveying. I have always had excellent response from the staff in that office and feel they are to be commended for the respect and responsiveness to the patient, be it on a phone call face to face. Theresa

I had a serious condition and she basically blew me off as if I was making it up. I felt humiliated and like I was imposing on her because I had to make several appointments because she couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. She assumed it must be mental, come to find out it could have been very serious.

Dr. Baker was attentive approachable and professional throughout my wife's first time visit . We are fortunate to have been recommended to her. I fully trust the care, advice and guidance provided by Dr. Baker when it comes to the health care involving my bride and high school sweetheart (Kimberly) of 26 years .

I was referred to Dr. Baker by my daughter who loves her, and she's everything good you could hope for in a family doctor. The people that work for her at the desk & on the phone have been consistently unfriendly, unwelcoming, & even refusing to schedule an appt. for ne when I just got out of the ER. In the end, I decided the unpleasant attitudes weren't worth it & found another doctor who had great reviews online-AND a nice staff. By the way, my daughter agrees with everything I said. She's becoming a PA ( physician's assistant).

I have been going to Dr. Baker for about a year now and I couldn't be more impressed. She always returns phone calls, is very attentive, and is extremely knowledgable. She also takes the time to explain things, which helped ease some of my anxiety. Seeing how well dr baker has treated me and how responsive she is, my mom is now switching to her as well. It's nice to finally have a dr that I trust and can rely on. One thing I have learned over the last year is it's very scary when you have something go wrong with your health, but having a dr you can trust can make all the difference. Only con--she is about 25 minutes away from where I live.

In all fairness, Dr. Baker is an OK doctor. The problem I had is that she never appeared to really analyze my problem and tell me what's going on. It was like she just wanted me to leave the office so she could get to her next patient. I rarely go into see doctors so when I do I want answers not just a pat on my back having a doctor tell me nothing is wrong. I am no longer going to her as my primary so I must say that I would not recommend her. The real reason I wanted to write this review is to let people know the experince I had with her staff. Wow, never have I been treated so rudely. They gave me such a hard time every time I interacted with them. Dr. Baker's staff is rude, rude, rude, and rude and they are the main reason I'm no longer going to her. People that have personal problems should not work the front desk of any place. The person with the major issues is someone named Kaitlin. Fire her now!!!!!
