What is up with these front desk people?!?!?! Do they hate their jobs that bad or are they just miserable people?!?!?!

The front desk lady was very rude. I walked in and she never even looked up and greeted me, despite it being first thing in the morning and it not being busy. I said “Good morning!” to which she just said “do you have an appointment” with attitude. i also said i forgot my mask and she just said “we dont have extra to give out” which i feel if you require people to have masks you should have extra! they also said i can have one person and i had my nephew who is 1 in a car seat and figured it wouldnt be a big deal since he would just be in his car seat but she cancelled my appointment. honestly if youre going to work with pregnant women you need to learn some manners i dont see any reason for someone to have an attitude at 730 am The front desk lady was very rude. In reading some of these comments, it’s kind of sad to see some peoples reviews. This is my second pregnancy dealing with Dr. Helms. The office has always been nice, including staff. I am a high risk pregnant patient so I’ve had consults with Dr.Helms and in my last delivery he saw me every day while I was admitted. He is matter of fact, not there to be your friend or sugar coat things but to give you the facts of your situation. I get where it can come off as cold but in a high risk situation you need those facts whether you want them or not. For office visit consults, it usually takes about 45 min to see him from the scheduled appointment time, but what people don’t realize is he spends his time back and forth at the hospital seeing high risk pregnant women. He may have a more urgent matter he has to deal with before he sees you. It may not be ideal but that’s the job. In reading some of these comments, it’s kind of sad to see some peoples reviews. One thing I hate about this place…they make appointment without asking if the time or day will work for you; if you want to change it, they’ll give you attitude and being rude about it. Only reason why I gave 3 stars is because some of the US tech were very good…especially Debbie. She very knowledgeable and was so gentle. I would avoid Jen P. at all cost, she was very rough and I told her to ease up on the pressure but that didn’t make a different. I was in pain for a couple of days post US. They are allowed to waste your time but you are to never waste their time. When I showed up on time I had to wait an hour before I was seen. I was late by 30 min and they were completely unable to see me. I live in Fresno but my employment is 1.4 hours away from this place.

My appointment was at 11:15am. I walked in the door at 11:00am. Didn’t get called back until 11:40ish and now it’s 12:02 pm and I’ve been waiting this whole time for someone to come in and do my ultrasound. Long wait time sucks especially when no one notifies you if they’re behind. So unprofessional. My back is killing me while I wait here for the ultrasound person to come in. Just so frustrating ???? Terrible experience wouldn’t go back front desk people are beyond rude.

I’d rate 0 if I could He’s rude and called me fat :( I’m 18 and he was disrespecting me for planning my pregnancy at 18. Dr. Helm has absolutely no bedside manner. For being a Perinatologist and working with high risk pregnancies, he has no tact and delivered news that our baby was going to be born with dwarfism in the worst way possible. He used derogatory terms when referring to our baby. I do not recommend this practice to anyone.

Going in was frustrating. I went into my first appointment, and the billing department didn't look into my insurance correctly. It made my appointment be pushed back an hour. Second time billing issues again, January 4th, 2021. I got a call a week and a half later to make payment when I was sure my insurance would make payment in full. Was lied to said claim was declined. Today I looked at EOB my insure paid in full $0 patient responsibility. I just made a payment last week because they stated the claim was denied although I was 100% sure it wasn't true. I paid it since they insisted I needed to make payment. Just some advice billing take the extra step to listen to your patients and maybe go the extra step to call insurance. I really wanted to keep getting my ultrasounds done here because this is where my OB prefers me to go. At my first ultrasound here, I was not notified my husband could not be present for the appointment after he already took time off of work. I understand COVID restrictions, but everything is starting to open back up, and with precautions I feel like my husband should be able to attend. Because of this, I will be using another practice for all of my future ultrasounds. It is very important to me that my husband can attend. If Dr. Helm's policy changes, I would definitely come back. This is a great place. I just wish they would allow my husband to come in with me to see the ultrasound. Especially now that things are opening back up. He has not seen one ultrasound since I got pregnant. This is our first child. Hopefully things will change soon.

