Dr. David G. Mattes

Dr Mattes is the first doctor in years who listened to me for more than 2 minutes. He had great advice and after Xrays got to the root of my problem. He is in my mind the best.

After seeing a number of local general practitioners I had the good fortune of being treated by Dr Mattes at the Newton Urgent Care. What a great doctor ! first doctor in many years that listened to me for as much time as I needed and prescript-ed medicine and gave great advice on lifestyle issues. Staff refused to examine and treat a 90 year-old patient with a severe eye infection after she presented her Medicare and Blue Cross cards because she did not have a photo ID. Patient had to go to a hospital emergency room and wait an hour to be seen by a physician. Sad that the owner of the practice has to suffer for this

Dr. Mattes is an exceptional physician. It is a loss to Atlantic Health Care that he no longer is part of Newton's ER but fortunately he has brought a much needed service to Sussex County; an Urgent Care Center.
