Dr. Douglas A Songer

Excellent. Listens well, not afraid to make changes, not drastic, but simple changes. He's changed some medicines around for me that my previous doctor just kept increasing and didn't listen to me. He's personal, knows what's going on with me, my life, my situation. Always in a good mood. Easy to get appointments, MyChart works well, no issues with prescription issues. Recommend to all.

I guess he didn’t like what I put on the questionnaire. The fact you asked for a questionnaire to be done so you can determine if you would take a new patient I don’t even know how to feel about that. But I included the questionnaire for others who decide to inquire about this office.

Dr. Songer is the best psychiatrist I’ve seen. I was in a bad place mentally and he put me on a set of meds that were perfect for my condition. Nailed it right away. Kept me from having a break. He also diagnosed me with a different disorder than my PCP so we could finally move towards progress. I’ve been to Dr. Songer for several years now. I’ve referred 2 friends to him and they also are getting excellent care. He’s truly compassionate, kind and great at addressing concerns and giving advice. So surprised at the negative reviews. I think he’s fantastic! Highly recommend.

He's a true professional and wonderful to deal with. Love going to his office. Keeps me sane. Can't begin to thank him enough.

I’ve seen Dr. Songer for a few years now. I feel that he takes his time and looks at a variety of factors impacting my wellness. He quickly responds to MyChart messages and online appointments help keep me from missing work. I am very happy with my experience here.

I am thankful I could have my appointment via phone. All went very well and he gave me good info about a new medication my PCP put me on. I was also able to make another appointment and pay for my visit - so easy.

Ran into problem with traffic. Was unable to contact the receptionist to see if Dr Songer wanted to video chat instead. Message to voice mail was not returned. Dr Songer was very flexible in helping me out when I arrived late.

Dr. Songer helped put me at ease for an appointment I was very nervous about. He was very kind and explained my issues well to me. He proved to be very knowledgeable about his field and well-experienced. He was very comfortable I could tell in his work because he had so much experience, and although I was nervous about if I would be able to explain my issues to him, he asked the perfect questions and follow-up questions to help me answer. He was very reassuring when I did not know an answer too.

I just wish I could tell everything that I need to get out. But I can't because he only let's you in the room for five to ten minutes. Then your given a time frame to co.e back for the next appointment.

I was a patient of Dr Songer for 3 years. I was being seen for Major Depression Disorder, Anxiety, and PTSD from childhood trauma. I recently started medication to help manage my diabetes. I took my usual depression med with it and IMMEDIATELY felt horrible. I sent a MyChart msg asking if that was normal and he responded that those 2 meds don't work well together and will make my depression worse. So I had to take one or the other. I reach out, again via MyChart to ask if he recommends a med that can be taken together. Nothing. No response. Radio Silence. It was around Thanksgiving so I assumed maybe he was out of the office or was busy. I waited and still didn't hear from him. Again, understanding I'm not his only patient so I am trying to give him time to answer. Plus it was the holiday season. It is now January and I haven't heard anything so I called the office. I was told I needed to make an appointment. We had a video visit and I mentioned how it would of been helpful to let me know that he wanted me to come in. I was waiting for a response to tell my PCP. He lost it. He was yelling at me explaining how he doesn't communicate via MyChart. (he must of forgotten he had before) He was interrupting me while I was trying to speak. Being insanely rude. When he got done he said in a very condescending tone "Do you wanna talk or not?" I explained that I was not comfortable having a session with him while he had that demeanor. I then got a letter stating he was dropping me as a patient due to: difference in treatment care philosophy between physician and patient. 3 years ended over his ego. I beg you seek help elsewhere.
