Awesome doctor, very thorough, caring and compassionate

This guy's a hack. He performed a discectomy on my father, telling him it woud restore left arm function. Well it didn't and this guy basically gave my dad a totally unnecessary surgery. So yeah ,he's a total hack. Talking to a lawyer this week about it. Stay away from this clown.

Explained everything in detail while showing me the MRI results and all the options to alleviate the problem.

Very timely and showed concern for my problems. Reviewed X-rays with me and pointed out problem areas and potential treatments.

Dr Song was very thorough in explaining the surgery and the potential hazards. In appointments after the surgery he explained the healing and recovery process. I especially liked the fact that he and his pa were prompt with my appointments and did not keep me waiting . I would highly recommend him to anyone needing spine surgery.

Dr Song has done 4 of my back surgeries. He’s always been up front and honest about my issues. He has an amazing staff as well.

Dr. Song is my hero, very punctual, professional, and caring; he has performed 3 back surgeries for me, and a 4th will probably be scheduled soon. I highly recommend Dr. Song for anyone with back problems.

Dr Song has been very personable, and has sent me to a weightloss doctor to help with my back pain rather than surgery.

I did not have to wait long. Dr. Song was very informative and discussed in great detail what the issue is. He's easy to understand.

Dr. Song was very thorough in going over my upcoming surgery, explaining the procedure and the reasoning behind it. He also covered the risks associated with it. As well as recovery time and pain management.

Dr. Song is direct! He references your images (X-ray, MRI, etc…) and explains in understandable terms the area of concern. He lets you know immediately what your options are. He is genuine… I highly recommend him.

Best spinal surgeon. I would not go to any other dr when it comes to my spine. I would highly recommend to anyone!

I love Dr Song because he doesn’t push you to surgery. He prefers other options first. He’s very nice and extremely knowledgeable.

Dr Song is not a caring person. I feel that he doesn’t spend enough time with the patient, he doesn’t show good bedside manner and he is judgmental with patients. I did not expected to have such bad experience as a patient.

I am not impressed with Dr. Song. My impression is he wants to blame all my problems I'm having on degenerative disc. His time with me lasted about 3 minutes at the most.

Dr. Song is a very knowledgeable and caring surgeon. Believe it or not my case manager from BCBS was the one that found him years ago I highly recommend him for spinal surgeries.

I went to Dr. Song to get a 3rd opinion, it was a total waste of money! He had my MRIs sent to his office week's before my appointment to review. I got there and they said I needed x-rays and went according to the x-rays, anyone who has been dealing with severe pain for 21 yrs he didn't even bother to look at my MRIs, which anyone dealing with this issue knows that MRI reading are better than X-rays! He tried to convince me that it's just arthritis, the MRIs show exposed nerves and narrowing of the spinal canal, I guess I thought I was seeing a real specialist/surgeon, who turned out to be a total waste of time and money!! He doesn't listen to the patient!! Sorry Dr. Song, but you might have been doing this for 16 yrs, but you need to go back to learn how to treat your patients I went to Dr. Song to get a 3rd opinion, it was a total waste of money! Everyone I was in contact with was very nice and helpful. Dr. Song was great and informative. I'm looking forward to working with him!

Dr. Song, his medical assistant Marcus and his staff were the BEST that I ever experienced in my 57 years. His truthfulness about my back pain will help me to take the next steps down the road. I will always remember the kindness he showed me for the rest of my life.

Dr. Song will lie to you and can't be trusted! A terrible person and doctor, he makes promises he can't or won't meet, then dismiss you when he fails. NOT TO BE TRUSTED!

He failed and walks away from it! In another career you pay for their mistakes you pay for your failures!

I thought my visit with Dr. Song went very well. He explained what he was going to do. He also explained why he wasn’t going to do another procedure on my spine. I am in agreement with him on both of them. I would recommend him

He was very nice, and very concerned about me

Dr. Song has been very informative and helpful throughout my back surgery. The surgery has been effective and to date has been successful. I would and have recommended others to Dr. Song and OrthoArizona.

May 15th of 2020 Dr. Song performed surgery on my lumbar spine, I had several problems at L2/3, he performed a fusion at this level, after that was completed, he did a laminectomy to give my spinal cord more room. I had surgery on Friday, the nursing staff had me up walking by midnight and I went home the next day! I had another MRI in November, basically my discs at L4/5 and L5/S1 were dedicated. He suggested that I try a spinal cord stimulator. He was exactly right! I am living almost pain free! Thank you Dr. Song! Dr. Song was completely patient from start to finish. He walked thru surgical procedure step by step,ade sure to answer all my questions in pre-op and each follow up appt he heard my questions and talked through them with me.

Love Dr Song, he has performed two very successful operations on my cervical and lumbar spine. Follow up visits are exceptional and always on time, I have always been in and out in less than 30 minutes....just about unheard of with other doctors!! Thanks Dr. Song

Dr. Song & his staff are exceptional, complete exam, consultation, & diagnosis. My case is severe, & does require surgery. The entire OrthoArizona team is amazing. I would recommend them to everyone for any of your surgical care.

Terrible Doctor. When things went bad he bailed and left me in horrible pain. Not to be trusted!!

Very poor provider. He'll bail out when things don't go well. Can't recommend him.

Horrible, Dr. Song has left me in serve pain, all my symptoms are worse. I suffered DVT's and PE IMMEDIATELY after surgery making things much more uncomfortable. When faced with these failures he stated that I don't handle surgery well and that he "didn't know what to tell me", and he should! He cut me lose and left me in limbo. We had to suggest a spinal stimulator to him as a possibility before he'd help with that! He abandoned me when things didn't work out for him. He still gets paid and walks away, without the pain, drop foot, and disability that I carry. Pray to God this man is kept from harming someone else as he has me.

Good back surgeon skills Terrible at Abdominal Issues from his Back Surgery .... I am left with a Weakened Abdominal Wall which is so uncomfortable and hard on the BODY CORE i would Not Return as a Patient & Beware of AZ Spine & Joint Hospital ....

I read these reviews and wonder why everyone is reporting such great service when my visit was nothing more than an hour of waiting and a 2 minute visit by Edward Song who was clearly not wanting to listen, answer questions or offer help. He and his staff knew before talking to me that they wanted an MRI but went through the sham of a visit. Why? They could have requested I get an MRI somewhere in the 4 weeks I waited for this appointment prior to coming in. But they did not do that. Instead, so they can bill for two visits, they conducted the first "exam" which was under 2 minutes, require an MRI (refusing to answer ANY questions without the MRI) and then have a visit after the MRI. This is crooked. And an absolute disrespecting of patient's time.