I really enjoyed my visit to this office. The whole staff was so nice and just very welcoming. I had a short wait time also which was nice. The ultrasound tech took her time with my ultrasound and made sure she got a lot of good pictures, which I appreciated it. I also really liked that they sent me multiple pictures and videos after my appointment. I have my second visit today and I’m really looking forward to it. I really enjoyed my visit to this office. The staff here is amazing and very professional. Dr. Helm is very professional and knowledgeable. Sometimes his bedside manner isn’t the best, however, I’d rather be told a straight answer than have something sugar-coated and made to seem less serious than it is.

Dear Dr. Helm, My son and I are former patients of yours way back in the early 90s before Fresno Community Hospital expanded into what it is today. You looked me in the eye and said "I'm not sure this baby is going to make it, but here's what were going to try..." I’ve been going to Dr. Helm’s office during my pregnancy and have loved every visit there! The group of sonographers at this office are amazing, knowledgeable and make you feel comfortable during each visit. The girls in the front are super nice and professional as well. Definitely recommend them!

I had a wonderful experience all-around at this office. From the short wait time to the quality of the exams--each step of the way was pleasant and effortless. The front desk girls are so happy and welcoming. The sonographers are very knowledgeable and walk you through every part of the exam as they are scanning. I loved going to Dr. Helm’s office for my visits! Everybody working there is friendly and very helpful. If I ever had any questions, they were always answered in full detail and always made me feel like an amazing soon-to-be-mother. The ultrasounds are so detailed and easily accessible (both printed and digital - sometimes videos!) I’m definitely coming back my next pregnancy. I loved going to Dr. Helm’s office for my visits! I’ve been to this office for both of my pregnancies and have never had a bad experience. The sonographers are all very sweet and knowledgeable. They put me at ease every time I have an ultrasound done and I’ve never had to wait longer than maybe 5 minutes for my appointment, which is always a plus. Scheduling is always easy too. I went to this office throughout both of my pregnancies and had a great experience each visit. I was always greeted kindly at the reception area, I never had to wait more than 5 to 10 minutes before being seen, the sonogram technicians were amazing, and Dr. Helm himself knows his medical material. He is a high risk doctor for a reason and I always trusted his opinion. Overall they are a wonderful office and I would highly recommend them to all my family and friends. I was able to see one of the sonographers and I can say what a phenomenal experience I had. Very caring and very in depth with their ultrasounds. I work in a medical office and I could tell everyone was so happy to work there. The front office seemed new, but the back office seemed like they had been there for a long time! I am so grateful I was referred here!!

This is a horrible place, doctors are not professional or friendly. Not communicative, had an ultrasound done here, will not be going back. He is insensitive and will not be sympathetic to your situation. Told me I had had a miscarriage then immediately said "maybe you should wait longer before you try and get pregnant next time honey" called my doctor with me still on the table and told her that it was "fetal demise" then left. He didn't shut the door and he immediately started joking with the staff outside my door before I could even get dressed, unaffected after sharing the most tragic news with me. When I was pregnant with my son and they found abnormalities he said "Too bad you didn't get genetic testing first, we could have avoided this whole thing." A doctor should have better bedside manner and actually care about his patients and their well being.

I am so incredibly frustrated at this office.. I had an appointment scheduled for today, but I also had an insurance change to Kaiser the 1st of January, so I also decided to call dr. Helm’s office to confirm if I would still be able to be seen with Kaiser now as my primary (even though I had yet to be seen or even schedule an appointment there!) BUT I also have pregnancy medi-cal as my secondary insurance. The receptionist I spoke with said, “yes, they would see me but they would just bill medi-cal”. Well, I show up at 7:30 AM to my appointment only to find out they will NOT see me with Kaiser as my primary insurance and Medi-cal as my secondary. I had my poor elderly mother drive all the way from Coarsegold to be down here for this ultrasound appointment at 7:45AM, to stay with my other 2 children....and my husband also took off work to be there! I am absolutely appalled by the way a situation like this is handled in the office. They need to communicate with whoever answers their pho

WHY would I have ever kept my appointment if this was the case?! Seriously so terrible to do this to someone, multi people were effected! AND unfortunately I’ve never even seen the doctor but because of the staff and how this was handled, I can’t let this go unnoticed without saying something.

Was told to be here at 7:15. I live an hour away and let the staff know I had to be at work so I needed to been seen on time. They assured me I would be seen on time. I’m now not being seen until 8:30. So disrespectful of people’s time.

Clean and nice office they’re fast to get you but to this student sonographers or berly graduated students who berly know what they are doing !!! After today’s visit I’m requesting not to be seen here anymore 3 times I’ve been seen here by student Sonographers who don’t know what they’re doing my two previous pregnancies I loved We’re I went to bad I decided to go with a different provider and they send me here . The one I seen today literally told me she wasn’t trained to do 3D and she didn’t have someone available to do it after checking my babies heart pressing on my stomach for so long !!! Wouldn’t recommend anyone unless you want to be seen my berly trained girls who just hurt your stomach . Good luck ???????? Dr. Helm knows what he is talking about. The staff members are very kind compared to my visit 3 years ago. They have better equipments for your ultrasound compared to regular OB's office. They also take good amount of time to do the ultrasound and are very informative regarding the ultrasound they perform. They burn CD for all your ultrasound pictures. Except that I don't have any CD player to look at the photos with so it would be great if they put the photos in a small USB instead of a CD or if they could send them to your email.. just a thought. One thing I was very upset about this office was that I had an appointment for genetic consulting with Dr. Helm at 730am. They told me to be there 15min early but I got there at 730am so I felt so bad that I wasnt there 15min earlier like they told me to be but I saw Dr. Helm come to the office at 830am. There were 2 people ahead of me waiting for him so I got to see him around 915am. Hope they can do something about this. Actual consultation with Dr. Helm was very good. I have not met the Dr but i was nervous for my appt today because of the reviews. They were so nice. From the front desk girl, to the girl that walked me back, and especially the ultrasound techs. Good experience!

Good luck trying to get a hold of anyone to make a payment. I've been trying for 7 months. They are RUDE! If I ever have another child I will make sure the dr is not affiliated with this group. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!

If I could give them zero stars I would. Just left their office. Scheduled for a consult which I was told he only sees consults at 7am. Waited an hour. Decided to ask how much longer. Front desk said oh Drs not here yet. I said and you cant tell me hey he's not here. She said well we just never know. From the first time I stepped foot in their office last week office staff was unprofessional. My first appt was scheduled wrong. Today they had me fill out everything AGAIN. They walked in with their hair spray and make up bag to finish getting ready their I guess but they didnt have time to do their jobs. Its perinatal office. In my case something is wrong with my daughters umbilical cord. To have to deal with such ignorance and unprofessionalism is ridiculous. Don't go there. Getting referred back to Dr. Woods. This dr office has a strict do not call the patient policy. They will schedule you appointments and not call you or your regular Dr which is what they always put the blame on. I missed 3 appointments because of lack of communication. I am 22 weeks pregnant with twins, high risk, and I have had only 1 ultrasound for my entire pregnancy. This is very serious they are putting my babies at risk. If anything is wrong I should know but I dont. I will sue them if anything is wrong. Do not go to this office if you want actual prenatal care. This dr office has a strict do not call the patient policy. I was sent here due to my twin pregnancy and was treated very well. There are multiple sonographers in the office and I had a pleasant experience with all of them. I only saw Dr. Helm once but was told that he usually only comes in if there's a problem so I was happy not to see him. The one time I did see him was for my initial consult. I wouldn't say he was overly nice but he was decent. He seemed pretty quick and to the point but also very knowledgeable. Overall a good experience.

Appointment was a disaster. Front office lost my debit card and insisted they handed it back to me. I checked my entire purse and wallet and it was not there. All they said was that they were going to look for it. I had to report my card as lost and order a new one. The staff was not friendly, blunt, and could not take a proper blood pressure reading. The doctor was not worth enduring the staff as he was rude and condescending and raised more concerns than what I went in with.
